- Main Street Theater presents The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley | Daily – Take a seat for Main Street Theater’s presentation of The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley. The delightful continuation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice switches the focus to Miss Bennett’s downstairs servants, who find themselves in the midst of a separate holiday scandal. Tickets are $43; $38 for ages 65 and up; $23 for ages 30 and under; $10 for full time students with valid ID. Showtimes vary.
- Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens | Daily – Brighten up your holiday season at the Festival of Lights in Moody Gardens, which features a mile-long trail of more than one million lights and illuminated scenes with views of Galveston Bay. The family-friendly mainstay also offers an outdoor skating rink, vendors serving hot chocolate and festive food, and live entertainment. Tickets start at $18.95. 6pm to 10pm daily.
- A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas at Alley Theatre | Daily – Catch a performance of the classic, seasonal tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, who’s famously visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future in Alley Theatre’s annual production of A Christmas Carol. - Zoo Lights at Houston Zoo | Daily – Stroll through the Houston Zoo with hot chocolate in hand while you admire glimmering displays made up of more than two million Christmas lights at this annual must-see attraction. You can snap a selfie on the giant ice throne, play in the snow, make your way through an illuminated tunnel, and take photos with Santa on select nights. - Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Musical Play at Stages Repertory Theatre | Daily – Kick off the holidays with Stages Repertory Theatre’s musical production of the Christmas classic, Miracle on 34th Street, at Arena Theater in Montrose. - Downtown Lasers & Lights at Historic Downtown Galveston | Friday and Sunday | FREE – Galveston’s historic downtown district hosts Downtown Lasers & Lights, an event featuring new laser shows, a magical display of lights and other holiday-themed attractions in Saengerfest Park and beyond. 6pm to 9pm each day.
- The Catastrophic Theatre presents Baby Screams Miracle at MATCH | Friday to Sunday, – Take a seat for The Catastrophic Theatre’s dark take on family holiday programming with Baby Screams Miracle, presented at MATCH in Midtown. Tickets for all shows are pay-what-you-can, ranging from $5 to $75. $40 is the suggested price. Showtimes vary.
- Houston Ballet presents The Nutcracker at Hobby Center | Friday to Sunday – The Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara, and all of her magical toys return for the beloved Christmas classic, The Nutcracker, presented by the Houston Ballet at the Wortham Theater Center. Tickets start at $39. Showtimes vary.
- A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas at Alley Theatre | Friday to Sunday – Houston’s seasonal favorite, A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story of Christmas, returns to the Alley Theatre. The family-friendly re-telling of Charles Dickens’ classic story follows Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey with the three ghostly spirits who visit him on Christmas Eve. A Christmas Carol instills a powerful message about redemption and the spirit of the holiday season. Tickets start at $34. Showtimes vary.
- Flea at Silver Street: Black Friday Holiday Flea | Friday to Sunday – Silver Street Studios’ holiday flea market returns with one-of-a-kind collectibles, jewelry, vintage finds, artwork, mid-century modern furniture, and original designs. Visitors can also hit up the full bar and local food trucks, as well as onsite pet adoptions. Tickets are $5 and kids 12 and under get in free. 10am to 5pm daily.
- Art Factory presents The Wizard of Oz at the Docks | Friday to Sunday – Celebrate the 80th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz with Art Factory’s fresh take on the beloved film. Expect to hear some of the film’s original music, including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Ding! Dong! The Witch is Dead,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard,” “If I Were the King of the Forest” and more. - 70th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Downtown | FREE – Kick off your holiday in Downtown, where a stunning showcase of floats, balloons, marching bands and more will entertain audiences in the 70th Annual Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade. 9am.
- Thanksgiving Day Feast at B&B Butchers – B&B Butchers opens its doors this Thanksgiving to offer guests a festive prix fixe menu of tasty dishes like roasted turkey with cornbread and sausage stuffing, oven-baked yams, and decadent pumpkin pie. On your way out, grab a complimentary “leftover” turkey sandwich from the Butcher Shop, made with roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a side of gravy.
