- 2024 Lunar New Year Festival: Year of the Dragon at Chinese Community Center of Houston | FREE – Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with the return of CCC’s annual Lunar New Year Festival, featuring a full day of family-friendly activities, local vendors, merch, Asian street eats and live cultural performances. 10am to 4pm.
- Lunar New Year 2024 at Asia Society Texas Center | FREE – Welcome in the Year of the Dragon with cultural performances, arts and crafts activities and globally-inspired foods at Asia Society in the Museum District. Free to attend and enjoy the festival; performances by Huaxing Arts Group are $10. 10am to 4pm.
- Texas Lunar Festival in Bellaire | FREE – This annual festival returns, featuring singing and dance performances, martial arts performances, vendors, food trucks and more in front of the Southern News Group Building on Bellaire Boulevard. 10:30am to 4:30pm.
- Clay Relief Tile Workshop at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft – Join resident artist Sarah Knight to create a dimensional and experimental, hanging wall relief tile using inclusions of locally sourced, natural materials. $65. 11am to 1pm.
- Galentine’s Day Texas Bonita Market at the Esplanade at Navigation | No Cover – Grab the chicas in your life for a special Galentine’s market at the Second Ward esplanade, featuring more than 65 women-owned businesses, plus music, photo ops, and more. 11am to 4pm.
- Mardi Gras Festival & Parade at Town Center Park | FREE – Bring your lawn chairs, coolers, and dancing shoes to celebrate Mardi Gras in Kingwood with a parade, live music, food, vendors, and more. 11am to 6pm.
- Corcoran Prestige Realty Grand Opening in The Heights | FREE – Check out CPR’s new Heights home and enjoy food, DJ tunes, a bounce house, crafts, a blood drive, and more goodies. Plus, if you’re thinking of buying or selling a home, this is a great opportunity to meet some local professionals who can help. Noon to 4pm.
- LAMARdi Gras at Chapman & Kirby – The EaDo nightlife spot channels the streets of the French Quarter with an abundance of beads, an action-packed live music lineup, a delicious Crescent City-inspired menu—from The Warwick, Chapman & Kirby and Southern Jerks—specialty cocktails—Spiced Hurricanes, Nola 75s and Sazerac—and more. $10 and up. Noon to 6pm.
- Eureka Heights Queso Bowl at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. | FREE – This fourth annual competition sees teams from across the surrounding neighborhood vying to be the head cheese. If you just want to taste the spoils, then simply show up for this no-cover event. 1pm to 5pm.
- Hops for Hope 2024 at Southern Star Brewing Company – The Conroe brewery hosts a fundraiser for Community Assistance Center, complete with food trucks, live music, games and a silent auction. Proceeds will help support various programs and services to neighbors in need across Montgomery County.$50 and up. 2pm to 5pm.
- Lunar New Year Festival & Night Market at Market Square Park | FREE – The Downtown park space hosts this all-evening market with local artisans and food vendors, plus lion and dragon dance performances. 3pm to 9pm.
- Mardi Gras on Main in La Porte | FREE – Rolling into another year in downtown La Porte, Mardi Gras on Main promises an evening of fun, revelry and New Orleans–style flair—complete with roaming performers like stilt walkers, jugglers and more. Shop markets, catch a live performance by Nooney & the Zydeco Floaters, enjoy the annual Second Line parade and more festivities. 4pm to 8pm.
- Chocolate Pairing at Texas Leaguer Brewing Company – The Missouri City brewery hosts its 6th annual event featuring 6 pairings of chocolate with beer, plus giveaways, prizes and live music. $35. 5pm.
- Tapas on the Trails at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center – Enjoy tasty Italian tapas and perfectly paired wine and beer at this evening event that also features a romantic walk through the forest along softly lit trails. Each guest will experience five food and beverage stations and take home a commemorative glass. $110. 5pm to 7pm.
- The Negro Soldier Movie Screening at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | FREE – This 1944 documentary showcases the contributions of African American soldiers to the American war effort in World War II. Following the film, museum staff will be on hand for a brief Q&A. Free with RSVP. 6pm.
- Monster Jam at NRG Stadium – Your favorite monster trucks are going full-throttle as the 12,000-pound beasts tear up the dirt in a test of speed and skill. $20 and up. 6pm.
- Valentine’s Day Movie Night: The Princess Bride at Central Green Park | FREE – Catch a screening of the classic film, The Princess Bride, in Katy. While there, enjoy Valentine’s crafts, face painting for kiddos, and snap a pic with the teddy bear mascot. 6:30pm.
- Sweetheart Cruise on the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat at Moody Gardens – Bring a date to Moody Gardens for a romantic buffet dinner cruise with breathtaking views of Galveston’s Offatts Bayou, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The experience includes music, dancing and cocktails aboard the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat. $280 and up. 6:30pm to 10pm.
- Comedian Willie Barcena at House of Blues – The comic comes to Downtown for a night of hilarious, sharp-witted, irreverent comedy—spanning family, religion, race, sex, politics, and whatever else you aren’t supposed to talk about. $29.50 and up. 7pm.
- Love is in the Air at Post Houston – Join singles and couples alike for a night of magic from professional magician and hypnotist Robert Berry, followed by a talk about the importance of love and connection from relationship coach Dagmar Kusiak. Singles are welcome to stay after the show for a night of mingling and games. $49. 7pm to 9pm.
- Souls of Black Houston at Hobby Center | FREE – Honoring Black History Month, this performance also commemorates the dance company’s 20th anniversary. It features Colored Carnegie as a highlight, telling a vital story of Houston’s Black history, in which Black residents petitioned for the building of the Houston Colored Carnegie Library at a time when no institution of its kind existed for non-white citizens. The night is rounded with performances of Sugar Shack, Black Bodies in White Spaces, and two alumni works. $38 and up. 7:30pm.
- Portugal. The Man at Bayou Music Center – The neo-psych alt-rock band out of Alaska is back on the road and they’re hitting the Downtown stage, with Snacktime supporting. $53 and up. 8pm.
- Charlie Wilson in Concert at Arena Theatre – Just days after gracing the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a new star, the legendary R&B musician and former frontman of the Gap Band comes to Houston for a night of soulful hits. $95.50 and up. 8:30pm.
- Boys Don’t Cry at Numbers Nightclub – The iconic Montrose nightclub celebrates 13 years of this group that pays tribute to the Cure. $25. 9pm to 2am.
- Lunar Dance Festival 6 at Warehouse Live Midtown – Flosstradamus returns to Houston for another edition of the annual EDM Lunar New Year celebration. $15 and up. 10pm.
- Sam Wolfe DJ Set at Bauhaus – Emerging from the techno underground, Sam Wolfe embarks on a North and Central American tour, stopping through Houston’s premiere EDM venue in Downtown. $10 and up. 10pm.

- Drag Brunch at El Big Bad | No Cover – Alexyeus D. Paris, Teresa LaRue and a slate of other queens come to Downtown for a Tex-Mex brunch set to fabulous performances. 11am.
- Super Chili Bowl Cookoff at Bobcat Teddy’s Ice House – The Heights ice house on White Oak hosts a Super Bowl watch party, and you can pre-game with this chili cook-off before the first kick. $20. 11am to 2pm.
- Tidbits Rodeo Market at Goode Co. Armadillo Palace – Get Rodeo ready at this annual marketplace that offers everything you need to put together an outfit, including custom hats, boots, bandanas, jewelry, denim, turquoise and more. $5. 11am to 3pm.
- Lunar New Year Market at M-K-T | FREE – The Heights shopping and dining hub hosts a celebration with a lion and dragon parade, red envelopes for all, free beer for the adults, and a local vendor market, plus a plant swap. 11am to 5pm.
- Wellness Market at Houston Botanic Garden – The South Houston gardens hosts an afternoon wellness market with local vendors offering everything from healthy food to yoga gear. $12.50; includes general admission to the gardens. Noon to 4pm.
- The Big Game with the Niner Nation at Social Beer Garden | No Cover – Fan groups for the San Francisco 49ers gather at the outdoor patio of the Midtown beer garden to cheer on their squad on the 20-foot screen. 2pm to 11pm.
- The Big Game Party at Warehouse Live Midtown | FREE – Get primed for the big game when Kidd Six brings a high-octane rock show to kick off Super Bowl festivities. Concert starts at 3pm, followed by the game at 5:30pm. 2pm to 11pm.
- Puppy Bowl at Axelrad | FREE – The neon beer garden in Midtown hosts Caitie’s Foster Fam Rescue for a puppy adoption event, as well as dog-friendly mocktails and other pup-friendly vendors, with the Big Game screening through the night. 3pm to 7pm.
- Lunar New Year at Eastern Glades | FREE – The Memorial Park greenspace hosts an open-to-all festive celebration that features live performances by the Unity Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe. 4pm to 6pm.
- Lunar New Year at Discovery Green | FREE – Festivities return to Downtown with an evening of dances from Lee’s Golden Dragon, crafts and food vendors to help the whole family celebrate Lunar New Year. 5pm to 7pm.
- Super Bowl Watch Party at Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House – Catch the big game on Pier 6’s patio in San Leon, featuring big screens, coastal views, drink specials and a featured menu. Enjoy 50-cent chilled oysters during game time, $16-$20 beer buckets, $6 specialty frozens and more. Kick-off at 5:30pm.
