Comedian Maddy Smith at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – Best known as a cast member on MTV’s Wild N Out and for her social media presence, nationally touring comedian Smith land at the upstairs stage at Rudyard’s for four live shows. $25 and up. Times vary.
Catastrophic Theatre: Love Bomb at MATCH | Opens Friday – Brian Jucha’s world premiere is about, well, let’s say, taxi dancers. Even if it isn’t. It is about what people will do for love, and it features music by ‘70s folk pop star Melanie (think “the Roller Skates song”). Pay-What-You-Can; $35 suggested. Showtimes vary.
Houston Symphony’ Disney’s Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Concert at Jones Hall | Saturday & Sunday – Back by popular demand, the orchestra plays Danny Elfamn’s darkly magical score as the beloved film plays on a giant screen. $51.75 and up. Showtimes vary.
