- Freedom Rocks Fest at Lagoonfest Texas | Wednesday & Thursday – The third annual fest promises a packed slate of tribute bands honoring some of the greatest rock legends of all time. Hit the aquamarine waters of the Texas City lagoon, relax with food and drink, and take in a Thursday night drone show, starting at 9pm. $38; $20 for ages 3 to 13. 10am to sunset.
- Baytown’s 4th of July Celebration at Bicentennial Park | Wednesday & Thursday | FREE – The City of Baytown hosts its two-day 4th of July event with a car show, a firework extravaganza and live music by Bellamy Brothers, Niko Moon, Brett Young, and more. A fireworks spectacular caps off the festivities on Thursday night at 9:30pm. Wednesday 5:30pm to 10pm; Thursday 4pm to 10pm.
- Leather Tooling at the Cattle Complex at The George Ranch | Thursday to Saturday – Learn about leather tooling with some hands-on history experiences at this unique space dedicated to sharing the fascinating methods of living from the past. $16; $11 for ages 4 to 12; free for ages 3 and under. 9am to 2pm.
- Sugar Land Space Cowboys vs. Round Rock Express at Constellation Field | Thursday to Saturday – Enjoy some summer fun at the ballpark in a three-game series with fan giveaways like a patriotic jersey on the Fourth, a Verlander jersey, and an aloha shirt. $11 and up. Times vary.
- MFA Shop Trunk Show: Kimono Zulu at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston | Friday to Sunday | No Cover – Find your special garment in this unique collection by Tina Zulu, who will be on hand to assist customers with styling and selection, including a series of re-imagined vintage kimonos and a collection of rare and vintage kimonos from the 1940s to 1970s. 11am to 6pm.
- Comedian Lace Larrabee at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday to Sunday – The America’s Got Talent semi-finalist followed up her breakout success with the debut comedy special White Trash Cinderella, and now finds herself at the upstairs stage at The Riot for back-to-back nights. $20 and up. 7pm.
- Comedian Pete Holmes at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday – The creator and star of HBO’s Crashing, and star of multiple comedy specials on HBO and Netflix, brings his Feelin’ It tour to the Spring Branch stage. $60 for 2 and up. Times vary.
- Latin Restaurant Weeks Across Greater Houston | Starts Saturday – Belly up for special offers and pricing on Latin dishes at 85+ restaurants and food trucks across greater Houston, happening now through Friday, July 19, 2024. Pricing, locations, and times vary.
- Dixie Longate: Cherry Bombs & Bottle Rockets at The Grand 1894 Opera House | Saturday & Sunday – Dive into another world with the beloved Tupperware lady’s first ever stand-up show as she shares her thoughts on Loretta Lynn to alien abductions, pogo sticking to “safe words.” $25 and up. 3pm and 8pm.
- Bluey’s Big Play at Wortham Center | Saturday & Sunday – Fans of Bluey can watch as the animated blue heeler puppy and her mum, dad, and sister Bingo take their adventures to the stage, with colorful sets, brand new songs created just for this production, and loads of fun and laughs for the family. $50 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Patriotic Exhibits at the National Museum of Funeral History | Daily – Explore America’s history, culture, and science through the lens of presidential funerals, historic hearses, lively jazz funerals of New Orleans, the Vietnam Memorial, first responders of 9/11, and more.
- Jurassic World: The Exhibition at Katy Mills | Daily – Travel by ferry to Isla Nublar—a destination that’s mercifully fully air-conditioned—and get as close to living dinosaurs as possible, meeting friendly herbivores, baby dinos, caged velociraptors, a massive roaring T-Rex, and more at this crowd-pleasing destination this summer.

- Dr. David Shiffman at Houston Museum of Natural Science – Learn all about shark science and conservation from Dr. Shiffman, the author of the new book, Why Sharks Matter. Stick around for an audience Q&A on sharks. Copies of the book are available for sale and signing. $18. 6:30pm.
- Raj Sharma at Houston Improv – The Dallas-native comedian pulls through the Spring Branch comedy club for a night of laughs inspired by his worldly observations and traditional Hindu upbringing. $30 for 2, and up. 7:30pm.
- Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute at Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion | FREE – Delight in patriotic music as the Houston Symphony presents its annual Star Spangled Salute in the Woodlands. 8pm.
- Victor Wooten & the Wooten Brothers in Concert at The Heights Theater – Experience a high-energy, super-funky, artistic blend of styles that includes original songs and classics from Victor Wooten & the Wooten Brothers in the Heights. $34 and up. 8pm.
- The Cars Tribute Band Rooftop Concert at Post Houston – Head atop the Skylawn at Post Houston for a night of classic hits by ’80s band The Cars in this tribute performance under the stars and skyscrapers of Downtown. $20 and up. 8pm to 10pm.
- Chus and Genix: Independence Eve at Bauhaus – Dance deep into the night with a doubleheader of DJs and other guests, including a Bauhaus debut of rising Anjunabeats star, Genix. $9.95. 10pm.

- Run Wild 5K & Kids Run at Uptown Park – Hosted by Runner’s High Club, this family-friendly fun run benefits Special Olympics Texas & Girls on the Run Greater Houston, featuring a .6-mile kids run in addition to a 5K. All kids receive medals and parents are welcome to run/walk along with them. $22 and up. 7am.
- Kidpendence Day at Children’s Museum Houston – Fill the day with cool, kid-centric experiences including Mentos geysers, confetti blasts, a Captain America storytime, and a science show to celebrate the 4th of July. $19.95 for ages 1 and up. 9:30am to 4pm.
- Katy Freedom Celebration at Typhoon Texas Waterpark – Enjoy a day of 4th of July fun, barbecue and live entertainment at Typhoon Texas in Katy, then stick around for the Freedom Celebration fireworks show at 9pm. Guests are also welcome to view the fireworks from Katy Mills Mall for free. $44.99 and up. 11am to 10pm.
- 4th of July Celebration at Kemah Boardwalk | FREE – Hit the boardwalk and celebrate freedom with a bang in a full day of rides, live entertainment, and music from the Lone Star All Star Trio and the Slags. Fireworks cap it off at 9:30pm. Festivities from 1:30pm to 10pm.
- Freedom Over Texas at Eleanor Tinsley Park – Take in a full day of Fourth fun at this annual tradition near Downtown. Hear live music from chart-topping country artists like Russell Dickerson, Jo Dee Messina and Chapel Hart, plus blues from Mathias Lattin, sounds of Latin fusion from Bamuaya, Zydeco, and more. The firework spectacular gets going around 9:30pm. $10. 4pm to 10pm.
- Red, White & Boom at Crown Festival Park in Sugar Land | FREE – Take the family out to Crown Festival Park for live musical entertainment, community booths, activities, photo opportunities, and of course, a dazzling firework display to conclude the celebration. 5pm to 9pm.
- Galveston Island Independence Day Parade on Seawall Boulevard | FREE – Dress in your parade fare to cheer on this evening procession of decorated vehicles, performers and floats along Seawall Boulevard from 22nd to 46th Street. 6pm.
- 27th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival at Multiple Locations | FREE – The Woodlands celebrates freedom with a variety of family-friendly activities at multiple locations throughout the township. All sites will feature live music beginning at 6pm with bands playing until the Fireworks Extravaganza at around 9:30pm. 6pm to 10pm.
- 4th of July Community Concert at Moody Mansion | FREE – Hear spirited music on the grounds of one of Galveston’s most iconic historic homes, thanks to the Galveston Community Band. 7pm.
- Boots, Bands & BBQ with Oliver Penn at Dan Electro’s – Come see this rising country band from Crosby, Texas along with Taylor Marberry at the Heights guitar bar. Hilliard American Vintage will also be on-site with pop-up shopping. Ages 21 and up. $10. 7:45pm.
- Copa America 2024: Quarterfinal at NRG Stadium – An explosive quarterfinal in the North and South American continental cup arrives in Houston, with Lionel Messi leading Argentina to face Ecuador in Houston’s final match of the Copa America tournament. $167 and up. 8pm.
- Houston Symphony’s Star-Spangled Salute at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – The Symphony’s Independence Day tradition returns to the Miller stage, featuring a rousing program of patriotic songs to celebrate the country’s birthday. Fireworks will cap it all off, beginning around 10pm. 8:30pm to 10pm.
- Independence Day Fireworks Over the Gulf in Galveston | FREE – Don’t miss this illustrious display of fireworks for the Galveston Island community at 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard. 9:15pm.
- Freedom Over Texas: 4th of July Fireworks Over Downtown Houston | FREE – The annual celebration at Eleanor Tinsley Park may be an all-day ticketed festival, but the fireworks finale can be viewed from many areas across Houston. The best views will be those with a clear line of sight to the skies above the park and Buffalo Bayou, immediately west of Downtown. 9:30pm.

- Tribeville Music Festival at White Oak Music Hall – Celebrate Black music and art from around the world as “one tribe” on the lawn at White Oak, featuring headliner and Afrobeat superstar Davido. $89 and up. Noon to 11pm.
- PVRIS in Concert at House of Blues – Fresh from their European tour, this band hits the States with their fourth studio album, Evergreen. $35 and up. 6pm.
- Red Lace Burlesque & Variety Show at Henke & Pillot – The Downtown bar offers a tantalizing show of choreography, classic burlesque routines and talented dancers. $35 and up. 6pm.
- First Friday at Inprint House – Come out to the city’s oldest poetry reading series, held on the first Friday of each month at the Montrose headquarters. Following a reading by the evening’s featured reader, writers are welcome to share their own work during an open mic session. 7pm.
- Cinema Stereo in Concert at Dan Electro’s – The high-energy melodic rock band from Nashville comes to the stage with original sound and infectious music. Houston rockers Quinn The Brain and Cactus Flowers join. $10. 8pm.
- The Spicolis: Tribute to the 80s at Main Street Crossing – Pull out your ’80s gear for a night of the greatest songs from the MTV generation at this set in Tomball. $43 and up. 8pm.
- Lisa Morales in Concert at Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe – The acclaimed Austin-based singer-songwriter delivers tunes from her extensive career at this special live acoustic performance in Galveston. $25. 8:30pm.
- Lane Bricker in Concert at Pacific Yard House | FREE – Take in an acoustic night in Conroe with East Texas singer Lane Bricker, who arrives with his single, “I Can’t Love You On The Telephone.” 8:30pm.
- Conjunto Primavera in Concert at Arena Theatre – Take in one of the most popular acts in regional Mexican music with this norteño-sax band from Ojinaga, Chihuahua. $55 and up. 8:30pm.
- Endless Summer: Beach Boys Tribute at Dosey Doe: The Big Barn – Sing along to your favorite tunes by one of the most beloved bands of all time in a tribute show that brings the true summer vibes. $20 and up. 8:30pm.
- AM/FM: The ’70s Rock Experience at Continental Club – Former members of Houston rock bands join together to deliver the biggest and best rock anthems of the ’70s. Ages 21 and up. $10 and up. 9pm.
- Grupo LMT in Concert at Warehouse Live Midtown – Dance all night to a live showcase of Norteño and Tejano tunes from Grupo LMT in Midtown. $15 and up. 9pm.
- Marauda DJ Set at Stereo Live Houston – It’s a night of Australia flavor with this riddim dubstep DJ and producer at the West Houston venue. $39.99. 10pm.
