  • Annual Oleander Garden Festival at Betty Head Oleander Garden Park | FREE – Beauty in every color for your home is available at this event with more than 200 Oleanders for sale, as well as other plants from multiple vendors, plus door prizes, a raffle and music by the Galveston Ukelele Society. 8am to noon.
  • Día del Niño at Children’s Museum Houston – It’s a fiesta of epic proportions that celebrates the wellbeing of children. Come by to see the Mr. Leo Bilingual Puppet Show, DIY Sock Puppets, Make a Toy Workshop, and a performance by Las Américas Ballet Folklórico. $17 for ages 1 and up. 9am to 5pm.
  • 68th Sylvan Beach Festival in La Porte – Grab your sunscreen, beach towels and a picnic basket for a whole day full of family fun including carnival rides, food vendors, live music, inflatables, arts and crafts, a vendor market, and a sundown concert as well. $10 and up; free for ages 12 and under. 9am to 11pm.
  • Market Square Park Farmers Market in Downtown | FREE – Head to Historic Market Square to shop from local growers and makers—coordinated by Houston’s oldest organic, sustainable food co-op—and take in free live music performances, along with weekly entertainment and activities and great people- and pup-watching. 10am to 2pm.
  • Earth Day Celebration at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | FREE – Honor nature on this special day where you’ll learn about biodiversity in animals, plants and people, take on a scavenger hunt, explore interactive activities and crafts, and meet meet community partners who will help you enjoy and support nature all around us. 10am to 2pm.
  • Houston Pets Alive! & GoodCharlie present Adoption Palooza at Powder Keg | FREE – Held in the area around Powder Keg, more than 15 shelters will participate, offering you the chance to meet a variety of adorable, adoptable pets. While there, enjoy vendors, food trucks, raffles, music and more. 10am to 2pm.
  • Houston Poetry & Arts Festival at Houston Community College West Institute | FREE – Join Houston creatives at this annual gathering for a day of music, art, poetry, panels, workshops, a gallery walk, and the chance to meet tabling organizations. 10am to 3pm.
  • Conroe Kidzfest at Heritage Place – Plan for a full day of exciting activities and thrilling fun with the entire family, or just come and unleash your inner child when the downtown Conroe park hosts carnival games, vendors, booths and more. 10am to 4pm.
  • Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival at Tomball Railroad Depot Plaza | FREE – This is the place to grab some spicy crawfish, hear live Zydeco and Cajun music, and be entertained throughout an entire day of festival fun. 11am to 6pm.
  • 19th Annual Frida Festival at the Storyhive | FREE – Celebrate all things Frida Kahlo at an East End festival featuring lively music, performances, vendors, food trucks, and plenty of people dressed up as one of Mexico’s most beloved and legendary artists. 11am to 7pm.
  • Houston Plant Swap at Eureka Heights Brewing | FREE – The monthly plant swap returns to the Heights brewery with free biodegradable seedling pots for you to take home, along with a variety of herb seeds for planting. Swing by and explore more than a dozen vendors, try your hand at plant raffles, and chill with tasty craft brews. Noon to 3pm.
  • Bayou Blues Festival at Houston Botanic Garden – Celebrate the blue blossoms at this first annual event with live music from Mighty Orq, Trudy Lynn, and the Chambers DesLauriers Band at the South Houston gardens. $15; $10 for ages 3 to 15. 1pm.
  • Houston Brew Festival at Discovery Green – Take in the great Downtown scenery while sampling 150 beers from over 50 breweries while you enjoy food trucks, cover bands, lawn games and more. $50 and up. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Ice House Radio at Axelrad | FREE – The “Texas Tradition” returns to Axelrad in Third Ward for an afternoon of live DJs in the backyard. Roxy Casbah, JJ, Mato and trawlerboy will spin half-hour sets, followed by an hour of all-vinyl 45s from Pinche Marlen. 2pm to 5pm.
  • Spring Wine Fest 2024 at Kemah Boardwalk – Explore the distinctive wines from the state of Washington with 72 wine samples on tap alongside live music, gorgeous waterfront scenery and appetizers from local restaurants. $59.95 and up. 2pm to 5pm.
  • The Kingwood Big Band: An Afternoon at Back Pew Brewing | FREE – The Kingwood brewery hosts an afternoon of Big Band tunes that include classics like “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Unforgettable,” “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and more. The family-friendly performance takes place alongside a kids playground, food trucks and tasty craft brews. 2pm to 6pm.
  • ROCO presents Luminescent at Brockman Hall – In the chamber orchestra’s second-to-last concert of the season, the full 40-piece orchestra is slated to shine in works of radiant orchestral color and creativity across three premieres. Pay-what-you-wish; suggested donation of $35. 5pm.
  • Concierto Inolvidable featuring La Mafia at Independence Park | FREE – The Grammy Award–winning Tejano group performs a live concert in Pearland, free to the public. They’ll be joined by David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, Marcos Orosco, IconicZZ and DJ Double O. 6pm.
  • Saturday Jazz Night with the Mark Dini Group at League Park | FREE – KTSU helps host this ongoing jazz concert series in League City, featuring a one-hour talk with radio personality Todd Parker, followed by live music. The Mark Dini Group helps close out this springtime series. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Enchanting Moon Belly Dance Gala at MATCH – Take in a competition and stage show celebrating the art of belly dance, featuring dancers and performers from Houston and beyond. Dancers are also invited to participate in intensive workshops led by dancer master Yousry Sharif throughout the weekend. Show $26. 6:30pm to 10pm.
  • Kane Brown in Concert at Toyota Center – The chart-topping country artist swings by Downtown with his In The Air Tour, celebrating his current No. 1 hit, “Thank God.” Special guests include Tyler Hubbard and Parma Lee. $49 and up. 7pm.
  • Houston SaberCats vs. San Diego Legion at SaberCats Stadium – After a strong start to the season, the SaberCats enter the halfway point in Week 9, facing the San Diego Legion in South Houston. $15 and up. 7pm.
  • Urban Cowboy Hoe Down at Sam Houston Park | FREE – Hang onto your hat to celebrate Sam Houston Park’s 125th Anniversary with a free showing of Urban Cowboy, dancing, and live country music by Sam Turner and the Cactus Cats. 7pm to 10pm.
  • The Polyphonic Spree in Concert at the Heights Theater – Experience the ongoing spectacle of the choral rock band out of Dallas, who bring their latest full-length offering, Salvage Enterprise. $24 and up. 7:45pm.
  • Cooper Mohrmann & Company in Concert at Goode Company Armadillo Palace – The Houston musician is making his mark since releasing his first single, “Black Hole of Back Then,” and will take the stage at the Upper Kirby barbecue joint and music venue. Ages 21 and up. $15 and up. 8pm.
  • Emo Night with Shosty at 8th Wonder Brewery | FREE – Gear up for a great night of tunes from this pop punk band that sorts through the nostalgic emo and pop punk hits you love. 8pm to 11pm.
  • Philly Soul Sound Vol. 4 at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – One of Miller’s most anticipated annual shows sees a collection of harmony groups bring to life the prominent music of the ’60s and ’70s, with hits like “Love Train,” “Me and Mrs. Jones,” and more. 8:15pm.
  • Jesse Peyton’s Birthday Comedy Bash at Sam Houston Race Park – The Houston native brings his comedy tour to HTX, bringing along comic Dustin Sims, best known for his “Talking to Myself” series on Snapchat, for a birthday celebration. $30. 10pm.

  • Galveston’s Own Farmers Market at the Market on Depot | FREE –  Mingle and find fresh local produce, croissants, coffee, spices, meat, eggs, and more alongside artisan goods at the popular weekly island market in the heart of Galveston. 9am to 1pm.
  • A Guided Meditation with Aproteem Choudhury at Memorial Park | FREE – Head to the Cullen Running Trails Center to put your mental health first at this morning of reflection and connection, meditating on nature and how it positively impacts our lives. 10am.
  • 7 Year Anniversary Celebration at El Gato Coffeehouse Cat Cafe – The Heights coffeehouse that serves as a (temporary) home to adoptable kitties celebrates its 7th year with a variety of classes, like painting with cats, a combination pilates and yoga class, and yoga with cats. $18 and up. 10:30am to 2:30pm.
  • Local Book & Author Fair at Houston Toy Museum – The Heights museum of toy history is a perfect setting for guests to meet and greet local authors in a Scholastic Book Fair vibe. Books are available for kids of all ages, complete with read-alouds throughout the day and other fun kids activities. $5; free for ages 5 and under. 11am to 4pm.
  • Paella Sunday at Mutiny Wine Room – Come hungry for this live-fire culinary experience by Chef Eduardo in the Heights, where the paella is made fresh in large batches and delivered hot to your table. $38; wine pairings are an additional $15. 1pm, 4pm and 6:30pm.  
  • MECA’s Dia del Niño Theater Festival at MECA Houston | FREE – The historic Sixth Ward school hosts a special theater fest for Día del Niños, featuring a lineup of children’s plays performed in English, Spanish and French. Plus, there’s art activities on hand, delicious snacks, bounce houses and an art showcase. 1pm to 8pm.
  • Houston Zydeco Fest at Emancipation Park – The Third Ward park space hosts an afternoon of Zydeco tunes and food vendors that make up a Creole party with games, contests and more activities. $10 and up; free for ages 8 and under. 1pm to 9pm.
  • Ice House Radio at Equal Parts Brewing | FREE – Part of a double decker weekend for the Ice House Radio crew, the Second Ward brewery off Harrisburg hosts a slate of afternoon DJs inside the taproom. Collin, Buddy Lembeck, Huey Bosco, DJ Cold One and Brother Jackson will set the soundtrack as you enjoy tasty craft brews and a good hang. 2pm to 6pm.
  • Chicago at the Grand 1894 Opera House – This iconic award-winning showstopper is set to deliver fame, fortune and all that jazz at the Galveston opera house, showing why it has claimed multiple Tony Awards, two Oliver Awards and a Grammy. $34 and up. 2pm and 7pm.  
  • Windsync 15th Anniversary Concert at Shepherd School of Music – Celebrate this notable anniversary as musicians from its founding reunite with present talent for this special occasion. $15; free for ages 9 and under. RSVP required. 3pm.
  • USPA Western Challenge at Houston Polo Club – Don your best straw hat as these high-goal teams go head-to-head in this highly anticipated match. Stick around for the champagne divot stomp at halftime, live music, player parade, a special trophy presentation, and the crowning of the winner of the Best Straw Hat contest. $18 and up. 5pm.
  • Jazzy Sundays: Chief Adjuah with Sal Capone at Buffalo Bayou Park | FREE – Groove to the sounds of live jazz music at this closing concert at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park. Chief Adjuah and Sal Capone will deliver the tunes while you take in the Houston skyline. 5pm to 7pm.
  • Bronco in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – One of Nuevo León’s finest grupero bands, the legendary Mexican regional music makers Bronco will take over the Sugar Land stage. $56 and up. 7pm.
  • Rolling Stones in Concert at NRG Stadium – One of rock ‘n’ rolls’ most iconic, history making bands of all time comes to Houston to showcase their biggest hits on the Hackney Diamonds tour. $69 and up. 8pm.
