Whether you want to take your love out for dinner, shake things up with a beer and cheese pairing or stay in and add a box of chocolates to your low-key plans, we’ve created a list of our favorites happening the weekend of Valentine’s Day 2016.

Dinner

  • Américas in River Oaks and The Woodlands | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Savor the flavors of Latin America with a three-course menu from chef David Cordúa. Enjoy favorites like the signature churrasco steak and tres leches. The special menu will be offered Friday to Sunday for $75 per person.
  • Anejo Tex Mex in Uptown Park | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Enjoy a sharable Mexican feast complete with queso or guac, fajitas, dessert and a tequila flight for two at Anejo.The special menu will be offered Friday to Sunday for $100 per couple.
  • Anvil Bar & Refuge in Montrose | Valentine’s Day Dinner & Music – Head to Anvil for a candlelit evening complete with live jazz, grower champagne, cocktails, bar bites and a rose for the ladies. This special event is taking place on Sunday for $75 per person with seatings at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm. Reservations available in person with a limited number of tables available for walk-ins.
  • ARA at Royal Sonesta Houston in Uptown | Special Valentine’s Day Menu – Royal Sonesta’s ARA Restaurant is offering a decadent four-course prix fixe menu with options like marinated salmon, duck confit pasta and steak au poivre. If you’re all about the main course, skip the prix fixe menu and order the dinner special – a tomahawk steak and whole lobster – a surf & turf dish that’s perfect for splitting. The special menu will be offered Sunday for $65 per person; $85 per person with wine pairings. The dinner special will be offered Sunday for $88 per couple.
  • Backstreet Café in River Oaks | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu Choose a four-course meal to yourself on Valentine’s Day or a sharable menu with your own entrée the Friday and Saturday before at chef Hugo Ortega’s Backstreet Café. The special menu for couples will be offered Friday and Saturday for $95 per couple. A separate menu will be offered on Sunday for $75 per person.
  • Big Eyed Fish on Washington Avenue | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Choose between dishes like beet pasta, spicy mussels and lamb chops during this prix fixe menu at Big Eyed Fish. In addition to three courses, each couple will get a special gift and dessert to share. The special menu will be offered Friday to Sunday for $75 per person with seatings at 5:30pm, 7pm and 8:30pm.
  • Brennan’s of Houston in Midtown | Special Valentine’s Day Menu – Feast on three courses of Creole-infused dishes from Brennan’s of Houston’s prix fixe menu. The special menu will be offered Sunday for $75 per person.
  • Caracol in Uptown | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Escape to the beaches of Mexico with a coastal menu from chef Hugo Ortega – either a four-course meal to yourself on Valentine’s Day or a sharable menu with your own entrée the Friday and Saturday before at Caracol. The special menu for couples will be offered Friday and Saturday for $110 per couple. A separate menu will be offered on Sunday for $75 per person.
  • Hugo’s in Montrose | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu Go with an authentic Mexican menu from chef Hugo Ortega – either a four-course meal to yourself on Valentine’s Day or a three-course meal with a sharable dessert the Friday and Saturday before at Hugo’s. The special menu for couples will be offered Friday and Saturday for $95 per couple. A separate menu will be offered on Sunday for $75 per person.
  • Paul’s Kitchen in Upper Kirby | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Have a romantic evening in Paris without leaving Houston during this four-course Parisian dinner at Paul’s Kitchen. Select your choice of dishes like black truffle laced brie, beef filet, gingerbread crusted foie gras and duck breast. The special menu will be offered Friday to Sunday for $65 per person, $100 per person with wine pairings.
  • Pour Society in Uptown & Katy | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Enjoy oysters, steak and a “milk & cookies” dessert at Pour Society. Pair your three-course menu with a “Love Potion #9” – the restaurant’s specialty cocktail. The special menu will be offered Friday to Sunday for $99 per couple.
  • Prego in Rice Village | Special Valentine’s Weekend Dish – Order one of the off-the-menu special – including lamb osso buco, Maine lobster and buffalo filet mignon, or a surf-and-turf combo of the lobster and filet – at chef Hugo Ortega’s Prego. The special dishes will be offered Friday to Sunday, the surf & turf combo will be available for $88 per person.
  • Prohibition Supperclub & Bar in Downtown | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – “Don’t speak a word” at Prohibition’s three-course dinner featuring braised short rib, butter poached lobster tail and pan roasted grouper. The special menu will be offered Thursday to Sunday for $65 per person.
  • Quattro Restaurant at the Four Seasons in Downtown | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Enjoy a three-course dinner and specialty cocktails at the Four Seasons’ Quattro Restaurant. The special menu will be offered Saturday and Sunday for $65 per person, $100 with wine pairings, with seatings at 5:30pm and 8pm.
  • Radio Milano in CityCentre | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Indulge in a four-course menu at Radio Milano featuring dishes like veal cheeks and passionfruit-champagne sorbetto prepared by chef Jose Hernandez. The special menu will be offered Saturday and Sunday for $85 per person.
  • Roost in MontroseSpecial Valentine’s Day Menu – In addition to their regular menu, Roost is offering a three-course feast complete with dishes like duck two ways, tofu and mushroom Marsala and fried green tomatoes. The special menu will be offered Sunday for $85 per person.
  • Tony Mandola’s in River Oaks / Montrose | Special Valentine’s Weekend Menu – Spend the evening eating delicious seafood with an Italian flair from Tony Mandola’s menu that includes three-courses plus an amuse-bouche to share. The special menu will be offered Friday to Sunday for $59.95 per person; $74.95 with wine pairings.

Brunch, Tastings and Treats

  • Cacao and Cardamom in Uptown | Special Valentine’s Treat – Treat the one you love to artisanal chocolates in traditional sweetheart candy shapes from Cacao and Cardamom. Chocolatier Annie Rupani has created seven new creations combining unique flavors like star anise, pistachio, fig and cilantro into her chocolates. Gift boxes range from $12 to $58.
  • Paul’s Kitchen in Upper Kirby | Special Valentine’s Day Brunch – Fill up on a buffet of fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, eggs benedict, fruit, and more, and end the meal with sugary treats from the “sweet station” at Paul’s Kitchen. The special brunch buffet is $29, $12 for children.
  • Quattro Restaurant at the Four Seasons in Downtown | Special Valentine’s Day Brunch – Head over to the Four Seasons’ Quattro Restaurant for a brunch buffet and cocktails with your loved ones. The special brunch buffet is $59 (includes cocktails), $26 for children.
  • Reserve 101 in Downtown | Valentine’s Weekend Scotch & Chocolate Pairing – Nosh on gourmet chocolates from Cacao & Cardamom and savor Glenfiddich scotch during this tasting at Reserve 101. $65. Saturday at 8pm and 10pm; Sunday at 7pm.
  • The Tasting Room in Uptown Park | Valentine’s Weekend Wine & Chocolate Pairing – Enjoy fine wines paired perfectly with artisanal chocolates from Araya during this pairing at The Tasting Room. $20 or $30.
  • The West End in Uptown | Special Valentine’s Day Brunch – Start your Valentine’s Day at The West End with an order of raspberry cheesecake stuffed French toast, crab cake eggs benedict or lemon cheesecake pancakes and a festive cocktail like the “berries & bubbles” or “cupid float” in-hand. Brunch menu is a la carte.
