• Fefu and Her Friends at MATCH | Daily – Presented by Catastrophic Theatre, Fefu and Her Friends is set in the 1930s and follows a group of eight friends as they meet in the home of their eccentric friend, Fefu. Tickets are pay-what-you-can. Showtimes vary.
• The Sleeping Beauty at the Wortham Theater Center | Daily – Take a seat for the Houston Ballet’s new adaptation of the classic fairytale, Sleeping Beauty, on the stage of Wortham Theater Center. The dazzling production features Tchaikovsky’s score paired with mesmerizing choreography and beautiful costumes. Tickets start at $25. Showtimes vary.
• Art Factory presents Urinetown: The Musical at the Docks | Daily – Watch the Art Factory’s production of Urinetown: The Musical at the Docks, a satirical show where the Earth has transformed into a wasteland. Tickets are $25, of five tickets for $100, but limited discounted $12.50 tickets are available for select shows. Showtimes vary.
• Dirt Dog Theatre Co. presents The Dead Eye Boy at MATCH | Daily – Watch the Houston premiere of The Dead Boy, Angus MacLachlan’s production that tells of addiction, manipulation and more, at MATCH. Tickets start at $25, but limited discounted $12.50 tickets are available for select shows. Showtimes vary.
• Love & Make’s Candle Making Workshop in Rice Village | Daily – Design and create a personalized wax candle with help from the team at Love & Makes in Rice Village. The BYOB workshop also features handmade goods from local artisans to shop while your candles set. $45. Times vary.
• Classical Theatre Company presents Peer Gynt at the DeLuxe Theater | Daily – Experience Classical Theatre Company’s first big puppetry venture with their production of Henrik Ibsen’s Peer Gynt at DeLuxe Theater. Tickets are $25; $20 for ages 65 and up; $10 for students and theater industry professionals with ID; but limited discounted $15 tickets are available for most shows. Showtimes vary.
• Once On This Island at Theatre Under the Stars | Daily – The 2018 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical, Once On This Island, heads on a North American Tour with a stop at Houston’s TUTS. Tickets start at $40, but you may find cheaper or better seats on Tickets start at $40, but limited discounted tickets start at $32 for select shows. Showtimes vary.
• Current Temporary and Traveling Exhibitions on Display at Houston Museums | Daily | Some FREE – Discover art, history, science, and fun for kids at Houston’s most popular museums and exhibition venues, including The Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH), Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS),  The Menil Collection, The Health Museum, Holocaust Museum Houston, Lone Star Flight Museum, National Museum of Funeral History, The Bryan Museum and more.
• HSLR’s World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest at NRG Park | Thursday to Saturday – Kick off the rodeo festivities at one of its biggest events as more than 250 teams come together to compete in the World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest in NRG Park. Adult tickets cost $20; $5 for children 3 to 12. Times vary.
• Scratch & Win at Houston area Metro by T-Mobile stores | Thursday to Saturday – Swing through Metro by T-Mobile stores across the Greater Houston area and receive a scratch off card to win a prize.
• 20th Annual College Classic at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – Cheer on your team in the 20th annual College Classic in Minute Maid Park, where SEC teams go up against teams from the Big 12. Throughout the weekend, LSU, Arkansas and Missouri will take on Texas, Oklahoma and Baylor. Single day tickets include three games and range from $20 to $35; three day passes range from $42 to $75. 11am to 10:30pm daily.
• Vincent Victoria Presents’ Dreamgirl Deferred: The Fictional Ballad of Florence Ballard at Midtown Art Center | Friday to Sunday – Catch the world premiere of the new play dramatizing the live of a former singer from The Supremes, and follows her tragic life story after she left the group and Motown. Showtimes vary.
• Texas Independence Day 2020 Events Around Houston | Saturday and Sunday − Whether you’re looking to learn about the history of Texas at a family-friendly event, enjoy a concert or sip on a Texas-sized drink, we’ve got you covered with Texas Independence Day celebrations around Houston throughout the weekend. Commemorating March 2, 1836, when Texas officially declared independence from Mexico, Texas Independence Day offers events around town to remember the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Times and prices vary by location.
• Texas Independence Day Celebration at Washington on the Brazos | Saturday and Sunday | FREE – Celebrate Texas’ independence with a two-day festival at Washington on the Brazos. They’ll have live music and entertainment, plus living historians who will present highlights of the historic 1836 convention. Times vary.
• Houston Outlaws: Overwatch League at Revention Music Center | Saturday and Sunday – Root for Houston’s own professional e-sports team, the Outlaws, when they play in an Overwatch competition against teams from Boston, Paris, London, New York and more. Tickets range from $90 to $240 and are good for all weekend, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. Times vary.
• Cirque du Soleil presents Alegría: In a New Light at Sam Houston Race Park | Saturday and Sunday – Ooh and ahh as the gymnasts, acrobats and more from Cirque du Soleil perform one of their most popular shows, Alegría, at Sam Houston Race Park. Tickets start at $75, and vary in price by day and availability, but you may find cheaper, better, or hard-to-get seats on TicketNetwork’s resale website. Showtimes vary.

• Chuck Wagon Breakfast at East End Financial Center | No Cover – Chow down on a breakfast of sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, peach cobbler, coffee, and juice when Frost Bank hosts a Chuck Wagon Breakfast to kick off the 2020 rodeo season. 7:30am.
• Houston Museum of Natural Science: Discounted Exhibit Hall Admission – Score entrance to the Houston Museum of Natural Science Exhibit Hall at a discounted price when you purchase a special voucher, which will be available throughout all of 2020. • Notsuoh Coronation Gala in the Crystal Ballroom at Rice Lofts – Celebrate NoTsuOh (or “Houston” spelled backwards), a historic event similar to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, with a Coronation Gala at the Rice Lofts’ Crystal Ballroom. Tickets start at $250. 7pm.
• Opera in the Heights presents Yeltsin in Texas at Lambert Hall – Take a seat for Evan Mack and Joshua McGuire’s hilarious story of Yeltsin in Texas, presented by Opera in the Heights at Lambert Hall. Tickets range from $29 to $89; discounts are available for seniors ages 65 and up. 7:30pm.
• Fab 5 in Concert at Pacific Yard House – Experience a live Beatles tribute concert from the local cover band, Fab 5, at Downtown Conroe’s restaurant and venue, Pacific Yard House. Tickets are $10. 9pm.
• Powderkeg presents A Film Festival III: February Edition at Station Theater – Catch a lineup of short films, each 10 minutes or less, showcasing local and international filmmaking talent. Complimentary Karbach beer will be available for everyone age 21 and up. An afterparty follows at R Bar. $8 in advance, $10 at the door. 9pm to 10:45pm.
