- Houston Grand Opera presents My Favorite Things: Songs from The Sound of Music at TDECU Stadium | Saturday, May 8 – Delight in a family-friendly singalong of the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical, The Sound of Music, featuring members of Houston Grand Opera and performed at the University of Houston’s stadium for maximum social distancing. $10; $7.50 for ages 16 and under. 7:30pm.
- Pesado at Arena Theatre | Saturday, May 8 – The Grammy-nominated Norteño group makes its way to the stage at Southwest Houston’s legendary Arena Theatre, performing many of their chart-topping hits from a nearly thirty year career. Tickets range from $75 to over $135, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8:30pm.
- Annika Chambers at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Saturday, May 8 | Virtual Option – The award-winning, Houston-based jazz vocalist, Annika Chambers, brings her powerful stylings that blend blues and gospel for a knockout performance at the Mucky Duck. This concert will also be broadcast on Mucky Duck’s YouTube page. Tickets are sold by the table, starting at $120 for four; $30 virtual ticket helps support the artist. 9:30pm.

As we enter into the vaccination phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical experts still advise that we have a way to go before we achieve herd immunity and can safely resume pre-pandemic activities.
