- Texas New Music Festival at MATCH | Daily – Find your groove at this fest showcasing the talents of more than 50 composers, choreographers and instrumentalists as they present 28 world premieres. $20 and up. Times vary.
- Houston World Series of Dog Shows at NRG Center | Daily – Be charmed by 150 different breeds of man’s best friend all competing for “Best of Show,” in addition to competitive events like flyball, creative grooming, a frisbee exhibition, and canine musical freestyle. $15; free for ages 12 and under. 8am to 5pm.
- UniverSoul Circus at Butler Stadium | Daily – The all-human circus concludes its Houston run, showcasing acts and talent from five continents, world music, and dance styles from across the African diaspora. Showtimes vary.
- Comedian Emil Wakim at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – The Brooklyn-based comic arrives for back-to-back nights at the upstairs mic at Rudyard’s, following up appearances on The Tonight Show and Don’t Tell Comedy. $20 and up. 7pm.
- MFA Shop Trunk Show: Isabel Wilson of Jardín at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston | Friday to Sunday | FREE – Isabel Wilson of the Montrose boutique Jardín is welcomed for a three-day trunk show at the MFAH Shop, showcasing the custom prints, artist collaborations and circular design practice Jardín is known for. 11am to 6pm.
- Cocomelon Party Time at The Westin Galleria Houston | Friday to Sunday – Join the fun at a unique party with singing, dancing and playing based on the popular kids show. $39.50. Times vary.
- Barnum & Bailey and Ringling Bros. at NRG Stadium (Canceled) | Friday to Sunday – The global circus show comes to Houston with 75 performers representing over 18 countries with highwire acts, trapeze artists, acrobats, dancers and more. $20 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None at Alley Theatre | Friday to Sunday – Ten strangers are trapped in a deadly game of survival on a secluded island in this ongoing production filled with tension and drama. $31 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston presents Ruddigore at UH Cullen Performance Hall | Saturday & Sunday – The classic melodrama runs over the weekend, about a maiden torn between a handsome young man and a cad in this Gothic comic opera. $49 and up. Saturday 7pm; Sunday 2:30pm.

- Talk by Story Sloane III on The Sloane Family Photograph Collection at The Bryan Museum – Photographer Story Sloane III arrives to talk about this new exhibition with rarely seen photographs and film footage of Galveston and Houston. $15. 5:30pm

- Loriana Espinel: Dance of Gestures at Sabine Street Studios – In the Arts District, Colombian artist Loriana Espinel shares inspiration from pre-Colombian pictographs of the Chiribiquete National Park, devising a visual system based on the intersection of two different styles of calligraphy. 6pm to 8pm.
- Pier & Beam Happy Hour at Warren’s Inn | No Cover – Join the young professionals group from Preservation Houston for drinks at the Downtown bar, where you can meet people passionate about the city’s history, neighborhoods and architecture. 6pm to 8pm.
- Save The Locals Summer Concert: Dem Roots at Menard Park | FREE – The summer concert series in Galveston rolls on with Dem Roots taking the stage along Seawall Boulevard, along with Oje Band and Youth Soul Love. 6pm to 9pm.
- Glow Night Ride at Island Bicycle Company | FREE – Ride along the seawall on glowing beach cruisers in this summer night ride on Galveston Island, ending with drinks and dinner at Pier 21. 6:30pm.
- Comedian Dauood Naimyar at The Riot Comedy Club – Emerging from a chart-topping debut comedy release (Pier 69: Junior Varsity), Naimyar brings a unique perspective to the upstairs stage in Montrose, sharing new material that draws from his experiences as an Afghan American and the world as he sees it. $15 and up. 7pm.
- Salsa Night at Post Houston | FREE – Dance the salsa, Bachata and other Latin styles when Love Dance HTX comes through for free lessons, with RSVP. 7pm.
