- Car Culture Meet in Sugar Land | FREE – Calling all car enthusiasts to Sugar Land Town Square for a large display of high performance vehicles. Bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Texas Children’s Hospital if you’d like. 8am to 10am.
- Selfies with Santa at the Children’s Museum of Houston – Bring the kids to the Children’s Museum to make an elf hat and snap a selfie with Santa. Included in museum admission. 11am.
- Gingerbread House Workshop at the Four Seasons – Spend the afternoon at the Four Seasons decorating a gingerbread house and then take it home to display and/or eat. $85; $155 for two adults; $65 for children 12 and under. 1pm to 4pm.
- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at The Grand – Head to Galveston for a musical performance based on the classic TV special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. $35; limited discounted $14 tickets available. 2pm and 7pm.
- Champagne & Stockings Art Show at The Alley Kat – Sip on bubbles while you browse artwork from more than 25 local artists and enjoy beats from a live DJ during The Alley Kat’s Champagne & Stockings Art Show. 4pm.
- Sunset Sip & Stroll in La Porte | FREE to Attend – Stroll around the La Porte Farmer’s Market to shop for produce and browse artwork while enjoying a glass of wine. 5pm to 8pm.
- Christmas Village at Bayou Bend – Take in the wintery setting at Bayou Bend as it’s transformed into a Christmas Village complete with holiday lights, decorations, live music and appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus. $15; $10 for children from 5 to 12; free for children 4 and under. 6pm.
- Tree & Stars at Houston Arboretum – Hike through the winter woods, gaze at the stars and moon through a telescope and enjoy refreshments during this winter celebration at the Houston Arboretum. $30. 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
- Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Clippers at Toyota Center – Cheer for the Rockets as they take on the Clippers at home. Tickets start at $20, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
- Star Wars: Unscripted Improv Show at ComedySportz Houston – If you couldn’t get tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, or you need to keep your wookiee spirit alive, take in this off-kilter adults-only improv interpretation of the original 1977 film. Audience suggestions determine the plot and change the circumstances in a galaxy far, far away. $14; limited discounted $7 tickets available. 10:30pm.

- Santa Hustle 5k and Half Marathon in Galveston | Sunday, December 20 – Dress like old St. Nick (beard and hat included with registration) and run a 5k or half marathon through Galveston – enjoying cookies, candy cane and holiday tunes all the way. Stick around for the after party. $65 half marathon; $50 5k. 8am.
- Meet Santa’s Reindeer at the Children’s Museum of Houston – Come face to face with one of Santa’s reindeer at the Children’s Museum of Houston and snap a photo with old Saint Nick himself. Included with museum admission. 1pm.
- Family Day at Bayou Bend | FREE – Stop by Bayou Bend for activities, music, demonstrations, performances and craft workshops for the whole family to enjoy. 1pm to 5pm.
- Tale-ing through Time at MFAH – Storyteller Rabbi Dan Gordon will bring Russian-born photographer Roman Vishniac’s stills to life during a one-hour program at the MFAH – the last in a three part series. Included in museum admission. 3pm.
- Dancing with the Stars Live! at Revention Music Center – See Sharna, Val, Lindsey, Emma, Artem and the rest of the Dancing with the Stars gang perform live at Revention Music Center on their Dance All Night Tour. Tickets start at $35, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 4pm and 8pm.
- Tony Bennett in Concert at The Grand – Don’t miss your chance to see 18 time Grammy Award winning singer Tony Bennett perform live during a sold out show at The Grand. First run tickets are sold out, but a limited number of seats may be available on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm
- White Christmas Album 4 at The Music Box Theater – Delight in the fourth, all-new edition of Music Box Theater’s Beatles and holiday song mashup with classic songs from the Fab Four and the Christmas season. $27; limited discounted $13.50 tickets available. 7:30pm.
