  • The Riot Comedy Club presents Andy Haynes at Rudyard’s Pub | Friday & Saturday – The Seattle native, writer, stand up comedian and actor comes to Houston for three shows. He’s appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, Comedy Central Presents, Pete Holmes Show, and Comedy Central’s Roast Battle. $20 and up. Times vary.
  • Tomball German Heritage Festival in Old Downtown Tomball | Friday to Sunday | FREE – Tomball’s annual German Fest fills the streets with more than 200 vendors rocking antiques, arts and crafts, and more; plus cultural music, street performances, a Heritage Center, and tasty German fare, festival eats, and beer and wine. Times vary.
  • Bayou City Art Festival in Downtown Houston | Saturday & Sunday – Houston’s iconic art festival returns this spring with artwork from more than 250 artists across 19 different categories, all on display for festival goers to browse and take home. The weekend festival will also showcase two entertainment stages, a food truck park, culinary stages, beverage stations and more. $18; free for ages 12 and under. 10am to 6pm.
  • Ghibli Fest Art Market at Karbach Brewing Co. | Saturday & Sunday | No Cover – More than 30 artists unveil their creations inspired by every Miyazaki film, from the magical world of Spirited Away to the whimsical adventures of My Neighbor Totoro. It’s a chance to see unique works and talk with the artists who created them. Saturday 11am to 8pm; Sunday 11am to 6pm.

  • Circle Jerks & Descendents at House of Blues – It’s about to be punk rock mayhem when the triad of punk rock legends—Circle Jerks, the Descendants, and the Adolescents—head to the heart of Downtown Houston. $37.50 and up. 6:30pm.
  • Devendra Banhart at White Oak Music Hall – Houston-born citizen of the world, the freak-folk artist Devendra Banhart returns to his hometown in celebration of his eleventh studio album, Flying Wig. Kat Bollinger supports. $30 and up. 7pm.
  • Wheatus Acoustic Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – Listen to “Teenage Dirtbag” with the Mucky Duck crowd as the leader of the iconic nineties alt band, Wheatus, brings the many-times viral hit song to the stage in an intimate and acoustic set. $30. 7pm.

  • Wednesday Whiskey, Beer & BBQ Night at Bandits Dance Hall | No Cover – Midtown’s recently expanded country venue celebrates Texas goodness at a weekly series with tasty ‘cue from South Texas Heat, $5 Jack Daniels and $2 off other whiskeys all night, $4 beers ($2 before 7pm), plus dancing and free pool, darts, and country karaoke. 4pm to 2am.
  • Jimbo’s Drag Circus at House of Blues – Canadian drag queen and winner of season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, Jimbo brings a fabulous Drag Circus show to Downtown. $37.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Comedian Jim Gaffigan at Smart Financial Centre – The renowned deadpan comedian returns to Sugar Land following up a series of sold-out shows in recent years. $41 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Scarface in Concert at Warehouse Live Midtown – After a stunning performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts, Houston OG rap icon Scarface takes the stage in Midtown for a Behind the Desk Experience show. $49.50 and up. 8pm.

  • Drag Bingo at Star Sailor – Join the University of Houston’s LGBTQ Alumni for a night of drag performances, bingo and philanthropy in the Heights. $30 and up. 6pm.
  • Pawsitive Connections Happy Hour & Networking at Cottonwood | FREE – Join like-minded individuals that work with, volunteer for, or just care about pets at this Garden Oaks spot on North Shepherd. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Salsa Night at Post Houston | FREE – Head Downtown to learn Salsa, Bachata and other Latin dance styles. Love Dance HTX instructors will teach you how to move with the music, and social dancing follows the class. Reservations required. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Shotgun Willie in Concert at Warehouse Live Midtown – Come hear the tunes of legendary country artist Willie Nelson when Shotgun Willie brings a tribute set to Midtown. $7.50 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Juanes in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The Colombian musician makes a stop in Houston on his North American Tour. The winner of 26 Latin Grammy Awards, he’s among the most popular Latin artists of all time. His music blends cumbia, salsa, vallenato and the rural Antioquian genre known as guasca. $53.45 and up. 8pm.

Friday, March 22, 2024 

  • Stay Tooned: A Tribute to ‘90s Cartoons at Hardy & Nance Studios | FREE – This art show features the work of more than 40 local artists, paying tribute to the cartoons of the 1990s. Expect work inspired by an era of cartoons that so many of us grew up with and remember for their smart presentation and bizarreness. 7pm to 11pm.
  • An Evening with Squirrel Nut Zippers at the Heights Theater – The music from New Orleans’ Back O’Town neighborhood comes alive in this concert that transports audiences to the birthplace of jazz. Expect an evening of music from the late 19th century through the Roaring 20s performed in era-appropriate attire. $28 and up. 8pm.
  • Fatima Hajji DJ Set at Bauhaus – The Spanish DJ returns to the Downtown venue for an evening of her signature electrifying and fun performance style. Blending her Spanish and Arab roots into her techno grooves, she’s been lauded for “her strong and energizing approach” by The Groove Cartel. $15 and up. 10pm.
  • Nora En Pure DJ Set at Stereo Live – The Swiss-South African DJ and deep house producer who’s a household name in EDM brings her energetic sound to Houston for a live set. She “has a way of weaving a groove that you cannot resist moving along to,” said the Detroit Metro Times. $24.99. 10pm.

Saturday, March 23, 2024 

  • Crawfish Boil at Truck Yard | No Cover – Head to EaDo for this celebration of the beloved mudbug. Cocktails and other alcoholic drinks, as well as food trucks offering cheesesteaks and nachos, are part of the festivities. 11am to 2am.
  • Texas Champions Day & Astronaut Run at Sam Houston Race Park – Come out and watch the best thoroughbred horses in Texas compete in seven-stakes races for more than $575,000 in purse money. Plus, everyone is welcome to sign up for the 2nd Annual Astronaut Run, where you’re encouraged to dress like an astronaut and pound some pavement. $5 and up. 1pm.
  • Indo Warehouse featuring Kahani & Kunal Merchant at Bauhaus – The record label and artist collective known as Indo Warehouse brings South Asian culture and rhythm to the Downtown spot for dance music with a full day of featured artists, including Kahani, Kunal Merchant, ALX, Anderson, Sasa and Jupji Singh. $20 and up. 4pm to 10pm.
  • Thorn & Moon’s Spring Equinox Festival at St. Arnold Brewery | FREE – Celebrate the springtime with dozens of local vendors doling out goods and wares in the strange and occult, along with tarot readings and delicious food and brews from St. Arnold’s. 6pm to 11pm.
  • Ultimate Sports Trivia at Houston Flying Saucer | No Cover – More than $500 in prizes are on the line as the Downtown brew destination hosts its most challenging trivia game yet. Expect three dozen questions and challenges, designed to test your sports knowledge. You can go it alone or grab friends and form a team. 7pm.
  • Underworld’s Gothic Beauty Pageant at Numbers Nightclub – The annual event returns, bringing with it an evening of dark elegance and enchanting beauty. Contestants show off their fierce personalities and individual gothic style, vying for the titles of Gothic Beauty King and Queen. Cover charge at the door. 9pm to 2am.

Sunday, March 24, 2024 

  • Brunchateame Fest 2024 at Fabian’s Latin Flavors | No Cover – Dig into a Latin brunch at Fabian’s in Downtown, highlighted by Bachata music, a complimentary Bachata lesson, boutique vendors, art and more. Prices vary. Noon.
  • Super Happy Toy Show & Art Market at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | FREE – This all-ages event at Saint A’s offers a chance to browse and take home vintage and collectible toys and artwork, while getting to also celebrate Easter a little early. Enjoy a special Easter egg hunt and be ready to snap a photo with the visiting Bunny. Noon to 6pm.
  • Heavy Metal Market & Oddities at Brash Brewing Company | No Cover – Come together to shop merch, records and more at this heavy metal vendor showcase held at the unapologetic brewery near Garden Oaks. 1pm to 7pm.
  • Not-Your-Grannies Easter Bonnet Workshop at MarMo Plaza Cafe – Swing by the Galveston cafe for a fresh take on a seasonal celebration where you’ll channel your creativity to craft headdresses while sipping cocktails. $50. 2pm to 3:30pm.
  • Lego Night at North Shepherd Brewing – Come out and build your Lego masterpiece on North Shepherd. Choose from eight different sets and get to building while you sip on brews in the taproom. Pro tip: pre-order to reserve the set you want. $14.99 and up. 4pm.
  • Comedian Jim Norton at House of Blues – The stand up comedian, radio personality, bestselling author and actor, and co-host of Sirius XM’s The Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show comes to Houston for a live set. Expect an evening of refreshingly unapologetic humor. $41.75 and up. 7pm.
  • Moe Bandy in Concert at Main Street Crossing – The Tomball live music venue welcomes the Texas native, former bull rider and hitmaker behind songs like “Hank Williams, You Wrote My Life,” “Till I’m Too Old To Die Young,”  “Americana,” “It’s A Cheatin’ Situation” and more. $75 and up. 8pm.
