  • Harris County Job Fair at NRG – Looking for a job? Head to NRG with your resume to meet with various county departments who are looking to hire at this job fair. 8am to 4pm.
  • Houston Region Tourism Summit at George R. Brown Convention Center | FREE – Learn about the upcoming initiatives surrounding Houston tourism, sit in on panel discussions, hear a keynote presentation, network with area professionals and enjoy lunch during the Tourism Summit in Downtown Houston. Free with registration. 9am to 6pm.
  • Blanket Bingo at Market Square Park | POSTPONED TO OCTOBER 6 DUE TO RAIN – Lounge out on lawn chairs or blankets while enjoying a historic night out filled with music, fun and bingo. Admission includes a packet of bingo cards, which are good for about ten games. $10. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Opening Reception at DiverseWorks Artspace – Attend the opening reception of Nocturnal Hologram – a collection of sculptures, photographs, sound and video works from artist Katie Grinnan that will be on view at DiverseWorks until November 14. 6pm to 9pm.
  • TXU Energy Houston Turkey Trot Kickoff Party at Luke’s Locker in River Oaks | FREE – Help the Turkey Trot team kick off registrations with free Saint Arnold’s beer and Maggiano’s bites, music and more. There will discounts on registration, Luke’s Locker merchandise and more. 7pm to 9pm.
  • The Price is Right Live at Revention Music Center – Come on down to Revention Music Center for your chance to see – and maybe be a contestant on – The Price is Right Live. Tickets start at $42.50 including ticket fees, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale sites. 7:30pm.
  • Music of the Americas at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Hear a concert from the Houston Symphony – led by conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. $20 orchestra seating; free mezzanine and lawn seating. 8pm.

  • Wine & Smoke Cooking Class at Central Market – Put your apron on for this grilling class at Central Market. Learn to make and then enjoy dishes like seared shrimp with a guajillo chile sauce, sweet and sticky pork ribs and more – all paired with wine. 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • Fired Up Houston at The Houston Fire Museum – Enjoy a dinner of Italian and Mexican street food from chefs Maurizio Ferrarese and Hugo Ortega while raising funds for the Houston Fire Museum and Houston Fire Department. This event includes a raffle, live entertainment, libations and more. $110 early bird; $125; $65 for active firefighters and their families. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Kathak Dance Performance at Asia Society Texas Center – Attend an intimate music and kathak dance performance featuring Shovana Narayan at Asia Society Texas Center. $25; $15 for members. 7:30pm.
  • Elton John Tribute Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Craig A Meyer and The Rocket Band will play a concert celebrating the music of Elton John during this event at Miller Outdoor Theatre. 8pm.
  • Turnpike Troubadours in Concert at Revention Music Center – Hear a concert from red dirt band Turnpike Troubadours at the Revention Music Center. Tickets start at $28.50 including ticket fees, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale site. 9pm.
