- 20th Anniversary Rockets Run at Toyota Center – Benefiting Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, the family-friendly casual Rockets Run is offered in 2-mile, 5K and Kids K increments, beginning outside Toyota Center and ending across half-court. Registration starts at $40. 7:30am.
- Old Pearland Farmers Market at Independence Park | No Cover – Browse local produce, plus crafts, food, and other goodies. 9am to 1pm.
- Bunnies & Bagels at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center – Ages 5 to 10 are welcome at this two-hour dropoff class, where kids will learn about native rabbits and then head out on the trails to spot signs of bunnies in the wild. 9:30am to 11:30am. $30; $20 members.
- Expose Excellence Youth Program presents Exposing Black Artistry at Landmark Community Center | FREE – Students ages 10 to 17 from all backgrounds are invited to an interactive art workshop and poetry contest inspired by Black History Month. Includes lunch and a midday arts performance. 10am.
- 10th Annual MIMS Lunar New Year Celebration at the Mandarin Immersion Magnet School | FREE – Keep the Year of the Tiger party going at an outdoor festival featuring lion and dragon dances, dance performances, a martial arts exhibition, food trucks, inflatables, a dunk tank, free crafts, and more. The event is free, and tickets are used for most activities and food. 10 tickets for $10. 10am to 2pm.
- Mardi Gras Celebration at Kemah Boardwalk | FREE – Head down to the boardwalk and enjoy an all-day family-friendly celebration with music on the Plaza Stage from 3 Spot 12 and Flashpoint, plus kids crafts and a yachty gras boat parade at 7pm. Noon to 8pm.
- Bubbles & More Play Day at Nature Discovery Center – Bring your favorite kiddos to Bellaire for an afternoon of outdoor play with bubbles big and small, hula hoops, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, and more. 1pm to 3pm.
- Muddy Trails 5K at Rob Fleming Park in the Woodlands – The 2022 edition of this Woodlands run event sends runners through the beautiful George Mitchell Nature Preserve on a 5K course, ending with a post-race party complete with live Zydeco tunes and a crawfish cookoff. $35. 3pm.
- Indian Music Society of Houston at Children’s Museum Houston – Let the littles watch a thrilling Tabla drumming performance from the Indian Music Society of Houston. Included with general admission; $12 for ages 1 and up. 3pm.
- George Ranch Rodeo at George Ranch Historical Park – For more than 100 years, Black cowboys played an essential role in Fort Bend County ranching and this rodeo celebrates that heritage. Expect a live rodeo and entertainment, kids activities, craft and food booths, and more. $20; $10 for ages 12 and under. 4pm to 9:30pm.
- NBA Slam Dunk Contest on TNT – Houston Rocket and No. 2 draft pick Jalen Green highlights the 2022 Slam Dunk Contest taking place during All-Star Weekend in Cleveland. Don’t miss your chance to see the high flier take part in a signature NBA competition. Broadcast on TNT. 7pm.
- Underoath at Bayou Music Center – Touring their first album in four years, Voyeurist, the metalcore band from Tampa takes the stage at Downtown’s Bayou Music Center. $35. 7:30pm.
- Elle King at Warehouse Live – The Americana singer-songwriter stops by Warehouse while on her Drunk And I Don’t Want to Go Home tour, named for her recent single release that features country artist Miranda Lambert. $30 and up. 8pm.
- Koresh Dance Company at Evelyn Rubenstein JCC – The ERJCC’s Kaplan Theatre welcomes israeli-born choreographer and artistic director Ronen Koresh and company for a performance that blends ballet, modern and jazz dance forms. $30. 8pm.
- Victor Manuelle & India in Concert at Arena Theatre – After topping Billboard’s tropical chart last year with “Victimas Los Dos”, the duo bring their combined Spanish catalog to the Sharpstown theater in the round. $70 and up, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the online resale marketplace. 8:30pm.
- Dion Pride: A Tribute to My Dad, Charley at Dosey Doe: the Big Barn – The son of the late, legendary country singer, Charley Pride, Dion comes to the Woodlands to perform many beloved hits of his father’s decorated career. $58 and up; includes a three-course dinner. 8:30pm.
- Jackie Venson in Concert at Rockefeller’s – Austin’s multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter brings her beautifully complex music and blazing guitar skills back to H-Town. $25 to $30. 9pm.

- Children’s Texas Art Festival at Bayou Bend Collection & Gardens | FREE – Celebrating art that helps forge a connection to Texas and American heritage—and created for and by kids, the free event offers demos, art-making workshops, games, a group project, and more. 1pm to 5pm.
- Revelry on Richmond Crawfish & Mardi Gras Kick-off Party | No Cover – Get ready for Mardi Gras season with all-you-can eat crawfish for $35—or for $5 per pound, including sides like corn or potatoes—while enjoying live tunes from Zydeco Dots, beer specials, and a bloody Mary bar. 1pm to 8pm.
- DaCamera presents Monochromatic Light (Afterlife) at Rothko Chapel – Composer Tyshawn Sorey conducts DaCamera artists and the Houston Chamber Choir in the premiere performance of his original commission celebrating the 50th anniversary of Rothko Chapel. $25. 3pm.
- Rodeo Clown Roundup at Karbach Brewing Co. – Launch into Rodeo season with a live music lineup featuring Aaron Copeland, Shinyribs, and Flatland Cavalry. $35. 3pm to 10pm.
- Kinetic Ensemble presents Timeless Stables at Archway Gallery | FREE with RSVP – Kinetic presents a musical program to accompany the works on display by Iranian-born artist Maryam Lavaf. There will be visual and sculptural works, spoken word, music, and more. Free, but there is a suggested donation of $25. 6pm.
- The 8th Wonder Comedy Hour at The Secret Group – Shake off the Sundays with a hilarious powerhouse of comics, headlined this week by Tressa Eleby. $8 includes entry, an 8th Wonder beer, and a souvenir pint glass to take home. 6pm to 8pm.
- Rodeo Uncorked! Roundup & Best Bites Competition at NRG Park – Sample signature dishes from approximately 100 of the area’s top restaurants and culinary institutions, and vote for your favorites in the Best Bites Competition, which also boasts 450 award-winning wines. $165, with reserved and premium tables available. 6:30pm.
- Wale in Concert at House of Blues – The rapper and familiar face on the Billboard Hot 100 comes to Downtown’s House of Blues while touring his October 2021 release, Folarin II. $30 and up. 8pm.
- Houndmouth in Concert at The Heights Theater – The Indiana-bred American alternative blues band lands the historic 19th Street theater for a Sunday evening show, with Buffalo NicholsOpening. $29. 8pm.
