Now in its 22nd year, the Lunar New Year Festival returns again to the Chinese Community Center in Asiatown, offering a morning and afternoon packed with celebrations, performances, flavors, vendors, and more to celebrate the Year of the Snake and Houston’s rich Asian tapestry.
One of the city’s biggest festivals honoring the Chinese New Year, the yearly tradition showcases the beauty of Houston’s vast cultural diversity with a bustling marketplace, hands-on cultural activities and crafts, exciting dragon and tiger dances that serve as the fest’s main attraction, and more.
Perfect for the whole family, the free Lunar New Year Festival is a great way to explore the Chinese zodiac, learn traditions like calligraphy and origami, and immerse yourself in Asian culture through more than 50 local vendors serving up diverse cuisine, unique goods, artisan crafts, and more.
