  • Virtual 2020 Spring Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market on Facebook Groups | Daily | No Cover – Although this year’s spring edition of Houston Ballet’s massively popular Nutcracker Market was canceled, shoppers can still find a wide variety of options and one-of-a-kind creations from its merchants on a special virtual edition. Through Thursday, April 30, 2020, you can browse, shop, and buy goods from the market’s merchants in the Virtual 2020 Spring Nutcracker Marketplace Facebook group. There’s no cost to enter or browse, but you’ll need to join the Virtual 2020 Spring Nutcracker Marketplace Facebook group. All day each day.
  • The Cottonmouth Club Nightly Livestream on Instagram & Facebook Live | Daily | FREE – Although the bar is closed, The Cottonmouth Club on Main Street is hosting a nightly one-hour live stream on social media from 9pm to 10pm. Virtual drink-serving may not be an option quite yet in the 21st century, but you can still tune in to watch The Cottonmouth Club’s core crew make cocktails, take questions, and generally doing what they can to remind Houstonians that there’s a bar out there that misses them. There is no in-person attendance. 9pm to 10pm each night.
  • Levy Park presents Houston Flamenco Collective On-Demand class on Facebook & YouTube | Monday, April 13 | FREE – Join professional Flamenco dancers from Houston Flamenco Collective to learn more about the beauty, strength, and variety that exists within the Flamenco dance and culture. Students will gain a deeper appreciation of this art through a brief introduction to the origin and history of Flamenco, as well as an explanation of the performance elements that compose this dance. The participants will complete the program by learning choreographed routines. 10am to 10:30am.
  • Houston Zoo presents Bringing the Zoo to You on Facebook Live | Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17 | FREE – Throughout the month of April, Houston Zoo is broadcasting live each weekday morning, sharing daily updates on its furred, flippered, and feathered residents, plus sharing how zookeepers are caring for them while the zoo is closed. 11am to 11:30am.
  • Houston Center for Contemporary Craft presents Virtual Programming | Monday, April 13, Wednesday, April 15 and Friday, April 17 | FREE – Get creative with HCCC on Facebook and Instagram Live while enjoying fun art-making activities you can do at home. No in-person attendance. 1pm each day.
  • Levy Park presents Zumba On-Demand on Facebook | Monday, April 13 to Wednesday, April 15 | FREE – While Levy Park is no longer hosting Zumba programs, FitMix, led by Yuri Amor Perez, is now offering online classes right in the comfort of your home. This Latin-inspired, high-energy, choreographed dance workout is designed to improve cardio endurance, coordination, and even your dance moves. The class is one hour long and suitable for all fitness levels. View sessions on FitMix’s Away Together Zumba Facebook Page. 6:30pm to 7:30pm each day.
  • Main Course Cooking School presents Kids Virtual Cooking Class | Tuesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 16 | FREE – Cook with the kiddos when Main Course Cooking School offers a virtual cooking class meant for children using items that can be found in most pantries. This event will be held online on Main Course Cooking School’s Facebook Page. No in-person attendance. Noon both days.
  • Levy Park presents Body Barre On-Demand on Facebook & YouTube | Wednesday, April 15 | FREE – From DEFINE Body & Mind, Levy Park presents this online full-body, low-impact workout that incorporates the science of pilates, yoga, core strengthening, and ballet. This energizing 20 minute-long class uses bodyweight to target all major muscle groups to sculpt, slim, and tone your whole body. All fitness levels are welcome. You can view the classes on the Levy Park Facebook Page or YouTube Channel. 10am to 10:30am.
  • The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency hosts Online Programs via Zoom | Wednesday, April 15 | FREE – The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency launches a virtual weekly series of online programs. Each session will last 35 to 40 minutes via Zoom every Wednesday at 2pm and will be posted on The Women’s Fund website and Facebook Page. The presentations will focus on relevant topics during these difficult times in addition to personal physical, mental, financial, emotional, health, and wellness. 2pm.
  • Houston Sports & Social Club presents Virtual Wednesday Night Trivia on Zoom | Wednesday, April 15 | FREE – Throughout the month of April, Houston Sports & Social Club presents a weekly Wednesday night virtual trivia series on Zoom, loaded with prizes from local businesses. No in-person attendance. Admission Participation is free. To play, join the Houston Sports & Social Club Community group on Facebook. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Levy Park presents Tai Chi On-Demand on Facebook & YouTube | Thursday, April 16 | FREE – Practice Tai Chi to connect and focus the body and mind with slow, low-impact gentle movements and stretches. Open to all ages and levels, this class is great for those who want to de-stress, find their inner peace, and increase overall health. 10am.
  • Pearland Library presents Virtual Storytime on Facebook Live | Thursday, April 16 | FREE – Pearland Library presents a virtual storytime, every Thursday morning in April, on Facebook Live. No in-person attendance. 11am to 11:30am.
  • The Jung Center presents How We Meet a Pandemic Live Stream | Thursday, April 16 | FREE – In this online class, The Jung Center will use Albert Camus’ gripping, classic novel The Plague to explore questions of resolve, fear, acceptance, denial, and compassion together. The event will be held live online through The Jung Center. No in-person attendance. Guests must register for this event. 12:30pm to 6pm.
  • Levy Park presents Bollywood & Bhangra Dance on YouTube | Thursday, April 16 | FREE – Instructor Dolly from Steps for Dancing brings the weekly Levy Park series online, with vibrant and entertaining dance classes suitable for all ability levels. These classes give a whole body workout while dancing to the rhythm of joy with the powerful nature of Bollywood music. 7pm.
  • Thursday Night DJ Lights with DJ Maddy Rose on Twitch | Thursday, April 16 | FREE – Following a scheduled appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, on Houston’s Channel 13 (planned for the morning of Thursday, April 16, 2020), 12-year old Houston, DJ Maddy Rose will be spinning online in her new series called Thursday Night DJ Lights. 8pm to 8:45pm.
  • Levy Park presents Family Storytime & Craft on Facebook & YouTube | Friday, April 17 | FREE – Swing by every Friday and on select Mondays for a virtual storytime and craft activity inspired by the book. Check out the schedule below and click book titles to see what materials are needed for craft activities. The story on Friday will be The Pout Pout Fish. Tune into the Levy Park Facebook page or YouTube channel to catch the live stream. 10am to 10:30am both days.
  • Mad About Hoops presents Fitness Fridays on Facebook Live | Friday, April 17 | FREE – Learn some hoop tricks when instructors from Mad About Hoops host a virtual Fitness Friday class on Facebook Live. The event will be held live online on Mad About Hoops’ Facebook page. No in-person attendance. 11am to 11:30am.
  • Galveston Island’s Virtual Happy Hour on RadioGalveston | Friday, April 17 | FREE – Sign on to RadioGalveston every Friday at 5:30pm in April to enjoy music, special commentary, and happy hour drinks (those are on you) to wrap off the week. Email song requests to [email protected]. 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
  • Classic Numbers Friday Live Stream on Twitch | Friday, April 17 | FREE – Dance from the comfort of your home to ’80s, goth, industrial, new wave and more, as Numbers Nightclub and resident DJ Wes Wallace hosts their long-running Classic Numbers Friday dance night on Twitch. Though free, an optional cover charge can be paid on Venmo with the Numbers300 username. No in-person attendance. 9:30pm.
  • Kung Fu Running Club’s Virtual April Buffalo Bayou Brewery Run on Facebook | Saturday, April 18 | FREE – Kung Fu Running Club takes its April event online. Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to run as many or few miles as they’d like during the day of the event. Then check into the Facebook event page using Buffalo Bayou Brewery as your location, plus a photo from your run (selfies preferred). No in-person attendance at Buffalo Bayou Brewery. This event takes place all day.
  • Encore Music Studio presents Adult Virtual Piano Lessons on Facebook Live | Saturday, April 18 | FREE – Learn to play keys when Encore Music Studio offers virtual piano lessons for adults and teens ages 14 and up via Facebook Live. The event will be held live online on Encore Music Studio’s Facebook page. No in-person attendance. 3pm to 3:30pm. 
  • Kam Franklin Live Stream Concert on Facebook Live | Saturday, April 18 | FREE – The Suffers lead singer and musician, Kam Franklin, is performing a live, solo concert featuring covers, songs by The Suffers, and even some requests. The live stream will happen every Saturday, through April. This event will be held online on The Suffers’ Facebook page. No in-person attendance. 8pm.
