Fresh releases bring bands through town this week, but you can also catch unique celebrations of summer solstice at Rothko Chapel, Juneteenth concerts, a celebration of Black artists at Miller Outdoor, and a Pride dance party in Downtown.

  • DeeBaby at House of Blues | Monday, June 17 – Head to the heart of downtown where H-Town’s very own DeeBaby takes over the House of Blues stage with his new single, “Gangsters Get Lonely Too.” $35 and up. 7pm.
  • Bryson Tiller at 713 Music Hall | Tuesday, June 18 & Thursday, June 20 – Fresh off the release of his self-titled fourth studio album, the contemporary R&B sensation heads to Post Houston for two nights. $98 and up. 8pm. 
  • DIIV at White Oak Music Hall | Wednesday, June 19 – The indie pop shoegaze band out of Brooklyn heads to the Northside neighborhood to celebrate their brand new release, Frog In Boiling Water. $32 and up. 7pm.
  • Mo Pitney at Main Street Crossing | Wednesday, June 19 – The American country singer-songwriter, Mo Pitney comes to Tomball to take Main Street Crossing patrons on a sonic journey performing his brand new single, “Worthy One.” $40 and up. 8pm.
  • Junior Brown at the Heights Theater | Thursday, June 20 – Get those stetsons ready as the iconic ’90s country star brings his double-necked “Guit-Steel” to the Heights Theater, playing all the familiar faves with none other than Johnny Falstaff opening up the show. $26 and up. 8pm.
  • Apollo Chamber Players presents Summer Solstice at Rothko Chapel | Friday, June 21 – Celebrate the sun and welcome the return of the midsummer light with meditative new and traditional music at Houston’s monument of peace. Pay-what-you-can; suggested donation of $10 to $25. 8am and noon.
  • The King Cole Legacy Experience at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, June 21 | FREE – The music of the timeless musical giant of the 20th century, Nat King Cole gets reimagined, along with the music of his daughter Natalie, by Horace Alexander Young and Laura Jane Jones, backed by a 28-piece Pops orchestra. 8:30pm.
  • Lilly Palmer DJ Set Noto Houston | Friday, June 21 – The Techno Queen is stopping by to commemorate the big first anniversary of the East End nightclub with a musical journey. $25 and up. 10pm.
  • Houston’s New Faces of Pride Festival & Parade at Houston City Hall | Saturday, June 22 | FREE – A new addition to the Pride festivities this year, this all-day festival features hundreds of vendors, performances by Billy Gilman, Lauren Sanderson and Chris Housman, plus an evening parade through the streets of Downtown. Parade viewing is free; festival is $3. Festival is noon to 6pm; Parade begins at 7:30pm.
  • Juneteenth Weekend: Willie Clayton at Warehouse Live Midtown | Saturday, June 22 – Don your best summer whites and celebrate Juneteenth Weekend with live daytime performances by Will Clayton, PC Band, Step Rideau & the Zydeco Outlaws, and S. Dott with Jacos BBQ serving up on the patio. $50. 2:30pm.
  • Sunset & Sounds: Summer Concert Series with Motenko at Hotel Lucine | Saturday, June 22 | No Cover – One of the newest boutique hotels to hit the Island hosts a weekly concert series on the rooftop bar. This week features the Austin-based neo-retro R&B and soul sounds of Motenko. 6pm to 9:30pm.
  • Styx & Foreigner at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Saturday, June 22 – Two absolute legends of ’70s American rock team up for a night of hit songs and crowd favorites. $29.50 and up. 7pm.  
  • Shake Russell at Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe | Saturday, June 22 – The legendary Old Quarter stage in Galveston is offered up to the Americana singer-songwriter for a night of Texas tunes. $42 and up. 8pm.
  • Classic Albums Live presents Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, June 22 | FREE – Classic Albums Live is back at Miller Outdoor with a note-for-note recreation celebrating the legendary Jimi Hendrix and his iconic 1967 album Are You Experienced. 8:30pm. 
  • Los Skarnales at Continental Club | Saturday, June 22 – The Houston legends known for their immaculate fusion of ska, reggae, rockabilly, cumbia and punk celebrate more than 30 years together on the Continental Club’s stage. $20 and up. 9pm.
