  • Texas Young Professionals Weekend in Houston | Daily – Join the folks of the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals as they welcome their Austin and Dallas counterparts for a weekend of fun and networking. Watch the Astros play the White Sox from the Rooftop Deck and Lounge at Minute Maid Park on Friday, give your time to community service projects on Saturday morning followed by lunch at Brooks Family BBQ and an evening of socializing at the NASA Space Center. Finish the weekend with brunch at Social Junkie Bar and Grill with presentations from keynote speakers. Locations, prices and times vary.
  • Eat Well, Play Well Exhibit at The Health Museum | Daily – Test your flexibility and balance, learn about veggie power, take the calorie quiz and much more as The Health Museum debuts its latest interactive exhibit Eat Well, Play Well. $9; $7 for kids 3 to 12. 9am to 5pm Thursday to Saturday; Noon to 5pm Sunday.
  • Cinderella at the Hobby Center | Daily – Arrive by carriage – or car – for a performance of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Cinderella at the Hobby Center. Tickets start at $37.25. You might find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork and Ticket Monster resale markets. 7:30pm Thursday; 8pm Friday; 2pm and 8pm Saturday; 2pm and 7:30pm Sunday.
  • Comedian Shane Mauss at Joke Joint Comedy Showcase | Thursday to Saturday – Laugh at jokes from Shane Mauss – the hilarious stand up comedian who has appeared on Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live and more when he makes a visit to Joke Joint Comedy Showcase. $16; limited comped and discounted $8 tickets available. 8pm Thursday; 10:30pm Friday and Saturday.
  • The Brownstone Reunion Weekend at Corner Table in River Oaks | Thursday to Sunday – Revisit the infamous days of the Brownstone, with a Brownstone-inspired special menu created by Chef Ja’Nel Witt, the return of live harp music, and a meet-and-greet with Brownstone proprietor Beau Theriot and Corner Table owner Darla Lexington. Reservations. Dinner Friday and Saturday; Brunch Sunday.
  • George Gershwin Alone at Alley Theater at UH | Friday to Sunday – This one-of-a-kind tribute to an extraordinary American character features accomplished actor and pianist Hershey Felder as Gershwin. The performance is filled with his flawless renditions of Gershwin’s music, from Porgy and Bess and An American in Paris to “Rhapsody in Blue,” “The Man I Love,” “Someone to Watch Over Me” and more. $36 to $44; limited discounted $21 tickets available. Times vary.
  • The Wiz at The Kaleidoscope Theater | Friday to Sunday – Ease on down the road at Bayou City Theatrics’ retelling of the classic The Wizard of Oz infused with African-American culture of the 70s. The show features gospel, rock and soul and a message as familiar as “There’s no place like home.” $40; limited discounted $20 tickets available. Times vary.
  • Houston Dancesport Classic at the Westin Memorial City | Friday to Sunday – Whether you’re a professional or an amateur, spin your way through the Houston Dancesport Classic showcasing your Latin and ballroom dance skills. $20; $10 for children 12 and under. 9am to 11pm Daily.
  • Houston Astros vs. Chicago White Sox Series at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – Cheer the ‘Stros to a victory over the Chicago White Sox during three games at Minute Maid Park. Tickets start at $10, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork or Ticket Monster resale sites. 7:10pm Friday; 3:10pm Saturday; 1:10pm Sunday.
  • The 39 Steps at Stage Door Inc. | POSTPONED to next weekend due to flooding – See the hilarious theatrical version of Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps from Stage Door Inc. The cast of only four will play over 150 characters. $15 in advance; $20 at the door; limited discounted $10 tickets available. 8pm Friday and Saturday; 3pm Sunday.
  • Mini Motoring Challenge at NRG Park | Friday to Sunday – Test drive the new Mini Hardtop 4 door through one of three courses – the pinball, the getaway and silverstone – all brightly lit for a one-of-a-kind experience. 6pm to 11pm Friday; 4pm to 11pm Saturday; noon to 6pm Sunday.
