This week brings major headliners to celebrations across Greater Houston for Independence Day, plus a festival of Afrobeats, an R&B bash, anniversary tours, and more.

  • A.C.E. at House of Blues | Monday, July 1 – The wildly popular K-Pop wave continues to crash the music scene as A.C.E. heads to the House of Blues with music from their new mini album, My Girl:My Choice. $60 and up. 6pm.
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers Tribute at Main Street Crossing | Tuesday, July 2 – Three Hot Chili Peppers take over the Tomball stage with huge hits from RHCP and other musical surprises. $26 and up. 8pm.
  • Victor Wooten & the Wooten Brothers at The Heights Theater | Wednesday, July 3 – The American bass virtuoso makes it a family affair when he and the family band, the Wooten Brothers, head to the Heights stage. $34 and up. 8pm.
  • Keeton Coffman at Main Street Crossing | Wednesday, July 3 – Houston’s own pop singer-songwriter heads to Tomball for a live show on Independence Day Eve. $29 and up. 8pm.
  • Freedom Over Texas at Eleanor Tinsley Park | Thursday, July 4 – The annual Freedom Over Texas will feature local, regional, and national entertainment, capped off with a musically choreographed, “Texas-sized” fireworks finale at Eleanor Tinsley Park. The concert stage will host a headlining set from country star Russell Dickerson, plus award-winning artists Jo Dee Messina, Chapel Hart, blues guitarist Mathias Lattin, and more. Fireworks start around 9:30pm. Tickets are $10; free ages 5 and under. 4pm to 10pm.
  • Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Thursday, July 4 | FREE – The Symphony’s Independence Day tradition returns to the Miller stage, featuring a rousing program of patriotic songs to celebrate the country’s birthday. Fireworks will cap it all off, beginning around 10pm. 8:30pm to 10pm.
  • Tribeville Music Festival at White Oak Music Hall | Friday, July 5 – Celebrate Black music and art from around the world as Tribeville curates various stages on the White Oak Music hall lawn featuring diverse genres in the name of identifying as “one tribe.” Afrobeat superstar Davido headlines. $89 and up. Noon to 11pm.
  • Conjunto Primavera at Arena Theatre | Friday, July 5 – The Mexican norteño-sax band Conjunto Primavera is finally back to play their rescheduled show at Arena Theatre. $55 and up. 8:30pm.
  • Strand Summer Series: Two Tons of Steel in Concert at Saengerfest Park | Saturday, July 6 | FREE – The Galveston park space hosts a free show from the San Antonio–based rockabilly and county group for a night of summer fun. 6pm.
  • The Queens of R&B: Xscape and SWV at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Saturday, July 6 – Queens of R&B come together in The Woodlands for a night of throwback sounds, with special guests Mya, Total and 702. $18 and up. 7pm.
  • Sarah McLachlan at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, July 6 –  The Canadian alt-pop artist celebrates the 30th anniversary of the album that proved to be her international breakthrough, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. Feist opens the show. $40 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Houston Symphony presents The Legends of Country at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, July 6 | FREE – It’s a boot-stompin’ good time as Patrick Thoms and Rachel Potter join for performances of country legends like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood and more at the Hermann Park venue. 8:30pm.
  • Sir Mix-A-Lot at House of Blues | Sunday, July 7 – The legendary “Baby Got Back” rapper and record producer, Sir Mix-A-Lot heads to the heart of Downtown for a live show. $25 and up. 7pm.
  • Air Supply at Smart Financial Centre | Sunday, July 7 – The O.G.s of soft rock sounds, Air Supply bring nearly 50 years of hits to the Sugar Land stage. $60 and up. 7pm.
  • Kenyon Dixon at White Oak Music Hall | Sunday, July 7 – A multi-Grammy Award nominee, the contemporary R&B and neo soul icon performs his newest, “Still,” and much more at White Oak. $299 and up. 7pm.
