  • Houston Restaurant Weeks 2024 in Greater Houston | Daily | Ongoing – Benefiting Houston Food Bank, the Houston event rolls on for its 21st year, with a month of multi-course, prix-fixe menus for brunch, lunch and dinner at nearly 400 restaurants across the Greater Houston area, from The Woodlands and Katy to Sugar Land and beyond. $25 for brunch and lunch menus; $39 or $55 for dinners.
  • Houston Shakespeare Festival at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Monday to Saturday | Ongoing | FREE – The final week of Shakespeare performances take place at Miller Outdoor, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Houston festival. Catch Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream on alternating nights through Saturday. 8:15pm.
  • Cirque du Soleil presents Songblazers at Smart Financial Centre | Tuesday to Sunday – This brand-new Cirque du Soleil show draws inspiration from the rich legacy of country music, and pays tribute to the genre’s legendary and modern trailblazers. Expect jaw-dropping acrobatics and aerial acts set to complement top country tunes. $64 and up; family bundles available. Showtimes vary.
  • Ice House Radio at Brasil | Wednesday to Friday | FREE – Close out the week with three straight nights of live radio broadcasts from a deep roster of Houston DJs spinning their favorites on the back patio of Brasil in Montrose. 7pm to 11pm.
  • Houston Chef Series at Multiple Locations | Wednesday & Saturday Chef Erick Bocanegra presents “King Ranch Dinner: A Presidential Retreat,” a five-course menu that helps close out Landry’s annual Houston Chef Series, with dishes from stuffed quail and rainbow trout to chocolate blancmange ($125 with beverage pairings; 7pm to 9pm). A few nights later, the series closes out with the Grand Finale Dinner, held at the Post Oak Hotel, highlighting all the featured chefs of the series. Finale tickets are $200; 6pm to 10pm.
  • KC Shornima at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – A Saturday Night Live writer for Weekend Update, the Austin-based comedian arrives for back-to-back nights in Montrose. $20 and up. 7pm.
  • Houston Reggae Fest at City Hall | Saturday & Sunday – The seventh annual fest returns to Downtown Houston for two days of music and chill vibes. Spice, Sister Nancy and Yellowman are among the entertainers taking to multiple stages, plus you can expect food trucks, local vendors, arts and more. $30 per day; $40 for weekend passes. 3pm to 10pm.

  • Ali Velshi at Asia Society Texas – The author and host of Velshi on MSNBC discusses his latest book, Small Acts of Courage: A Legacy of Endurance & the Fight for Democracy, which tells the story of his family’s incredible century-long journey from India to South Africa, Kenya, Canada, and the United States. $20 and up. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Emo Night: 9 Year Anniversary at Barbarella – Celebrate nearly a decade of tears and beers with a Tuesday night bash for the popular Emo Night at the Midtown nightclub. $9.99. 9pm.

  • Open House at Glassell School of Art | FREE – Stop by the MFAH’s Glassell School to see art demonstrations, talk to faculty, learn about lessons for children and adults, do a scavenger hunt, enjoy complimentary refreshments, take in tunes from Ice House Radio, and more. 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
  • Tiki Takeover Dinner at Brenner’s on the Bayou – Set on the banks of Buffalo Bayou, Brenner’s will be serving up a four-course Caribbean-inspired menu paired with rum cocktails. Enjoy dishes like seared tuna in coconut broth, Polynesian glazed short rib, and more. $175. 7pm.
  • Park After Dark at Discovery Green | FREE – The Downtown gathering place hosts this evening event where guests can enjoy lawn games from Rocket Dog, the Gateway Fountains, music, food trucks, vendors, and special park lighting. There are also free line dancing classes by Gretchen J “Coachgee” during the first part of the evening. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Sebastian Maniscalco at Toyota Center – The explosive comedian and actor, known for film and TV roles, as well as recent Netflix stand-up specials like Is It Me?, performs an arena show in Downtown. $29 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Grease Movie Screening at Market Square Park | FREE – Grab a blanket or a lawn chair and head Downtown for a screening of this 1970s classic. With songs you love, from “Grease Lightning” to “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and “Summer Lovin’,” you’ll have a blast watching John Travolta and Olivia Newton John in this story of two teens trying to figure out who they are and what they mean to each other. 8pm.
  • Heather McDonald at House of Blues – The comedian’s podcast has captivated millions with its humorous takes on everything from Real Housewives to other pitfalls of pop culture, and now she returns to Downtown Houston to share more. $32.50 and up. 8pm.

  • Cosmic Vibrations at Space Cowboy – The Montrose bar hosts its monthly event with house music, drink specials, DJs, a pool party and art performances. $10 and up. 6pm.
  • Mixers & Elixirs at Houston Museum of Natural Science – Experience the museum after dark and with a cocktail in hand as HMNS opens its doors for the summertime Mixers & Elixirs event. Guests can hang with the dinos, hit the dance floor, enjoy cash bars, and chow down on food truck eats. $25. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Broadway Rave at White Oak Music Hall – The Heights-area venue hosts this evening of dancing to all your favorite musical theater tunes. With songs from some of Broadway’s biggest shows, it’s a chance to groove out and experience musical theater across the years. $20. 9pm.
  • Mike Ryan’s Birthday Roast & Comedy Show at The Secret Group – Multiple comedians take to the stage to roast comedian and podcaster Mike Ryan in this evening of laughs in EaDo. $15 and up. 9pm.
  • Pink Pony Club: Chappell Roan Night at House of Blues – Experience a “Femininomenom” as Club ’90s presents Pink Pony Club, a Chappell Roan dance night in Downtown. $17. 9pm.
  • Club2K: 2010s Night at Barbarella – This night features early 2000s/2010s party anthems, club hits, pop bops, and more at the Midtown spot. $12.83. 9:30pm. 
  • Afrobeats To the World at White Oak Music Hall – Feel the pulsating beats of this experience at the Heights-area club. It’s a chance to hear world music and enjoy the unique sound of Afrobeats. $20 and up. 10pm.
  • HoneyLuv DJ Set at Bauhaus – The house DJ and producer blends R&B, Reggaeton, Afrobeats, house and techno into her signature sound. She told the New York Times she wants “to provide music that empowers people to be who they want to be and to be free on that dance floor with no worries of tomorrow.” $10 and up. 10pm.

  • East End Lagoon Guided Nature Walks in Galveston | FREE – Learn more about the local ecosystem with this 60-minute exploration through the natural wonders of the East End Lagoon Nature Preserve near the Galveston coast. You’ll see flora and fauna and find out what makes this environment so special. 9am.
  • On The Street Houston: Streetwear Pop-Up Market at The Garage HTX | FREE – Experience fashion, music, and community fusion through a curated selection of cutting-edge designs from the city’s most innovative local brands. There will also be live DJs and performances. Noon to 6pm.
  • Space News & Brews at Bad Astronaut Brewing – Immerse yourself in an ask-me-anything discussion with space experts and craft brew experts about important space science and exploration news at the Northside brewery. $20. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Strand Summer Series: Wonka at Hendley Green | FREE – Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and come out for this family movie musical, a prequel to 1971’s beloved Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory that reveals how the candy man’s curious unlikely enterprise came to be. 6:30pm and 9pm.
  • 10th Annual OkraFest at Historic Galveston Water & Electric Light Community Center – Galveston’s Own Farmers Market hosts an evening of whimsy, seasonal flavors and community goodness. Showcasing the local farmers and ranchers that help make up the market, the night includes dinner from Mosquito Café, open bar with Daiquiri Time out, craft beer from Galveston Island Brewing, plus live music and dancing, auctions, an Okra Hat competition and more. $175 and up. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Grupo Frontera at Toyota Center – After a rise to fame following a viral Tik Tok in 2022, Grupo Frontera headline Clutch City with music that mixes norteño and cumbia from their brand new album, Jugando A Que No Pasa. $59 and up. 8pm.
  • Demola at 713 Music Hall – The talented Nigerian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, also known as “Demola the Violinist,” plans to show up and show out when he headlines the 713 Music Hall stage. $41.25 and up. 8pm.
  • Brat Rave at Warehouse Live Midtown – Live your brat summer when the Charli XCX-themed party night comes to Warehouse Live in Midtown. $20. 9pm.
  • Doomsday Wrestling’s Hot n’ Sticky Summer Showdown at Bad Astronaut Brewing – Wrestlers Larry Christmas, Poundcake, Tex Lonestar, Doll Face, and more take to the ring as the popular attraction returns to the Northside brewery. $17. 9pm to 11:30pm.

  • Pound & Pour at City Acre Brewing Co. – Start your Sunday with an hour of high-energy workouts, set to pulsating beats. After your session, enjoy a beer. $15. 11am.
  • Plants & Prosecco at The Plant Project Houston | FREE – The plant shop at Montrose Collective hosts an afternoon party with botanicals, beats and burgers. Come out for free plants and free prosecco, along with Boo’s Burgers and DJ Sage. 1pm to 3pm.
  • Barrio Dogs 2nd Annual Let’s Play Loteria at The Ballroom at Bayou Place – Expect games, food, drinks, a costume contest, and of course, Lotería at this bash celebrating the nonprofit dedicated to creating a better future for animals and the community. $50. 1pm to 5pm.
  • Oddities Market at SpindleTap Brewery | FREE – Explore a trove of rare collectibles, peculiar trinkets, and mysterious concoctions as you shop from macabre artists and creators. You’ll also enjoy local food vendors, and enjoy music, drinks and other attractions. 1pm to 6pm.
  • Burnin Dogs Eating Contest in Old Town Harrisburg – Think you have what it takes to be a champion eater? Find out in this hot dog eating contest. How many can you put away and is it enough to win? $25. 5pm.
  • Limp Bizkit at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The legendary nu-metal band celebrates 30 years with a host of buddies, from Cory Feldman to Riff Raff, when they bring their Loserville tour to the Woodlands playing all the familiar faves. $49.50 and up. 6:30pm.
  • Alex vs. America Viewing Party at Craft Pita – Come out to watch Chef Raffi compete on the Food Network series, Alex vs. America, in a battle of Mediterranean food against Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. Admission to the viewing party will get you two dishes made by Chef Raffi in the episode, plus alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. $50. 7:30pm to 9pm.
  • Sunday Funday Fireworks at the Beach in Galveston | FREE – Celebrate the last weeks of summer vacation with free 15-minute fireworks shows along the beach in Galveston, to the east and west of 37th Street and the seawall. 9pm.
