  • NCAA Final Four FanFest at George R. Brown in Downtown | Monday, April 4 – Round out Houston’s Final Four weekend at the final day of FanFest. $10 for adults, free for kids. Noon to 7pm.
  • NCAA Final Four National Championship at NRG Stadium | Monday, April 4 – Spring for the big game and see Villanova face off against the University of North Carolina to see who’s number one. 8:19pm.
  • Family Storybook Circle at Museum of Fine Arts | Tuesday, April 5 – Read a story in the galleries and learn about the art related to the story! Included with Museum Admission. 11am.
  • Theatre Under The Stars presents Oliver! at Hobby Center | Daily Starting Tuesday, April 5 – The classic Broadway musical based on Dicken’s Oliver Twist comes to Houston, featuring many of Houston’s brightest young talent in key roles. Tickets start at $37.50. Showtimes vary.
  • Mommy Mingle at the Children’s Museum | Wednesday, April 6 – Let the little ones play while parents enjoy coffee and breakfast. Kids must be under 3. Included with museum admission. 10am.
  • Pancakes for Parkinson’s at Rice University | Saturday, April 9 – Join the students of Rice University for a pancake breakfast or lunch and raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Expect performances and a kids zone. Donations encouraged. 10am to 3pm.
  • Reading with the Pros: Wade Smith at CityCentre | Saturday, April 9 | FREE – Former Texan Wade Smith leads a storytime hour in the Plaza. 11am to noon.
  • 29th Annual Houston Art Car Parade in Downtown | Saturday, April 9 | FREE – Nearly 250 cars, bikes and motorized creatures will drive down Smith Street, from Pease Street to Walker Street. This year’s route change is due to the ongoing construction on Allen Parkway. Pre-parties on Smith at both Pease and Polk streets; parade 2pm to 4pm.
  • WITS presents Love, the Planet Writing Workshop at IKEA Houston | Saturday, April 9 | FREE – Go to to IKEA for the WITS create writing series called led by professional authors. This workshops is designed for ages 7 to 15. 2pm to 4pm.
  • 2nd Saturday Nite: Doomsday Wrestling Live at Historic Market Square | Saturday, April 9 | FREE – Market Square Park’s new series, 2nd Saturday Nites, continues with an evening of headlocks and hi-jinks with the wackiest wrestlers in Texas.  The family friendly event starts with DJ music from The Wrestlers starting at 6:30pm. Show at 8pm.
  • Screen on the Green: Pixar’s Inside Out at Discovery Green | Saturday, April 9 | FREE – Join emotions Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust as they help 12-year-old Riley process her move from Minnesota to San Francisco in this classic, heart-tugging tale. Arrive one hour early for fun contests and activities 8:30pm.
  • 14th Annual Run for the Rose Run / Walk at NRG | Sunday, April 10  Take off on a 5k or a family 1k around NRG at the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation’s annual race and celebration, benefiting MD Anderson Cancer Center’s immunotherapy research. The event is very family-focused with kids events and celebrations following the run. Registration starts at $35; $20 for 12 and under. 8am.
