  • 51st Annual Regatta on Buffalo Bayou – The 8.5-mile Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta starts and finishes from Allen’s Landing in Downtown as part of Houston’s longstanding tradition. Open to ages 12 and up, you can race competitively or for fun, with finish line festivities like music, food and more that are open to all. Registration is $55 and up; post-race party is free. 7:30am to 2:30pm.
  • Spring Break: Golden Age of the Cattle Drive at George Ranch Historical Park – The Fort Bend historical park steps into the age of cattle drivers with daily demonstrations of roping, cattle driving, steer roundups, chuckwagon cooking and other aspects of life on the range. $15 for ages 13 and up; $10 for ages 4 to 12; free for ages 3 and under. 9am to 5pm.
  • DIY Terrariums at Houston Botanic Garden – Ankita Vadher leads a beginner’s class on how to create miniature, self-sustaining environments with soil, pebbles, living moss and figurines. $50. 10am to 11am.
  • Little BIPOC Book Fest at Discovery Green | FREE – This afternoon celebration in Downtown features a unique Storybook Opera performance, readings from local authors, arts and crafts, and free books that feature Black, Indigenous, and People of Color experiences. 10am to 2pm.
  • Rock the Block Street Festival at Children’s Museum Houston – Kicking off Spring Break festivities at the Children’s Museum, this all-day festival offers carnival games, mini golf, double-hoop basketball and Caribbean steel drum sounds from Steel Appeal. Plus, you can take a gander at Art Car vehicles and get grooving to beats from DJ Ernie. $15. 10am to 6pm.
  • Holi Mela at Telugu Bhavanam in Katy – In Katy, this Holi festival is highlighted by Bollywood performances, color play, DJ tunes, and kids activities, plus a market featuring food and shopping vendors. Advance tickets are $8, $10 at the gate; free for ages 11 and under. 11am to 4pm.
  • The Art Market at Sawyer Yards | No Cover – Browse booth after booth of a curated market featuring artwork, crafts and specialty foods at this monthly gathering in Arts District. Head inside the surrounding gallery spaces to catch a glimpse of working artist studios and shop more works. 11am to 5pm.

  • 62nd Annual Houston St. Patrick’s Parade & Celebration at Post Houston | FREE – The annual parade shifts to Post Houston this year, offering a full day of local vendor shopping, folk dances, games and face painting, and the official parade that leaves at noon, circling through Downtown and back. 11am to 6pm.
  • Seltzerland: A Hard Seltzer Tasting Festival at Post Houston – Fans of the bubbly can head to Post Houston for a Saturday afternoon event tasting from more than 100 unique hard seltzers from big and small brands alike. Held outdoors, you’ll also be able to take part in games like seltzer pong, lemonade ladder, golf and cornhole, plus enjoy DJs, photo stations and free swag. $49 and up. Sessions held at 11:30am to 2pm; 3:30pm to 6pm.
  • St. Patrick’s Bar Olympics at Bobcat Teddy’s Ice House | No Cover – Gather your squad and go for the gold at this pre-St. Patrick’s Day competition where teams of four compete across six games to notch a medal and a special prize. $25 to reserve a team; free to attend. Noon.
  • Second Saturday in Second Ward | FREE – Held at the Plant on Harrisburg, this Second Saturday market event gathers Houston-area vendors, many of which from right in the East End area, for shoppers to browse and pick up everything from plants and artisan goods to food and more. Vendors will rotate each month, so every market will offer something new to repeat visitors. Noon to 6pm.
  • KTX Market Day at No Label Brewing Co. | No Cover – The Katy brewery offers a no-cover event featuring local vendors, local tunes and food trucks to pair with their signature brews. 1pm to 5pm.

62nd St. Patrick’s Day Parade

  • 7th Annual Hootenanny at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | FREE – Eureka Heights is dusting off its cowboy boots for the return of its Rodeo season favorite event, the annual Hootenanny. Expect daytime two-stepping alongside music from country artists Libby Koch and the Dealers, bbq goodness from Deckle and Hide, artisan vendors, games, and the release of its beloved Golden Buckle Cream Ale. 1pm to 6pm.
  • 2023 OMG Food Fest at Aveva Stadium – This hip-hop food festival features DJs and bands playing old school, rap and hip-hop alongside a lineup of tasty food vendors, offering eats like tacos, boudin, turkey legs, bbq, and more. $8; free for ages 8 and under. 2pm to 10pm.
  • Noche de Norteño at Ingenious Brewing Co. | No Cover – In Humble, this crafty brewery turns the lights down for a dance party to classic Norteño hits. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Willie Colón in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The legendary salsa musician, trombonist, and composer Willie Colón is bringing the heat to the 713 at Post Houston. $73 and up. 7pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Chicago Bulls at Toyota Center – DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine lead a Chicago squad to H-Town, in the final weeks of the Rockets’ season. $20 and up. 7pm.
  • 31st Annual Mariachi Invitational Showcase at Arena Theatre – Houston Rodeo‘s Go Tejano committee is hosting their annual mariachi invitational where five professional mariachi groups from across the state of Texas are invited to compete in the showcase. $58 and up. 7pm.
  • Houston Chamber Choir presents Ancestor’s Dream at South Main Baptist Church – Aiming to move beyond spirituals, work songs and gospel music, this choral concert presents seldom-heard works of Black composers like Nathaniel Dett, Harry Burleigh and Undine Smith Moore. $40; $10 for students. 7:30pm.
