- 46th Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta at Buffalo Bayou Park – Race down 15 miles of the scenic Buffalo Bayou via kayak or canoe in the 46th annual Buffalo Bayou Regatta. Celebrate at the finish line with live zydeco music and food and drinks available for purchase. $50. 7am to 2pm.
- A Masters Session with the Pioneers of Skateboarding at North Houston Skatepark | FREE – Meet and skate alongside four skateboarding pioneers from the ‘70s and ‘80s at North Houston Skatepark. You’ll have two opportunities—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—for a two-hour session with Brad Bowman, Wally Inouye, Steve Olson, and Doug Saladino. 10am.
- The Market at Sawyer Yards | No Cover – Shop a curated selection of specialty foods, folk art, and artisan crafts during this market hosted by The Washington Avenue Arts District. 11am to 5pm.
- 21st Annual Irish Cook-off and Music Festival at Griff’s | No Cover – Snag free tastings as 18 teams compete in the 21st annual Irish Cook-off and Music Festival at Griff’s. Enjoy Irish stew, chili, chicken, desserts, and an Irish open dish while listening to live Irish music. 11am to 10pm.
- Alice! at Prohibition – Enter the fantastical world of Wonderland during Alice!, a newly adapted musical derived from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. - 10 Year Anniversary Party at Southern Star Brewing Co. | No Cover – Celebrate 10 years of Southern Star Brewing with discounted craft beers, live music, a Bombshell Blonde look-alike contest, and prizes. To commemorate the occasion, Southern Star will release an imperial version of their popular IPA, Half Nelson. Noon to 10pm.

- Houston Rodeo: Cody Johnson in Concert at NRG Park – Watch country singer Cody Johnson take the stage as part of the 2018 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo lineup. - Houston Rodeo-Themed Art Show at RockStar Gallery | FREE – RockStar Gallery presents their Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo-themed Art Show just in time for rodeo season. Show your Eventbrite ticket for this event and you can enter to win a Houston Rodeo carnival pack prize. 7pm to 10pm.
- Houston Rodeo: 2018 Go Tejano Committee Mariachi Invitational Showcase at Arena Theatre – See five professional mariachi bands from around Texas battle to earn their place in the semifinal and final competitions to be held at the Rodeo on Go Tejano Day on Sunday. This Saturday evening showcase will feature two rounds of competition. $35 to $45. 7pm to 10pm.
- Carmen at Jones Hall – Enjoy a minimalistic version of the classic tale of Carmen, with a theatrical performance from Madrid-based dance company Compañía Nacional de Danza and choreographer Johan Inger at Jones Hall. - Young Texas Artists Music Competition at Crighton Theatre – Watch local and international rising stars perform classical music at the Young Texas Artists Music Competition at Crighton Theatre in The Woodlands. Competitive categories include piano, voice, strings, winds, brass, percussion, harp, and guitar. Tickets start at $28. 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
- The Exonerated at MATCH – Experience a moving performance based on the true stories of six criminally convicted men and women wrongly sentenced to death in The Exonerated at MATCH. - On Golden Pond at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston – See the classic American play, On Golden Pond, performed by Montana Repertory Theatre at The Grand 1894 Opera House. Written by Ernest Thompson, On Golden Pond explores themes of familial relationships, loss, and resolution. Tickets start at $25. 8pm.
- Los Lonely Boys and Los Lobos in Concert at House of Blues – Catch the popular American Chicano rock trio, Los Lonely Boys, in their performance at House of Blues. California-based rock group Los Lobos will open the show. Tickets start at $30. 8pm.
- Dope: The Headphone Experience (Silent Party) at Lion’s Heart Studios – Slap on a pair of headphones a get down to a wide selection of music from local DJs at Lion’s Heart Studios. Along with the headphone experience, you can enjoy live music performances, visual arrangements, and art exhibits. Tickets start at $25. 9pm.
- The Late Show: Bathtub Full of Gin at Prohibition Supperclub – You’re in for a sexy, booze-filled evening when the Moonlight Dolls take the stage for this 1920’s show at Prohibition Supperclub. Tickets start at $20, but limited, discounted $10 tickets are available. 11:30pm.
