Comedian Russell Peters at Houston Improv | Thursday to Saturday – The comedian recently named one of the 50 Best Comics of All Time by Rolling Stone comes to Houston for 6 shows across 3 nights. $110 for 2 and up. Times vary.

Comedian Pat Burtscher at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – The Canadian comic brings his signature humor to Houston for 2 shows, sharing his observations on life, love and more. $22 and up. 7pm both nights.

Comedian Joe List at the Secret Group | Friday & Saturday – The Last Comic Standing finalist lands in the Secret Room’s Box for 4 shows over 2 nights. $25 advance; $30 day of. 7pm and 9pm both days.

Houston Grand Opera: West Side Story at Wortham Center | Friday & Sunday  – Transporting Shakespeare’s story of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet to a New York setting, the beloved musical comes to the Downtown stage courtesy of HGO. $25 and up. Showtimes vary.

Lunar New Year Celebration at Space Center Houston | Saturday & Sunday – Celebrate the Year of the Snake with cultural activities, fascinating facts about the moon, and fun, hands-on science experiments. $29.95; $24.95 for ages 4 to 11. 10am to 4pm both days.

Monster Jam at NRG Stadium | Saturday & Sunday –  See the beastly mayhem unleashed when 12,000-pound monster trucks defy gravity and take flight, pulling off tricks that’ll shake the ground beneath them. Times vary.

TUTS: Mean Girls at the Hobby Center | Daily – TUTS welcomes the national tour of the Broadway musical that finds Cady Heron coping with Queen Bees and cliques of high school. $34.50 and up. Showtimes vary.

Drunk Shakespeare at the Emerald Theatre | Daily – Five fearless actors take on a Shakespearian classic after downing several shots of assorted liquors, sending the show in unexpected directions. I Set My Friends on Fire in Concert at The Secret Group – Burn up the dance floor at a live show from the post-hardcore group known for “WTFWJD” and “Sex Ed Rocks.” Enthronement and Medusa Complex open. $18 and up. Doors at 6pm.

Fashion Fusion Runway Show at MFAH | FREE – Students from Houston Community College’s acclaimed fashion design program present works inspired by the Arts of Asia—highlighting the art of China, India, Japan, and Korea in the MFAH galleries. Free; $25 for seating with a drink. 7pm.

Imperfect Strangers: Meet, Dine, Connect at a Secret Location – Dine with like-minded strangers, play icebreaker games, enjoy tasty food, at a meal meetup where you’ll be paired with your table mates based on your advance questionnaire. $21 entry; food and drink paid after the meal. 7pm.

Matt the Electrician in Concert at Anderson Fair Retail Restaurant – The Austin-based folk and pop singer-songwriter—and ex-electrician—performs a live show at the intimate music venue tucked away a block away from Montrose Boulevard. $25. 7pm to 11pm.

Nick Shoulders & The Okay Crawdad in Concert at The Heights Theater – The singer blending country roots with punk defiance brings his group to Houston, playing songs from All Badtheir first LP since 2019. Georgia Parker joins. $20 and up. 8pm.

Salsa Bachata Night Party at North Shepherd Brewing – All skill levels are welcome to night of salsa bachata lessons and a dance social in the Heights. $20; $30 for couples. 8pm to 11:30pm.

The Man in Black in Concert at Dosey Doe The Big Barn – Singer Shawn Barker brings his award-winning Johnny Cash tribute show to the Tomball landmark for an evening of hits like “Walk the Line” and “Folsom Prison Blues.” $108 and up. 8:30pm.

Astro Inn in Concert at Dan Electro’s – The Houston indie pop band, fresh off their latest single, “I Try” performs live at the Heights club. Bayou City Funk opens. $15 and up. 9pm.

Matthew Logan Vasquez in Concert at The Continental Club – Best-known as the co-founder and frontman for shape shifting heartland indie rockers Delta Spirit, Vasquez brings his indie rock, electronic pop, R&B, and soulful Americana to the legendary Midtown venue. Skyler Rose opens. $20; $25 day of. 9pm.

A-Trak and Chapter & Verse Live Set at Bauhaus – The Canadian DJ known for hip-hop, electronic, and house music joins with the UK DJ quickly making a name on the tech house scene spin the decks for an evening of jams. $15 and up. 11pm to 2am.

JVNA at Noto – This Lunar New Year-themed show features an evening of captivating electronic beats and unforgettable energy in the EaDo nightclub. $10 and up. 10pm to 2am.

New Orleans Bounce Night Light Bike Ride at Third Ward Tours – Let’s Do This Houston leads a 2-hour, inner Loop Houston bike tour with bounce music vibes and stops for food and drinks along the route. $12 with your own bike; $35 with bike rental. 5pm. 

Reliquaries Opening Reception at Archway Gallery | FREE –  Be one of the first to see the Montrose gallery’s February exhibit, featuring new works by glass artists Chris Alexander and Deborah Ellington and  delving into glass’ paradox as a medium. 5pm to 8pm; artist talk at 6:30pm.

​​Comedian Kumail Nanjiani at 713 Music Hall – The Pakistani-American stand-up comic and actor, perhaps best known for his role as Dinesh on HBO’s Silicon Valley, brings his Doing This Again tour to the Post Houston stage. $53 and up. 7pm.

Comedian David Nihill at House of Blues – The Irish comedian and winner of the San Francisco Comedy Competition—featured on Sirius XM, Just For Laughs, Netflix is a Joke Festival, and more—brings his Shelf Help Tour to Downtown. $41 and up. 7pm.

Latin Mafia in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The Mexican indie pop band that blends reggaetón, R&B, trap, and house music performs a live concert of hits like “Neo Roneo,” “Yo Siempre Contesto” and more. $200 and up. 7pm.

AJ Ghent & His Singing Guitar at House of Blues – The third generation singer-songwriter and pedal steel guitar player who became a viral sensation for making his guitar sing brings his chops to the Bronze Peacock Room upstairs at House of Blues. $35 and up. 7pm.

Beyond Broadway: Adrienne Warren at the Hobby Center – The singer and actress, who won a Tony Award for her headlining portrayal in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, comes to Houston for this intimate concert of songs from Broadway and beyond. $42.40 and up. 7:30pm.

Houston Grand Opera: La Boheme at Wortham Center – Puccini’s epic love story takes audiences to Paris, drawing them into the lives of bohemians seeking love and the beauty of life. Future dates available. $25 and up. 7:30pm.

Performing Arts Houston: Complexions Contemporary Ballet at Jones Hall – The acclaimed ballet troupe, known for its groundbreaking approach to the art, celebrates 30 years with a performance showcasing new and favorite pieces. $19 and up. 7:30pm.

The Gatlin Brothers Celebrate 70 Years Together at The Grand 1894 Opera House– After entertaining audiences for 7 decades, the legendary, Grammy-winning brothers—Larry, Steve and Rudy—play the 130-year old stage. $31.50. 8pm.

Pink Sweat$ in Concert at Cullen Performance Hall – The American singer, songwriter and record producer, known for the albums Pink Planet and Pink Moon, and music blending R&B and soul performs live at the University of Houston Downtown. $19.50 and up. 8pm. 

Nite in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – Twin brothers Myles and Kyle Mendes bring an evening of darkwave, synthpop, and post–punk to HTown from Dallas.$15. 8pm.

TV Dolls, Loose Helmet, The Nerver Curlers & Matamoros at The Kickback Bar – The East End dive bar hosts an evening of surf punk. ’80s alt-wave and freakbeat sounds. Four bands take the stage, letting you groove all night long. $10. 8pm to 2am.

Sonofuse Live Set at Numbers – Start the month with this night of curated techno vibrations by Mike Beck, Mutant Pete, Spvcekitty and Trè, offering a series of sets designed to get you dancing. $10. 9pm to 2am.

Guzzlers 30th Anniversary Party at Goode Co. Armadillo Palace – Expect a performance blending classic rock, country, soul, and more as “Houston’s No.1 Party Band” marks 3 decades of making music. $27.76. 3pm.

Kumar Sanu & Sadhana Sargam: Aashiqui Live at Cullen Performance Hall – Known for their legendary careers as playback singers in Indian cinema—primarily performing in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Nepali and Tamil language—Sanu and Sargam bring their mesmerizing melodies and soulful songs to Cullen’s Downtown stage. $35 and up. 7pm.

Death From Above 1979 in Concert at The Heights Theater – The Canadian rock duo from Toronto pops up in the Heights. Teen Mortgage opens. $28 and up. 8pm.

Grupo Niche in Concert at Arena Theatre – The legendary salsa band, originally formed in Columbia in 11978 brings a lively Sunday night to West Houston. $34 and up. 8:30pm.
