Take advantage of free museum entry for military servicemen and women at the National Museum of Funeral History’s (NMFH) Veterans Appreciation Week from Saturday, November 5 through Sunday, November 13, 2016.
In honor of Veterans Day, the National Museum of Funeral History is giving back to past and active military by offering free general admission to veterans and active military servicemen and women for an entire week.
The Museum features several exhibits that pay tribute to those who have so bravely served and given their life for our country, including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Reflections on the Wall, a photography exhibit on the dedication of the Vietnam Memorial, as well as an exhibit on military funeral traditions.

Holiday Canned Food Drive
Since millions of people die each year from hunger, the museum is taking a stand and joining the fight against hunger.
Throughout the entire months of November and December 2016, each NMFH visitor who brings a non-perishable canned food donation will receive $2 off admission.
Benefiting the Houston Food Bank, the canned food drive gives NMFH visitors a chance to give back to Houstonians in need.
Community Memorial Tree
In December, the NMFH will also be decorating a special holiday tree in honor of the departed friends and family of local communities.
Visitors can memorialize a lost loved one by creating a holiday ornament at the Museum. The ornament will be displayed on the holiday tree in the Museum’s rotating exhibit space. Families are also welcome to decorate and take home a special ornament for their own tree.
United We Stand, United We Signed 9/11 Memorial Exhibit at NMFH
Featuring hundreds of memorial books from Dignity Memorial funeral homes across the country that were put out to express condolences following 9/11, United We Stand, United We Signed explores grief and the healing process on a nationwide scale.
The memorial books serve as building blocks for a powerful visual within the exhibit which set the tone for museum visitors who have their own opportunity to share experiences as they reflect on where they were at the time the twin towers fell.
Entrance into United We Stand, United We Signed exhibit at NMFH is included in the price of general admission to the museum.
