  • The Pride Run 5K & 10K at Hennessy Park – Come downtown and start your day with this run/walk that commemorates Pride Month. Early arrivals can take part in a synchronized rainbow throw to get decked out in colorful pigments before hitting the starting gate. $25 and up. 7:30am.
  • Paper Folding Workshop at Menil Drawing Institute | FREE – Join Joan Son for this hands-on session, held in conjunction with the exhibition Ruth Asawa: Through Line. You’ll create your own artwork and explore the exhibit. 9:30am to 11am.
  • Splash Dance! with Erica Nix at Heights House Hotel – This water aerobics class is a fun fitness experience for all levels, featuring music, a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of laughs. The class is expected to sell out, so register early. $30. 10am to noon.
  • 46th Houston Pride Celebration Festival & Parade at Houston City Hall – This all-day festival features live performances by K. Michelle, David Archuleta, Kayla G and Brooke Eden. The evening parade runs through the streets of downtown and is free to view. Festival passes are $5. 11am to 10pm.
  • Houston Mimosa Fest at Bottled Blonde – This all-access day party features Washington Ave’s best bars and restaurants, and plenty of mimosas. Expect brunch bites, a live DJ, live music, games, prizes, and more. $24.99 and up. Noon to 5pm.
  • Craft & Connect Workshop: Cocktail Masterclass at TX/RX Labs – Get some insider tips, tools, and basic techniques on how to craft cocktails at home. After you’ve enjoyed some boozy fun, TX/RX Labs will guide you through making your own coaster using a laser cutter. $25. 1pm.
  • South Texas Breakfast Cooking Class at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen – This hands-on class teaches you how to create chilaquiles, migas, refried beans, guisado beans, flour tortillas, gorditas and corn tortillas. It’s the last cooking class ’til the fall, so come on out to put a little TexMex in your next brunch. $70 per person. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Author Walter Mosley at Murder by the Book | FREE – The best-selling writer signs his latest, Farewell, Amethystine. The book is the story of Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins, LA’s premier Black detective, who has his world upended when Amethystine Stoller shows up, asking him to help her find her missing ex-husband. Free to attend; books for signing must be purchased from the store. 3pm.
  • Sunset & Sounds: Summer Concert Series with Robert Kuhn at Hotel Lucine | No Cover – The Galveston singer-songwriter headlines a night at the Island’s new boutique hotel, performing on the rooftop bar overlooking the beach. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Stars & Stripes Celebration at Heritage Park | FREE – Kick off your 4th of July celebrations early with this evening of kids activities, a market, food trucks, music by the Conroe Symphony Orchestra, and fireworks. 6pm to 9:30pm.
  • Southern Smoke Foundation presents Respect the Rosé: Run for the Rosés at Brennan’s of Houston – Chefs will collaborate on a multi-course extravaganza made even better by a selection of first-class rosés and other wines at Brennan’s of Houston. The event raises funds for the organization, which helps hospitality workers in crisis. $500 per person. 6:30pm.
  • Houston SaberCats vs. Dallas Jackals at SaberCats Stadium – Houston’s rugby squad wraps up a stellar year for the franchise with a Fan Appreciation Night when they face the Dallas Jackals in the final regular season game before the playoffs. $15 and up. 7pm.
  • Comedian Liz Miele at the Secret Group – With appearances on Comedy Central, Hulu, and NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, Liz Miele grabs the mic for a one-night headlining set of new material in EaDo. $25 and up. 7pm.
  • Houston Dynamo FC vs. Charlotte FC at Shell Energy Stadium – The Dynamo square off with Charlotte and fans can take advantage of special ticket options that include a Pride-themed t-shirt, plus other matchday elements that honor Houston’s diverse community. $28 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Mala Disco Pride at Bar Boheme | No Cover – Celebrate Pride Month’s closing weekend with disco tunes from live DJs at this Montrose bar. Dance all night long and enjoy drinks on your own dime. 8pm.
  • Aqua Man & The Lost Kingdom Movie Screening at Redemption Square | FREE – Bring the family out to Redemption Square to watch a free outdoor screening of the 2023 movie. You’re welcome to bring your own blanket or lawn chair and picnic. 8:15pm.
  • Hollywood Rhapsody at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – The Texas Medical Center Orchestra kicks off its 25th season with this performance, featuring classical movie tunes, including Gershwin’s Overture to Girl Crazy, An American in Paris, and Rhapsody in Blue. The evening also features Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (New World Symphony), and more. 8:30pm.
  • Glitterball: Official Houston Pride Afterparty at Warehouse Live Midtown – The official afterparty to the Houston Pride Parade brings revelers to Midtown for a rooftop bash with DJs Kitty Glitter and Drew G. $20 and up. 9pm to 11pm.
  • Electric Foam: Hawaiian Nights at Stereo Live – Break out your Hawaiian shirts and leis for this aloha-themed party at the Galleria-area club. You’ll dance the night away, and the first 300 people through the doors get light-up LED leis. $10. 10pm.

  • Galveston’s Own Farmers Market at The Depot | No Cover – Head to the Island to shop a variety of local produce and artisan products at this weekly farmers market. It’s a chance to support local businesses and perhaps pick up all the fixings for a day at one of the island’s beaches. 9am to noon.
  • Broadway Beauties Walking Tour at the Moody Mansion – Galveston Historical Foundation hosts this walk through the Island’s past. You’ll stroll by 20 of Galveston’s most elegant mansions and learn about their families, their impact on the city, and how a small group of gifted architects shaped the Galveston we know today. $25. 10am to 11:30am.
  • Soberfest at White Oak Music Hall – This music festival celebrates those who have taken the steps to embrace a healthier lifestyle free of alcohol or drugs. Spend the day with like-minded Houstonians who wish to socialize in a healthy, fun, and creative environment. $25. 10am.
  • Houston Museum of Natural Science presents Dinosaur Discovery at Levy Park | FREE – Come out to the Greenway-area park to learn all about dinosaurs as HMNS representatives bring the museum to the park. It’s a chance to ask questions, and find out more about these fascinating creatures. 2pm.
  • Restorative Yoga & Sound Bath at Houston Botanic Garden – Jessica Garcia of Chandra Yoga guides participants through a relaxing and luxurious yoga session, while Susie Hernandez of Gongsia Sacred Sound Sessions provides a live soundscape of gongs, crystal singing bowls, and chimes to support a meditative mindstate and relaxed body. $50. 2pm to 3pm.
  • Sad Girl Sunday Concert at Dan Electro’s – Look for performances from Kay Weathers, Sorry Sarah, and Hate Mail in this afternoon of female power. Expect a variety of genres, including elecro pop, indie rock, screamo and post-hardcore. $10. 2pm to 6pm.
  • First Annual Storytelling Competition at Village Books | FREE – Think you’re a storyteller? This is your chance to find out. Contestants have five minutes to share a memorized fiction or nonfiction story, and winners will advance to compete in the final competition this December. Registration required to tell a story. 3pm to 5pm.
  • Bob Henschen Trio at Archway Gallery | FREE – Explore the art at the Montrose gallery while taking in an evening of light jazz by this trio that’s been a staple on the Houston music scene for more than two decades. The current exhibition is Ink & Image, featuring the work of seven Houston printmakers. 6pm to 8pm.
  • The Doobie Brothers in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The 1970s rock band, known for hits like “Listen to the Music,” “What a Fool Believes” and “Takin’ It to the Streets” make a stop in The Woodlands, with the Robert Cray Band as an opening act. $35 and up. 7pm.
  • José Madero in Concert at House of Blues – The Mexican rock singer-songwriter, known for songs like “Día de Mayo,” “Lamentable” and “De mí, de mí, de mí” comes to Houston as part of his En Directo tour. His sound blends rock, pop, and folk influences. $55 and up. 7pm.
