Chefs for Farmers Food + Wine Festival Around Houston | Thursday, September 25 to Sunday, September 28 – Celebrate Texas flavors and community at a multi-day event series showcasing top culinary talent while supporting farmers and producers who grow, harvest, and supply the ingredients. $145+. 16th Annual Galveston Island Wild Texas Shrimp Festival in Downtown Galveston | Friday, September 26 & Saturday, September 27 – The annual fall festival begins with the sure-to-sell-out Friday Kick-Off Party featuring a fried shrimp dinner, open bar, and live entertainment for $72+. It’s followed by Saturday afternoon’s main event, the Shrimp Gumbo Cook-Off and Gumbo Stroll on the island’s Historic Strand, with sampling cups available for pre-purchase for $16+. 2025 Houston AfriFest at Houston Christian University | Saturday, September 27 | FREE – Drawing thousands from across the city, the annual fest celebrates the continent of Africa with a market featuring local and international vendors, and showcasing the arts, music, fashion and foods from across the region. 11am to 7pm.
Oktoberfest at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | Saturday, September 27 | FREE – The Heights brewery serves up some special brews, and the day party will feature live music from the Jodie Mikula Orchestra, pretzels and brats from the Cowboy Scientists cookoff team and Chef Michele Free, and a Steinholding competition. Noon to 6pm.
Tejano Music Festival at Traders Village | Sunday, September 28 | FREE – Expect a day packed with live Tejano music from acts like Leslie Lugo, Sandy G y Los Gavilanes de la Cumbia, and more. $5 parking. Noon to 5pm.

Fleet Week Houston at Port of Houston & Around Greater Houston | Wednesday, November 5 to Wednesday, November 12 | Many FREE – Houston’s first ever Fleet Week welcomes multiple U.S. Navy vessels and more than 1,000 sailors, marines and coast guardsmen, as part of the Navy and Marines 250th birthday.
