Things to Do All Weekend Long

  • Houston Latino Film Festival 2022 at MATCH | Daily – The sixth annual festival screens more than 80 features and short films across five days from emerging and established filmmakers based in the United States and Latin America. Screenings are $12; All Access passes are $45 and include access to all workshops, panels and film screenings. Times vary.
  • Comedian Felipe Esparza at Houston Improv | Daily – The Mexican stand-up comic—and winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing—can be seen most recently in his 2020 Netflix special, Bad Decisions, and the network’s series, Gentefied. Now, he performs four straight nights of his hilarious material at the Improv. Tickets are sold by the table; $90 for 2 and up. Times vary.
  • 47th Annual Houston Fishing Show at George R. Brown Convention Center | Daily – Gear up when the long-running Houston Fishing Show returns to Downtown, featuring everything you need—from rods and reels to boats and workshops—for your next fishing expedition. $15; $3 for ages 6 to 12. Times vary.
  • Two Star Symphony at Montrose Collective | Friday & Saturday | FREE – The CAMHLAB artists-in-residence take to the new development near Montrose and Westheimer for a final performance of new works produced during their residency. 7pm to 8pm.
  • Comedian Steve Gillespie at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday & Saturday – The L.A. comedian, who most recently performed on Conan and topped the charts with his second album, Alive on State, performs back-to-back nights at the Montrose British pub. $15 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Lyle Lovett & his Acoustic Group at the Grand 1894 Opera House | Friday & Saturday – The legendary Texas country musician (and Houston native) performs two nights at the Grand in Galveston, bringing a slew of his career-spanning hits to the stage. $30 and up. 8pm.
  • 50th Bayou City Art Festival in Memorial Park | Friday to Sunday – Take to Memorial Park and stroll more than 300 artists and their unique works on display at the 50th celebration of the Bayou City Art Festival. Visitors can also enjoy food trucks, live music and other family-friendly fun across three days. $15; $5 for ages 6 to 12. 10am to 6pm.
  • Tomball German Heritage Festival at Historic Train Depot Plaza | Friday to Sunday | FREE – Get down at the annual German Festival in Tomball, featuring three days of live music, games and competitions, folk dances, dozens of local vendors, and plenty of polka. Times vary.
  • Harbor Lantern Festival at Popfancy Dessert Bar | Friday to Sunday – The Bellaire sweets destination offers up an experience infused with a themed menu, live music, cosplay contest, games, photo-ops, and more. $2 reservations required. 1pm to 10pm daily. 
  • College Baseball: Houston Cougars vs. Western Carolina University at Schroeder Park | Friday to Sunday – It’s Kids Weekend in this three-game series at the UH baseball field, where kids can also score a free replica jersey at the Saturday matchup. $10 and up for adults; $5 and up for ages under 12. Friday and Saturday 6:30pm; Sunday 1pm.
  • Katy Home & Garden Show at Katy ISD Ag Center | Saturday & Sunday – Plot your next remodeling plan at this two-day show that features everything dedicated to home improvement, decor, landscapes and outdoor entertainment. In addition to the Spring Gift Market which will also take place, you can enjoy food sampling, special guests and more. $7; free for ages 12 and under. Saturday 10am to 6pm; Sunday 11am to 5pm.
  • Crosby Zydeco Festival at Crosby Fairgrounds | Saturday & Sunday – In Crosby, catch back-to-back days of Zydeco celebration at this festival filled with live concerts, delicious foods, games, and more. Tickets are $25 each day; $5 for ages under 13. Doors at noon, performances start around 3pm.
