- Speakeasy at Obsidian Theater | Friday, April 1 to Saturday, April 16 – Houston’s own Rachel Landon and Liz Tinder wrote this lavish, gin-soaked romp, making its world premiere with Standing Room Only Productions. Popular Prohibition-era songs make their way into the piece, which tells the story of Texas, a woman who owns a Chicago club and the regulars who frequent it. $27.50 to $37.50; but limited discounted $15 tickets are available for select performances. - Miss Teen at Stages Repertory Theatre | Wednesday April 6 to Sunday, May 1 – The writer of Sexy Laundry, a standout when Stages produced it two seasons ago, is back with another comedic look at life, ambition and what it means to be beautiful. - Sea Chantey Concert at the Texas Seaport Museum in Galveston | Saturday, April 9 – Celebrate maritime heritage with songs of the ships and seaman who charted the waters in this concert that helps benefit the Tall Ship Elissa. - The Colorado: A Film Oratorio at the Wortham Theater Center | Tuesday, April 12 – Outdoor enthusiasts, conservationists and music lovers alike will enjoy this presentation by Da Camera Houston, a music-driven film experience about the Colorado River Basin.
