- World Series Game 1 & 2: Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies at Minute Maid Park | Friday, October 28 & Saturday, October 29 – The Astros open their fifth World Series at home, facing a red-hot Phillies team from the National League. Tickets start at $500 and up, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
- 11th Annual The Daily News Press Run in Galveston | Saturday, October 29 – Bring the whole family and walk, jog, or run for fun all in support of the Newspapers in Education Program. There will be 5k and 10k courses featuring the Galveston Causeway, vendors, live music, and even a book character costume contest. Tickets range from $10 to $45. 7:30am.
- Monster Mash Kids K/5K/10K at Karbach Brewing Company | Saturday, October 29 – This Halloween-themed run event sends pavement pounders in-costume through the neighborhood around Karbach in Spring Branch. Things get rolling with the 5K and 10K events, with a Kids K to take place at 9:30am, and post-race celebration throughout the morning. Registration is $50 for the 10K; $40 for the 5K; and $20 for the Kids K. 7:30am.
- Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans at NRG Stadium | Sunday, October 30 – On Halloween Eve, the Texans will look to right the ship this season against their oldest rivals, the Titans. $69 and up. 3pm.
