- Photo Day at the Houston Zoo – Snap a photo of some of the Houston Zoo’s most incredible creatures from the African Forest. Enjoy breakfast and the cooler weather as you take snapshots of giraffes, chimpanzees, gorillas and more before the zoo opens to the public. $49 in advance; $54 the day of; $37 for members; free for children under 2. 7am to 9am.
- Farmer’s Market Bike Ride starting at Onion Creek Cafe | FREE – Meet BCO at Onion Creek and then hop on your bike to ride to various farmers markets on this 12 to 15 mile bike ride. 8am to noon.
- Houston Tech Fest 2015 at NRG | FREE – This annual conference brings Internet and technology professionals, hardware and software vendors and recruiters together under one roof for a free event that is open to the public. All day.
- Houston History Conference at M.D. Anderson Library – Attend the annual History Conference presented by the Houston History Alliance for presentations and discussions around the topic of Houston in the 1860s. $50. 9am to 3:45pm.
- Saturday Morning Cartoons at Aurora Picture Show – All ages are welcome to this screening of shorts from Czech animators Karel Dodal, Hermina Dodalova and Irena Dodalova. Guests will enjoy refreshments and Czech breakfast bites. $10; free for members. 10am to noon.
- Blood Drive at Dave and Busters on Richmond | FREE – Donate blood and then stick around to play a few games during the Sickle Cell Association of Houston Blood Drive at Dave and Busters. Blood donors will receive a free t-shirt and Dave and Busters game card. 11am to 3pm.
- National Chocolate Milkshake Day at Bernie’s Burger Bus in Bellaire – Take advantage of a nonsensical national day and save on sweet tasty milkshakes at the popular brick-and-mortar burger stop in Bellaire. 11am to 9:30pm.
- Creation Station: Himalayan Masks at Asia Society Texas Center | FREE – Create your own Himalayan folk mask and learn about cultural and religious practices throughout the Himalayan region during Asia Society Texas Center’s Creation Station event. - Community Block Party at Bear Creek Pavilion | FREE – Bring the whole family to Bear Creek Pavilion for music, games, local art, food and more during the 11th Annual Community Block Party. 1pm to 8pm.
- Grand Opening of Making a Mark at Texas Children’s Hospital | FREE to Attend – View the traveling Making a Mark exhibit – which displays artwork from children in treatment centers around the world – on its first stop at Texas Children’s. This exhibit will be displayed on the 3rd floor auxiliary bridge of the Clinical Care Center and will be on view through October 9. 2pm to 4pm.
- Untapped Festival Houston at Discovery Green – Enjoy lots of live music and craft brews during the Untapped Festival at Discovery Green. Over 200 beers will be available for sampling during this event. $32 to $60. 3:30pm.

- Developments in Literacy Gala at Hilton Post Oak – Join the Developments in Literacy Houston chapter for an Arabian Nights themed fundraising gala at the Hilton. - Gospel Brunch at House of Blues – Chow down on an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet and enjoy live gospel music during this Sunday staple at House of Blues. $48; limited discounted $27.50 tickets available. 1pm.
- Sunday Garden Photography at Rienzi | FREE – Capture the natural beauty of the Rienzi Gardens by snapping a photo or several during Sunday Garden photography. 1pm.
- Judy! Judy! Judy!
