Extended New Year’s Brunch at Common Bond Bakery & Bistro | New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31 to Sunday, January 4 – Common Bond’s Bistro & Bakery locations will serve extended brunch offerings to celebrate the season, featuring $1 mimosas, $3 flights, and $5 carafes. Rosca de Reyes at El Bolillo Bakery | Friday, January 2 to Monday, January 6 El Bolillo Bakery celebrates the beloved Mexican Epiphany tradition with its handcrafted Rosca de Reyes, made using recipes passed down through generations. Each sweet bread is topped with colorful candied fruits, finished with a crunchy cookie paste called pasta and baked with a hidden figurine inside—a symbol of good luck tied to the story of the Three Kings. 46th Annual Chili When It’s Chilly Cook-Off & Vendor Expo at Baytown Youth Fairgrounds | Friday, January 9 to Saturday, January 10 | FREE Bring the crew to Baytown’s long-running chili cook-off and expo with dozens of cook teams, food vendors, games, a cornhole tournament and more family fun. Bordeaux at the Ballpark at Daikin Park | Wednesday, January 14 Spec’s hosts a curated wine tasting bringing spectacular the release of the highly acclaimed 2023 Vintagec Bordeaux wines to the ballpark for one night only. 17th Annual Yaga’s Chili Quest & Beer Fest in Galveston’s Historic Strand District | Saturday, January 17 | No Cover The island’s annual winter tasting event returns, with chili competitions, public chili sampling, an Indoor Beer Fest brews and spirits tastings event, a 5K beer‑themed fun run, a cornhole tournament, vendors and more. Culinary Canvas: Art & Life in Imperial Rome at Le Jardinier & Cafe Leonelli | Through Saturday, January 25 Guests can explore the flavors of ancient Rome with dishes and drinks inspired by the MFAH’s winter exhibition Art and Life in Imperial Rome: Trajan and His Times. Le Jardinier serves a braised pork belly entrée with Roman-style lentils, sour honey, and brussels sprouts for $48 alongside the Red of Rome cocktail ($20) featuring red wine, grappa, amaro, gold-tipped bay leaves, and fresh apples.
