This year, the city of Houston welcomes back annual traditions and popular fall favorites that help make Hispanic Heritage Month a festive time of the year.

Noche de Cumbia Festival & Block Party at East End Block | Friday, September 12 – Wonky Power Live’s block party will feature 2 stages, a massive market, and a stacked lineup serving up every flavor of cumbia—from Texas, California, and Monterrey, Mexico. $8. 6pm.
Texas Bonita Market: Hispanic Heritage Celebration at The Esplanade at Navigation | Saturday, September 13 | No Cover – Shop a curated selection of local vendors at the East End Esplanade, with live entertainment, free drinks, and photo opps. 11am to 4pm.
Latin Festival at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, September 13 | FREE – This year’s Latin Fest includes live music, ballet folklorico, traditional Latin American dishes, and more. 11am to 6pm.
Live at Live Oak: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Memorial Park | Saturday, September 13 | FREE – The concert features live music from Latin pop band Mango Punch under the stars, celebrating cultural traditions. 5pm to 7pm.
Big Owl Noche de Loteria at Big Owl Craft Brew House | Saturday, September 13 | FREE – Enjoy music, refreshments, and craft beers while you play games and learn about conservation, Latino culture, and nature. 21 & up. 6pm to 8pm.
Buena Vista Orchestra in Concert at Bayou Music Center | Saturday, September 13 – The legendary musical ensemble, primarily composed of Cuban musicians, performs live at Bayou Music Center. $42 and up. 8pm.
Shakira Tribute Rooftop Concert at Post Houston | Saturday, September 13 – Watch as this Houston-based Shakira tribute captures the essence of the Colombian artist, Shakira, live in Downtown. $23.44 and up. 8pm to 10pm.

Native American Heritage Day at Jesse H Jones Park & Nature Center | Saturday, September 13 | FREE – Head to the Humble park’s Akokisa Village for a celebration of Indigenous culture with demonstrations, talks, a performance by the Chikawa Aztec Dancers, and more. 9am.
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday, September 13 – Bring the kiddos to enjoy traditional Aztec dancing, crafts, a Fiestas Patrias speech reenactment, and more in the Museum District. Included in $19.95 admission. 9am to 5pm.
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at Houston Farmers Market | Saturday, September 13 | FREE – The market on Airline Drive in the Heights honors the month celebrating Hispanic Heritage with an afternoon and evening of local market shopping, face painting, a salsa class, live music from the Cumbia band, Son Bayou, ballet folklorico, and mariachi. 11am to 5pm.
Latino Conservation Week at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday, September 13 to Sunday, September 21 – Throughout the week, guests can enjoy volunteer activities, educational events, and more at the annual celebration highlighting Latino contributions to conservation. El Grito at Miller: A Night with Lupita Infante, with Jacqie Rivera at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Monday, September 15 | FREE – Miller celebrates Mexican Independence Day and kicks off the official start of Hispanic Heritage Month, with the stirring traditional grito ceremony followed by a rousing the incomparable Lupita Infante, joined by special guest Jacqie Rivera. 7:30pm.

El Baile de Loteria at MATCH | Tuesday, September 16 & Wednesday, September 17 – The Pilot Dance Project presents El Baile de Loteria, based on the traditional Mexican board game. $15+. 7:30pm both days.
Latinx Poetry Open Mic Night at Avant Garden | Wednesday, September 17 – Zachary Caballero and Padilla & Rodriguez, LLP host this night of open mic poetry from Write About Now that celebrates the voices of Latinx poets. $13+. 7:30pm to 10:30pm.
A Closer Look: Hispanic Heritage Month at Kleb Woods | Thursday, September 18 – Explore Hispanic culture, traditions, and history with a presentation and a bilingual nature scavenger hunt in Tomball. Registration is required. 10:30am.
Elefante Tribute Band Rooftop Concert at Post Houston | Friday, September 19 – Experience the ’90s band from Mexico City, Elefante’s greatest hits live while enjoying the stunning Houston skyline views through the night. $23.44. 8pm to 10pm.
Latina Entrepreneurship Conference 2025 at George R. Brown Convention Center | Saturday, September 20 – Hosted by Latina Leadership Podcast, this one-day conference invites Latina entrepreneurs to come together in-person and virtually for a day of panels, keynote sessions, breakout workshops, and conversations where business owners can showcase their ventures and learn how to grow them. $25. 9am to 5pm.
Tequila & Tacos Festival at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday, September 20 – Sip on your choice of 72+ tequilas and mezcals, enjoy 22 mixology stations, try handcrafted cocktails, and snack on tacos at Kemah Boardwalk. $75. 4pm to 7pm.

Viva Latin America: Tango Time at Zilkha Hall at The Hobby Center | Saturday, September 20 – Houston Latin American Philharmonic honors Maestro René Casarsa from Argentina with a live performance. 8pm.
Pride Chorus Houston & Coro Gay Ciudad de México: Mi Familia at Wortham Center | Saturday, September 20 – Known for lavish, thrilling, and poignant productions, Mexico City’s gay choir teams up with Pride Chorus Houston for the first time ever for a live concert showcasing Mexican pop and Latin music that made it big in the US. $28+ 8pm.

Latin Fest at Central Green Park | Saturday, September 27 | FREE – This year’s Latin Fest in Katy will feature Marisela y su son Karibe, known for hosting amazing dance parties and high-energy performances. 6pm to 9pm.
Dia de la Hispanidad at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, September 27 | FREE – The Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston (IHCH), presents a program highlighting South America, Central America, North American and the Caribbean’s Latin islands through dance, music, and audiovisual presentations. 7:30pm.
Ana Gabriel in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, September 27 – Known to fans as “La Luna de América”, the Mexican singer and songwriter, Ana Gabriel, hits Downtown’s arena stage. $89+. 8pm.

Pre-Grito Party at Baytown Town Square | Friday, October 3 | FREE – Get the Grito Fest rolling with a live show by Los Hermanos Lara, along with Mixteco Ballet Folklorico, and Mariachi Houston Latin. 6pm.
Grito Fest at Bicentennial Park in Baytown | Saturday, October 4 | FREE – Baytown’s main celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month offers a grito competition, jalapeño eating contest, dance performances, and music from David Marez Band, El Cartel De Nuevo Leon, and Los Herederos. 4:30pm to 10pm.

4th Annual Community Altar Workshop at Holocaust Museum Houston | Saturday, October 11 | FREE – The workshop sees participants gathering to explore the meaning and significance of Día de los Muertos through craft making and working together to build an altar. 2pm to 4pm.
