43rd Annual Galveston Island Oktoberfest at First Lutheran Church of Galveston | Friday & Saturday | FREE – Galveston’s family-friendly festival returns with 2 days of free entertainment, food, rides, and games. Times vary. Learn more.
The Abyss at Terror Isle Adventures Haunted House | Friday to Sunday | Ongoing – Plunges into a terrifying underwater nightmare, where a cursed treasure unleashes a plague across Terror Isle. $27+. 7pm to 11pm both nights. Get tickets.
11th Annual Park to Port Bike Ride at Hermann Park | Saturday – Join an all ages social ride from the Museum District park to the Port of Houston and back, with parties at both the halfway point and the end. $50; register for both the ride and November’s Run in the Park and save $10 on the combo. 8am. 12th Annual Magnolia Park Dia de los Muertos Festival & Parade at Hidalgo Park | Saturday | FREE – The East End’s Día de los Muertos celebration kicks off with a parade, followed by a festival with food, kids activities, cultural performances, and live music. 9am parade; 10am to 4pm fest. Halloween in the Hangar at Lone Star Flight Museum | Saturday – The museum hosts Halloween fun that soars, complete with bat gliders, a pumpkin parachute drop, pumpkin catapult challenge, a skeleton structure challenge, Halloween story time, and more. Scream on the Green at Discovery Green | Saturday | FREE (Canceled) – Update 10/23: The event was canceled due to expected rain, but everyone is still welcome to submit costume photos for an online costume contest with prizes until the end of on Halloween night on Friday, October 31, 2025. Scream on the Green returns with a costume contest, living sculptures, palm readers and psychics, games, music, and a screening of the 2024 movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (PG-13) at 7pm. 6pm to 10pm. Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival 2025 at Nature Discovery Center | Saturday & Sunday | No Cover – The annual festival includes games, crafts and activities, treats, informal family photo ops, animals, and plenty of pumpkins. Happy Haunts Spooktacular at Jubilee | Sunday | FREE – The Hockley community invites families out for a safe and exciting trick-or-treat trail winding through 9 model homes, complete with games, Halloween crafts, a live DJ, inflatables, food and drink, photo opportunities, food trucks, and more. 6th Annual Hike, Bike & Fright Fest at M-K-T in the Heights | Sunday | FREE – All ages can get into the spooky spirit with an afternoon of kid and pet-friendly trick or treating, Halloween cocktails, a HalloGreen edition of the Houston Plant Market, giveaways, shopping deals, live DJs and entertainment, performers, and more. Diwali Lights at Asia Society Texas Center | Sunday | FREE with RSVP – Celebrate one of India’s most cherished holidays at a family-friendly festival of lights that includes vibrant Indian fashion, food, hands-on activities, and a captivating Ramayana performance at 5pm.
