A little over 20 miles north of Downtown, Spring mixes old town charm with a suburban feel, boasting quaint streets and shops, pick-your-own farms and fun attractions, tasty restaurants, fun bars for a night on the town, and plenty of tasty brunch spots.

Common Bond Bistro & Bakery

Cult favorite local bakery and bistro Common Bond hosts an outpost in City Place, open in the early morning hours starting at 7am on Saturday and Sunday. Brunch starts at 11am, rocking offerings like soft scramble with fresh herbs and parmesan, buttermilk biscuits & jalapeño pork sausage gravy, blackened gulf shrimp & grits, wild mushroom & goat cheese flatbread, and all the decadent pastries to satisfy that sweet tooth—chocolate and pistachio croissants, scones and sticky buns, chocolate chip cookies and more.

Saturday and Sunday 11am to close.

Corkscrew BBQ

Whoever said you couldn’t barbecue for brunch? One of Houston’s best smokehouses, and the only ‘cue in Houston to earn a Michelin star to date, Corkscrew BBQ, sits in Old Town, open on Saturdays and offering glistening pork ribs, beautifully crusted oak-smoked brisket, and a killer over-loaded baked potato (plus beers, freshly ground coffee, and sweet tea).

Items go until they are sold out, so if you’re looking for something specific, show up when doors open.

Wednesday to Sunday 11am to sold out; closed Sunday through Tuesday. Directions.

Envy Wine Room

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon of wines and bites at Envy Wine Room in Historic Old Town Spring.

The quaint spot opens at 11am on Saturday and noon on Sunday, with shareables like goat cheese fritters and charcuterie boards alongside entrees from Caesar salads and pork belly pizzas to veggie burgers and Chardonnay rubbed salmon.

Tack on reds, whites, roses and bubbles, and some limoncello cake for good measure.

Saturday 11am to 10pm; Sunday noon to 9pm.

SwitcHouse Plates & Pours

Located in the Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village, SwitcHouse Plates & Pours offers a modern-rustic vibe with a menu focused on iron, oak, and smoke, plus cocktails to boot.

At brunch, that means fried chicken and waffles, shrimp and smoked gouda grits, Tejas buttermilk pancakes, and zesty bloody Marys.
