  • Houston Auto & Boat Show at NRG Center | Daily – Two big annual H-Town events return to NRG in the same weekend, with five days of the latest and best vehicles available on land and sea. $15 in advance; $20 at the door; free for ages 4 and under. Times vary.
  • Cirque du Soleil presents Kooza at Sam Houston Race Park | Daily | Opening Weekend – Returning to Houston for the second time in 10 years, the thrilling circus arts of Cirque du Soleil excite under the big top in Northwest Houston, featuring acrobatics, daredevil performances, laughter and wonder. $49 and up. Times vary.
  • Paranormal Cirque at Katy Mills | Daily | Closing Weekend – This macabre circus features acrobats, illusionists, mysterious creatures and more. $20; $10 for ages 13 to 17. No admittance for ages under 13. Times vary.
  • CraftTexas 2022 at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft | Thursday to Saturday | Closing Weekend – Drawn from a pool of more than 250 applicants, this juried exhibition features some of the best in Texas-made contemporary craft—with a particularly strong showing of fiber, metal and mixed media—offering pieces that speak to the artists’ personal stories of struggle and resilience. 10am to 5pm.
  • Drunk Shakespeare at the Emerald Theatre | Thursday to Saturday | Opening Weekend – Five professional actors assemble on stage to perform one of the great plays of Shakespeare with a catch—one actor downs five shots of whiskey prior to the performance and the other actors strive to keep the script on track. $39 and up. Times vary.
  • Houston Dash 2023 Open Tryouts at Houston Sports Park | Friday & Saturday – If you think you have what it takes to crack an NWSL roster, the Dash will offer you the chance to prove it on a first-come, first-served basis in South Houston. $125. 9am.
  • The Riot Comedy Club presents Anthony DeVito at Rudyard’s | Friday & Saturday – For three shows over the weekend, the NYC-based comedian brings his award-winning brand of humor and insights to the upstairs stage in Montrose. Times vary.

Returning to Houston for the second time in 10 years, the thrilling circus arts of Cirque du Soleil excite under the big top in Northwest Houston, featuring acrobatics, daredevil performances, laughter and wonder.

  • Comedian Mark Curry at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday – The Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper actor and comedian hits the West Houston comic stage for five shows over the weekend. Tickets are sold by the table; 40 for 2, and up. Times vary.
  • Paradise Blue at Ensemble Theatre | Friday to Sunday | Opening Weekend – When gifted trumpeter Blue considers selling his jazz club in Detroit, the fates of many are thrown into question. This drama is infused with music, and explores the connections that make us human. This production runs through Sunday, February 26. $34 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Houston Grand Opera presents Werther at Wortham Center | Friday & Sunday – Massanet’s elegant opera is a story of unrequited love that cascades to a tragic end. Rarely seen, this opera is back on the HGO stage for the first time in 40 years. $20 and up. Friday 7:30pm; Sunday 2pm.
  • Galveston Museum Day in Galveston | Saturday & Sunday – Score tickets at discounted rates to nearly a dozen of Galveston Island’s museums, including the Railroad Museum, Moody Mansion, Bryan Museum, the Grand 1894 Opera House, and more. Prices and times vary.
  • Year of the Rabbit Celebration at Viet Hoa Center | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Celebrate the Lunar New Year with back-to-back days of festivities, including appearances by city officials, red envelope ceremonies, dancing and music, lion dance performances, and much more. 11am to 6pm.
  • 2023 Trap & Paint Houston at Grooves | Saturday & Sunday – Let out your inner artist while letting loose to trap hits and enjoying gourmet foods at this two-day event in Third Ward. Tickets are available for three-hour time slots. $20 and up. Times vary.
  • Monster Jam at NRG Stadium | Saturday & Sunday – Marvel at the gravity-defying experience of monster trucks when Monster Jam arrives in Houston. Fan favorites like Grave Digger and others will take to the dirt course for freestyle, skills challenges and racing competitions across each of the scheduled events. $20 and up. Saturday 7pm; Sunday 3pm.

  • International Holocaust Remembrance Day at Holocaust Museum Houston | FREE – On the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, HMH welcomes visitors with free admission to explore the history of the Holocaust as well as the ongoing struggle for human rights around the globe. 10am to 5pm.
  • Trebly Park Grand Opening in Downtown | FREE – Three blocks from Toyota Center, Trebly Park is unveiled to the public with a free celebration featuring sweet treats from Tout Suite, a dog park debut, carnival games, and live music from Davi Jay and the Bourbon Street Experience. 2pm to 7pm.
  • Intertwined, Wined & Dined at Houston Botanic Garden – Enjoy an exclusive after hours sunset tour of the Houston Botanic Garden and its newest exhibition, Steve Tobin’s Intertwined: Exploring Nature’s Networks. Then, take a seat around the courtyard for an immersive 5-course pop-up dinner and wine pairing from Chef Thomas Stacy. $260. 5pm to 8:30pm.
  • Friday Night Fever: Beginner’s Salsa Dance Lessons at M-K-T | FREE – Get your salsa steps in order at a free one-hour class led by KDENCE Studios on the patio, followed by a 30-minute dance session. 6pm to 7:30pm.
  • Summer Rebels Movie Screening at Czech Center Museum Houston | FREE – The Czech cultural center hosts a screening of the 2020 film directed by Martina Sakova, Summer Rebels, about a boy who sets off on his own adventure when his mom takes control of summer plans. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Houston, We Need a Title Opening Reception at Reeves Art & Design | FREE – In Montrose, Reeves brings together the works of more than 25 Texas artists in a showcase that spans multiple styles and eclectic tastes. Take a moment in the week leading up to submit your title idea for the show and it just may be announced as the winner at the opening reception. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Friday Night Flights: The ’80s Trivia Night at Urban South HTX | No Cover – At the Arts District brewery, you can participate in a totally tubular trivia night about the ’80s while enjoying themed frozen beers and complimentary popcorn. 6:30pm.

  • A Barrel Aged Evening at Saint Arnold BreweryGuests can get an exclusive glimpse inside the Saint Arnold Barrel Room and enjoy a plethora of barrel aged beers from its cellar. Admission includes samplings of eleven barrel aged beers, two straight-from-the-barrel tastings, open bar pours from its regular lineup of suds, a heavy appetizer buffet, souvenir glass, Barrel Room tour, and 500 mL bottle of Vanilla Mocha Bourbon Barrel Commitment Imperial Stout to take home. $80. 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
  • Noah Kahan in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The folk pop singer-songwriter brings songs from his October release, Stick Season, to the downstairs stage at White Oak. Tickets are sold out at the venue, but you may find hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
  • Winter Beer Dinner at B-52 Brewing – In Conroe, the adventurous brewery in a wooded setting hosts a delicious five-course dinner, expertly paired with five tasty offerings from the taps. $65. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Charlie y La Tribu Cubana in Concert at MECA TBH Center – The Second Ward cultural center hosts Charlie y La Tribu Cubana, playing Latin music indigenous to Cuba, including the traditional Son-Montuno from Santiago, the funky Havana-Miami style salsa, and timba. $20. 7:30pm.
  • Aperio presents Hot Buttered Rumba at MATCH – Showcasing the adventurous spirit of contemporary Latin American music, Aperio’s Hot Buttered Rumba irreverently explores the spellbinding lyricism, sensuous harmonies, and bold rhythmic gestures that define South American classical and popular musical styles. $35. 7:30pm.
  • Glow in the Glades 2023 at Clay Family Eastern Glades – This sixth annual event invites the public to join Memorial Park Conservancy’s young professionals group, Urban Wild, for a night of open bar and light bites, a silent disco, ice carving and more. $100 and up. 7:30pm to 11pm.
