- DaCamera presents Jeremy Denk in Concert at the Menil Collection | Monday, October 17 & Tuesday, October 18 – Prolific pianist and MacArthur Fellow Jeremy Denk performs The Well-Tempered Clavier, J.S. Bach’s suite of 24 preludes and fugues. $60. 7:30pm.
- 2022 ALCS Games 1 & 2: Houston Astros vs. TBD at Minute Maid Park | Wednesday, October 19 & Thursday, October 20 – The Astros take one step one closer to the World Series, facing the winner of an ALDS matchup between Cleveland Guardians and the New York Yankees. Tickets are very limited and start at $125, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. Times TBD.
- The Riot Comedy Show presents Tom Thakkar at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday, October 21 & Saturday, October 22 – The upstairs comedy room in Montrose hosts comedian Tom Thakkar on his return to Houston. The comic has been featured on Comedy Central’s Stand Up Presents, Conan, and as host of his podcast series, Stand-Up with Tom Thakkar. $17 and up. Times vary.
- Southern Smoke Festival at Multiple Locations | Friday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23 – From an opening night barbecue welcome wagon to a high-end raw bar experience and a sampling of culinary stars, the Southern Smoke Festival returns this weekend with three nights of showcases featuring more than 60 of the country’s best chefs—all to help fund-raise in support of food and beverage workers in crisis nationwide. Prices range from $150 to $1000. Times and locations vary.

- Man Man in Concert at White Oak Music Hall– The Philly experimental rock band is stopping by the Bayou City on their national tour. $20. 8pm.

- Lamb of God in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The titans of heavy metal are thrashing their way through the Space City touting their ninth studio album, Omens. $39.50 and up. 6pm.
- Heartthrob with Comedian Rob Anderson at Houston Improv – The cheeky comedian, writer, and content creator is coming through the H on his Heartthrob tour and he’s bringing his sharp humor with him. Tickets are sold by the table; $50 for 2, and up. 6pm.
- Indigo Girls in Concert at House of Blues – The Austin-based band are playing HOB in support of their fifteenth studio album, Look Long, and when the folk rock duo is in town, we are all closer to fine. $32.50 and up. 7pm.

- Liminal: A Conversation with Jorge Pardo at Dudley Recital Hall at UH | FREE with RSVP – Hear directly from the Mexico-based, Cuban American artist about his vibrant, immersive work, Folly, and its creation in a one-hour group conversation. 5pm.

- Urban Green’s Halloween Screen at McGovern Centennial Gardens – Join Hermann Park’s young professional group, Urban Green, for an outdoor screening of the classic 1984 movie, Ghostbusters.
