Market Square Park Farmers Market Friendsgiving Block Party in Downtown | FREE – The popular weekly farmers market wraps up its fall season with a super-sized block party, growing out onto the streets with art pop-ups, rollicking live music from Bayou City Funk, great pre-Thanksgiving fresh produce and food shopping, great people-watching and dog-petting, and more. 10am to 2pm.

Connecting Communities at Houston Arboretum | FREE – As part of the national Outdoors for All movement, the Arboretum invites Houstonians of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to explore and enjoy the natural world, see demonstrations, enjoy food truck bits, play yard games, take in a storytime, and more for all ages and abilities. 10am to 2pm.

The French Farm Winter Open Warehouse Sale in the Heights | FREE – Houston-based online retailer The French Farm opens its doors to the public for the first of five Saturdays this holiday season, offering discounts on imported gourmet food and housewares from around the world. 10am to 3pm.

15th Annual iWrite Book Signing & Literacy Festival at The Ballroom at Tanglewood | FREE with RSVP – Get books autographed by local children’s authors and illustrators, enter a fantasy character costume contest, participate in literary games and enjoy the festive atmosphere. RSVP requested. 10am to 5pm.

Basement to Attic Tours of Bishop’s Palace – Explore one of Galveston’s iconic buildings, including a rare look into parts of the National Historic Landmark that are typically off-limits in a 90-minute tour. $35. 11am.

Cultural Bridges: Traditional Korean Dance & Music at Asia Society Texas Center | FREE – Han Narea presents an interactive, 90-minute journey into traditional Korean performances. Play hand drums, learn a traditional fan dance, and connect to Korean history through a scarf dance. 11am.

Depot Day Fall Fest at Tomball Depot Plaza | FREE – Tomball’s annual celebration is all about trains, featuring model railroads mixed with classic fall fair fun, old-fashioned country music, carnival games, a pumpkin patch, a kids’ zone and more. 11am to 6pm.

2024 Zine Fest Houston at The Orange Show | FREE – ZineFest, a grassroots festival, gathers media creators from across the city to share their zines, mini-comics, and other forms of small press, alternative, underground, DIY media and art. Swing by Houston’s Orange Show for Visionary Art, shop, and find community. Noon to 6pm. 

Tamales 101 Class at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen – Slyvia’s Eldridge Parkway location hosts a class teaching the ancient art of tamale making. Create pork and chicken tamales, learn how they’ve become a holiday tradition, and have plenty to take home to share with family and friends. $75. 1pm.

Contemporary Wreath-Making Workshop at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft – Get in the holiday mood by making a festive mixed-media wreath, using materials like DIY pom poms, ornaments, painted elements, and felt flowers in a 2-hour hands-on workshop. $85. 1pm.

Prelude Family Concert Series at Levy Park | FREE – The 45-minute musical experience—designed for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grown-ups who cherish them—encourages creativity, self-expression, and development through a range of musical styles. 4pm.

Lone Star Lyric: Broadway Cabaret at Ovations Night Club – Ovations in Rice Village hosts an evening of show tune favorites from composers like Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Kander and Ebb, and many more. It’s a trip through Broadway history in song. $30 and up. 5pm.

Secret Sunday in Concert at Last Concert Cafe – The alternative rock band returns to the stage for the first time in two decades to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their acclaimed second album, Television, which won Houston Press’ 1999 Album of the Year.
