• Houston, Sie Haben Ein Problem! at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston | Daily | Final Weekend | FREE – This first major solo exhibition in the United States of Austrian artists Paul Renner and Richard Hoeck offers playful and unconventional ideas about food, humor, performance art and the social potential of coming together for a meal. 11am to 6pm.
• The Riot Comedy Show presents Rachel Wolfson & Mat Edgar at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday & Saturday – Starring alongside the classic crew in the 2022 film Jackass Forever, Rachel Wolfson takes the stage with friend Mat Edgar for back-to-back nights of stand-up in Montrose. $17 and up. Times vary.
• Opening Reception: Fields of Vision by Marcus Lyon at the Silos at Sawyer Yards | Friday & Saturday | FREE – Projected on the side of the rice Silos at Sawyer Yards and viewable from the parking lot, this opening reception for the featured FotoFest artwork draws on the oral recordings, ancestral DNA maps, and portraits of a group of inspirational change-makers in an immersive light and sound show. Showings begin at 9pm and 9:40pm, following an introductory Q&A. 8:30pm to 10:30pm.
• Comic Conroe at Lone Star Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Seek out some of your favorite characters from the worlds of comics and pop culture at Conroe’s epic convention that features a cosplay costume contest, autograph sessions with voice actors like Adassa (better known as Dolores Madrigal from Encanto), and shop from local vendors. $15 and up; $40 for a weekend pass. • Comedian Corey Holcomb at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday – The Chicago-born and raised comedian, radio host, and actor, Corey Holcomb, performs 5 stand-up sets across the weekend at Houston Improv. $140 for a table of 4, and up. Times vary.
• Houston Astros vs. Baltimore Orioles at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – A late-blooming Orioles squad comes to Minute Maid to take on a top-of-the-standings Astros. Swing through the ballpark early on the weekend to snag giveaways like a Lance McCullers jersey or Michael Brantley bobblehead, or register your pup and bring them to the game on Sunday for Dog Day. $22 and up; a special ticket required for dogs. Times vary.
• Fiterman Sports presents Autograph Show of Texas at Pasadena Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – A slew of beloved professional athletes head to Pasadena for another edition of the weekend autograph show, featuring appearances by Sheryl Swoopes, George Foreman, Ric Flair, Brett Hart, Floyd Mayweather and more. Entry is $10; free for military with ID and ages under 12. Autographs and photos are additional fees. Times vary.
• Historical Hearses at National Museum of Funeral History | Daily – Take a ride through the evolution of rare and ornate historical hearses at the North Houston museum of all things funerary. $10. Times vary.
• Houston Restaurant Weeks at Multiple Locations | Daily – H-Town’s biggest food event of the year continues as 200+ local restaurants offer up special fixed price meals for brunch, lunch and dinner (and even to-go), with a set dollar donation from each meal sold benefiting the Houston Food Bank. $25 for brunch and lunch; $39 to $55 for dinners. • Clue at Alley Theatre | Daily | Final Weekend – The Alley Theatre presents a live stage production inspired by the classic cult whodunit movie and board game, Clue. Murder and blackmail are on the menu at a dinner party when six guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget… if they make it out alive. Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife? • The Riot Comedy Show presents Jason Cheny at Rudyard’s British Pub – The LA-based comedian from Taiwan hits the upstairs stage at Rudyard’s for a set that offers a cross-cultural perspective that skewers the social absurdities within his family, his upbringing and American society. $15 and up. 7pm.
• Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins at Minute Maid Park – The final game of three against Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins offers a Jose Altuve AL Champion replica ring to all fans in attendance. $12 and up. 7pm.
• Kidz Bop Live in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The music group just for kids brings family-friendly covers of popular hits to the stage in the Woodlands, plus the fan-favorite Daddy Dance Off gives fathers a chance to show off their best moves on stage to a mashup of Y2K hits. $29.50 and up. 7pm.
• NFL Preseason: Houston Texans vs. San Francisco 49ers at NRG Stadium – The Niners come to town to close out NFL preseason ahead of Week 1 in mid-September. $54 and up. 7pm.
• Natalie Price & Ben Jones in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – Catch a live set from Austin Americana, folk songwriters Natalie Price and Ben Jones at the Upper Kirby stage. $30 and up. 7pm.
• Sebastián Yatra in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – The Colombian pop artist—most recently known for sining “Dos Oruguitas” in Disney’s 2021 hit film Encanto—swings through Houston while touring Dharma, his third studio album that features collabs with Rauw Alejandro, Daddy Yankee, and Jonas Brothers. $41.50 and up. 8pm.
• Tycoon Houston Comedy Music Fest at Toyota Center – Rapper 50 Cent hosts a one-two punch of comedy and music performances in Downtown, featuring nine stand-up acts that include B-Simone, Bill Bellamy, Jess Hilarious, Gary Owen, and many others, in addition to appearances from Fetty Wap, Flo Rida, Rotimi and more. $49 and up. 8pm.
• Jason Boland in Concert at Main Street Crossing – The Red Dirt country musician comes to the Crossing in Tomball for a night of songs from his late 2021 release, The Light Saw Me, and more. $37 and up. 8pm.
