At this point in March, it’s easy to take Rodeo season for granted. But the whole shebang will be over after Sunday night. If boots and hats aren’t your thing, there’s still plenty to distract you, with March Madness, Haute Wheels Food Truck Festival, the Kemah Crawfish Festival and the return of programming at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

Things to Do All Weekend
Haute Wheels Houston at HCC Southwest Campus | Saturday and Sunday – Take your taste buds on a gourmet adventure with the help of more than 35 Houston area food trucks along with ice-cold beer, flavorful wines and a “vendor village” packed with live music, artisans and assorted entertainment. $18 each day, including ticketing fees. Tickets come with five beverage coupons and $1 of each ticket goes to support HCC. Noon to 5pm both days.- Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at NRG Park | Daily – Take advantage of the final weekend of the world’s largest rodeo at NRG Park. Fill your days and nights with livestock shows, carnival rides, fried food, horse shows, shopping, rodeo competition and live music. Tickets start at $10. Grounds open at 8am daily.
- March Madness at Bars Around Houston | Daily – Catch every game of the NCAA Basketball Tournament at these bars around Houston. Prices and times vary.
- Houston Jewish Film Festival | Daily – Sit back, relax and enjoy a festival of Jewish and Israeli films. Guests will watch screenings of documentaries, dramas, musicals and comedies such as A Borrowed Identity, Is That You? and The Art Dealer. Participating venues include the MFAH and the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center. Prices and times vary.
- Amazingly Immature Spring Break at Children’s Museum | Daily – Leave your maturity at the door when you visit the Children’s Museum of Houston during Spring Break. Daily events include hands-on activities, giveaways, movie screenings and live entertainment. 10am to 6pm Monday to Wednesday; 10am to 8pm Thursday; 10am to 6pm Friday and Saturday; 12pm to 6pm Sunday. Free with museum admission.
- Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Hobby Center – TUTS’ production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s and Tim Rice’s biblical musical of Joseph and his coat of many colors is brought to life by Broadway vets Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo. $37.25 to $88.50; limited discounted $24.19 to $54.90 tickets available. 7:30pm.
- Spring Break at Bayou Bend | Thursday and Friday – Explore the gardens and mansion, create arts and crafts, participate in a scavenger hunt and stop by the library to read a story during Spring Break at Bayou Bend. $10; free for children under 18. 10am to 4pm both days.
- The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley at Talento Bilingüe de Houston | Friday & Sunday – Join the beloved children’s book character, the two-dimensional Stanley Lambchop, as he mails himself around the world, visiting Hollywood, Paris, Honolulu and more. $15; limited $7.50 tickets available for select shows. - The Vampire Diaries Official Convention at Hilton North | Friday to Sunday – See stars from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals during this three-day fan convention at the Hilton Houston North. Single day tickets start at $20; packages range from $90 to $499; autograph and photo op tickets also available. Limited comped and discounted $20 single day tickets available. 10am to 7pm daily.
- Kemah Crawfish Festival | Friday to Sunday – Head to the coast for Kemah’s 5th Annual Crawfish Festival complete with live music and lots of mud bugs. $8; children under 12 free. 3pm to 11pm Friday; noon to 11pm Saturday; noon to 6pm Sunday.

- Blake Shelton in Concert at the Houston Rodeo – Country singer and judge of The Voice Blake Shelton returns to the stage of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for the final weekend.
