It’s March in Houston, which means a few things: crawfish, bipolar weather (umbrellas, flip-flops, sweaters, shorts are a daily ensemble), and March Madness. Houston-area bars are gearing up for spirited college alums or NCAA fans who will be chomping at the bit to see if their teams make it all the way to the top. We’ve compiled a list of go-to bars and a couple surprises for enjoyable March Madness entertainment.

  • Christian’s Tailgate – Make sure to wear your best pair of stretchy pants because the burgers and sandwiches at all four Houston locations are elite (8)! Open daily, 11am to 2am. Map it.
  • Little Woodrow’s – With multiple locations around town, this college alum tent pole is prime real estate during March Madness. Open daily, noon to 2am. Map it.
  • Grand Prize Bar – Known more as a hipster hangout than a sports bar, this Museum District bar is always on top of things during seasonal championships. It usually has AMC or TNT running, but the barkeeps are always hip to flip the channel to sports. Open daily, 4pm to 2am. Map it.
