  • WWII Winter Encampment at George Ranch Historical Park – Get a glimpse into life on the front lines for soldiers during World War II at this winter encampment reenactment in Fort Bend. $15; $10 for ages 4 to 12; free for ages 3 and under. 9am to 5pm.
  • 2023 Lunar New Year Festival at Asia Society Texas Center | FREE – Welcome in the Year of the Rabbit with cultural performances, arts and crafts activities and globally-inspired foods at Asia Society in the Museum District. While free to attend and enjoy the festival, performances from the Huaxing Arts Group Houston are ticketed and cost $10. 11am to 4pm.
  • Performing Arts Houston presents Gazillion Bubble Show at Jones Hall – The young and young-at-heart will be mesmerized by bubbles filling the air at this one-day only show that also features high-impact special effects, laser lighting, interactive performances and audience participation. $29 and up. 11am and 3pm.
  • Post Flea at Post Houston | No Cover – Shop from local vendors and small businesses doling out wares in original art, jewelry, apothecary and more at the curated, indoor market at Post. 11am to 6pm.

  • ’80s Winter Prom Night at William Price Distilling – Grab your best polyester for a throwback prom night in Garden Oaks that features cocktails, photo ops and the crowning of the prom king and queen. $25; $40 for 2. 7pm to 11pm.
  • Bohemian Studio Benefit Concert at Avant Garden – The storied Montrose venue hosts an eclectic, genre-spanning lineup of musical acts in support of Bohemian Studio, one of the artists whose studio was damaged in December’s Winter Street Studios fire. $10. 7pm to midnight.

  • Lunar New Year Festival & Fried Rice Cook-Off at The Phoenix on Westheimer – Try a wide array of interpretations of fried rice, pulling from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, at this 6th annual cook-off in Montrose. Plus, try your hand at games to win a red envelope, enjoy face painting and money trees for the kiddos, a ping pong tournament, and more. $25 and up. Noon to 5pm.
  • Valentine’s Artisan Market at Megaton Brewery | No Cover – The Kingwood brewery hosts more than 75 local artists, creatives and makers for all your gift-giving needs ahead of Valentine’s Day. While there, enjoy live music, food trucks and tasty brews. Noon to 5pm.

  • Ocky Way Pop-Up with TikTok Chef Rahim Mohamed at Burger Bodega – The Brooklyn-based, 4 million followers-strong TikTok influencer and bodega chef, Rah Mohammed, will be serving up his Ocky Way chopped cheese sandwiches—mixed with large portions of meat and fried food like burgers, chicken cutlets, mozzarella sticks, french fries, chicken tenders, pancakes, and more—for a single afternoon. 1pm to 7pm, while supplies last.
  • Main Street Theater for Youth presents The Lightning Thief at MATCH | Opening Day – Based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling book, this musical finds a teenage Percy Jackson discovering he’s a demigod. Now, he must find Zeus’ lightning bolt and prevent a war among the gods. Recommended for fifth grade and older. This production rungs through Sunday, February 19. $20 and up. 2:30pm.
