• Broadway Across America presents Hadestown at Hobby Center | Daily − The Tony-winning Broadway musical lands in Downtown for one week, presenting a modern, hell-raising take on two classic tales from Greek mythology in a journey to the underworld. • International Gem & Jewelry Show at NRG Center | Thursday to Saturday − Browse the goods directly from jewelry wholesalers, manufacturers and designers. $6 in advance. Times vary.  
• Fade to Black Play Festival at MATCH | Thursday to Saturday – Take in an evening of short plays written by Black playwrights from across Texas and the U.S. $25 advance; $35 at the door. 8pm nightly.
• The Sale at Bayou City Event Center | Friday & Saturday – Find big savings from some of Houston’s premier boutiques when the annual post holiday shopping event returns. $30 one-day pass in advance; $50 two-day pass in advance; price increases at the door. Times vary.
• Red Rocket Movie Screening at 14 Pews | Friday & Saturday – The intimate church-turned-movie house presents two screenings of Sean Baker’s latest film, about a washed-up porn star—played by one-time MTV DJ and (sort of) porn actor, Simon Rex—who clashes with his estranged wife after returning to his hometown outside of Houston. $12. 7pm both nights.
• Sojourns on the Silk Road: From the Orient to the Occident at MATCH | Friday & Saturday | Virtual Option – Take a musical journey of French and Spanish art song at a concert featuring mezzo-soprano Jessica Blau, pianist Katherine Ciscon, guitarist Marc Rosenberg, and flamenco dancer Fanny Ara. • The Riot Comedy Show presents Comic Pedro Gonzalez at Rudyard’s | Friday & Saturday − Catch the clever comedy of Columbian-born comedian Pedro Gonzalez, who immigrated to the U.S. at age 19, as he subverts expectations about dating, working, and living in America. Showtimes vary. 
• Houston Symphony: Pink Martini with China Forbes & Ari Shapiro at Jones Hall | Friday to Sunday | Virtual Option – The genre-bending “little orchestra” comes to the home of the Houston Symphony, featuring China Forbes and a special appearance by NPR’s Ari Shapiro. $29 and up; $20 for the Saturday livestream. • Donnell Rawlings at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday – Comedian Donnell Rawlings—known for his roles on Chapelle’s Show and Netflix’s  The Degenerates— brings his latest show, 2Soon to Houston. Starts at $50 for a table for two. Times vary.
• The Bridal Extravaganza Show at George R. • 69th Houston Cat Club Charity Cat Show at Houston Hilton North | Saturday & Sunday − Check out 40+ breeds of cats vying to be best in show at this annual fundraiser in Greenspoint. $10; $8 for ages 65+; $5 for ages 10 and under. Times vary.
