Houston Pumpkin Festival at Discovery Green | Daily | Ongoing – Last year’s celebration of the farm and harvest season kicks off a 7-week return with activities, games, photo opps and more pumpkin-themed fun. Advance RSVP required. $26. 10am to 10pm. Get tickets.

Houston Grand Opera: Music-Stories-Opera! at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Tuesday to Thursday | FREE – Three talented HGO singers lead a 1-hour show introducing students and families to opera. Audiences will learn how singers use voice and music to tell stories with songs, emotions, and language. 11am daily.

A Minecraft Movie Screening at Trebly Park | Thursday | FREE – Sprawl out under the stars in the Downtown park to catch 4 misfits as they tumble into a blocky new world full of adventure in the 2025 hit film (PG). 8pm.

The Savannah Bananas vs. The Texas Tailgaters at Daikin Park | Friday & Saturday – The 2025 Banana Ball World Tour lands in Downtown, as the hilarious Savannah Bananas—known for antics, hijinks and choreographed pop culture dances–battle their new  Lone Star State banana ball rivals. $190+. 7pm both nights. Zoo Boo 2025 at Houston Zoo | Starts Friday | Ongoing – The zoo celebrates the fall, and Halloween with pumpkins galore, special fall activities, and more. It also stays open late until 9:30pm on Saturday. Times vary. Included with admission. Get tickets.

Bat Fest at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday | FREE – Learn about local bat species while enjoying bat-themed activities and crafts for the kids, story time, and food trucks. 10am to 2pm. 

Worldwide Day of Play at Houston Toy Museum | Saturday – In partnership with Nickelodeon and the Association of Children’s Museums, the museum hosts a special day celebrating learning through play. Expect kid-friendly yoga sessions, Kidcreate Studio art stations, Legos, games, and more. $18. 11am to 4pm.

2025 Houston AfriFest at Houston Christian University | Saturday | FREE – Drawing thousands from across the city, the annual fest celebrates the continent of Africa with a market featuring local and international vendors, and showcasing the arts, music, fashion and foods from across the region. 11am to 7pm.

Wild Tunes: 3rd Annual Melodies of Gratitude Concert at Resurrection MCC | Saturday | FREE – Enjoy a program featuring local musicians and performers—classical, pop, and fusion music with vibrant flamenco dancing—at a free fundraiser to  benefit over 15,000 homeless pets. 5pm to 7pm.

Family Day: Hispanic Heritage at Rienzi | Saturday | FREE with RSVP – Visit Rienzi for a free afternoon of activities to celebrate the influence of Hispanic and Latino history and culture. RSVP required. 1pm to 5pm. RSVP.

Latin Beats at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday | FREE – Experience the vibrant energy of Latin Beats with live music, dance moves, and a seaside atmosphere at Kemah Boardwalk. 1pm to 9pm.
