• 5K Beer Run at Southern Star Brewery – Start your Saturday with a run through the neighborhoods around the Conroe brewery. Following the race, chill out with a brew in a souvenir pint glass that you’ll get for crossing the finish line, and enjoy bites from food trucks on site. $65 and up. 8am.
• Second Saturday Bird Survey at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | FREE – Start your day by helping the Arboretum monitor birds on this relaxed morning walk along the trails. You’ll be able to work on your bird-watching skills, learn about bird species and spend time alongside fellow bird lovers. 8am to 10am.
• The Life and Art of Samuel Bak Educator Workshop at Holocaust Museum Houston – Exploring the life and work of the Holocaust survivor and artist, this workshop for educators blends history and art, and offers teachers suggestions on how to integrate Bak’s work and legacy into classroom lessons. Educators receive 4 CPE and 3 GT hours. Suggested donation $18 and up. 9am to 1pm.
• Contemporary Arts Museum Houston presents West African Dance Workshop at the DeLuxe Theater | FREE – Join choreographer Shani Diouf for a community dance and movement workshop focusing on traditional West African dance and culture. Participants will learn the movements, style, rhythms, and cultural significance of the dances while also focusing on body strength and flexibility. This class is open to all levels of dance ability. RSVP requested, as space is limited. 10am to 11am.
• Trail Mix: Music, Magic & More at M-K-T | FREE – This free monthly variety show is great for kiddos and the young at heart, featuring live music by Andy Roo, magic from the father-and-son duo of David and Jake Rangel, free samples from Mendocino Farms, and more. 10am to 11am.

• The Infinite Force at Children’s Museum Houston – This Star Wars-inspired event will let you travel to a galaxy far, far away. • Japan America Society of Houston presents Origami in the Park at Evelyn’s Park | FREE – Whether you’re an advanced artist or a beginner, you’ll be able to showcase your creativity in this hands-on class. Each project showcases a different Japanese holiday or celebration. You’ll learn from origami experts and enthusiasts, and get to take your creation home. 11am to noon.
• H-Town Market at Post Houston | No Cover – More than 200 vendors offering an array of artwork, jewelry, vintage goods, crafts, flowers, skin care and more turn the second floor of this downtown destination into a unique shopping experience. Pick up something for yourself or gifts for others as you chat with creators about their work and curated collections. Then visit one of Post’s food and drink stalls for tasty treats. 11am to 7pm.
• Red Bull Batalla: Regional Qualifier at Metropolis | FREE – Witness 16 of the top MCs in the country battle it out for a spot at the National Final for Red Bull Batalla, the world’s largest Spanish-language freestyle rap competition series. Noon to 2:30pm.
• 7th Anniversary Party at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. | FREE – Throw it back to the ’90s for this birthday bash that celebrates seven years of Eureka Heights’ tasty brews. Get munchies from steak night chef Daniel from South Korean eatery Yong, enjoy live ska from The Suspects, snag exclusive ’90s merch, and shop local vendors. Noon to 6pm.
• BAM! Market at Silver Street Studios | FREE – Exhibitors and artists offer a unique array of artwork, jewelry and more. Stroll the studios, talk to the artists based there, and catch demonstrations and music throughout the day. Food trucks and libations will also be available. Noon to 7pm.
• Back-to-School Fashion Show & Supply Drive at First Colony Mall | FREE – Gather at Center Court to see teen and tot models showcase the latest clothing trends, enter to win door prizes and make a donation to BEAR/The Houston Heart Gallery to help children in need. 1pm to 3pm.

• Author Ally Carter at Blue Willow Bookshop | FREE – The best-selling YA author showcases her debut adult rom-com-action thriller, The Blonde Identity, which tells the story of a woman who wakes up in Paris with no memory. Called a “delightful, hilarious and unputdownable romance” by New York Times bestselling author Ali Hazelwood, this novel should delight fans looking to blend their romance with spy-thriller escapades. • Masterpieces of Cello & Piano at Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts – Part of the Spring museum’s Wanda M. Pauling Performance Concert Series, this show brings together Ben Sieben on piano and Christoph Wagner on cello as they perform classical pieces together and as soloists. $20 suggested donation. 4pm.
• Market on Main in the Museum District | FREE – In the heart of the Museum District, across from Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, you’ll find this vibrant market with local vendors, food trucks serving up delicious bites and meals, and more. 4pm to 8:30pm.
• Puff Puff Poetry 2nd Anniversary: All White Affair at Tribeca – This evening of performance poetry with just a hint of musical inspiration is a chance for you to watch She So Cold and Bro Malcolm The Poet, and more as they capture the magic of the spoken word. $25 and up. 7pm.
• Stevie Nicks in Concert at Toyota Center – The rock and roll legend known for her killer vocals as a soloist and with Fleetwood Mac comes to Houston for a live performance. Inducted twice into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, she’s in Houston following the first leg of her solo tour. $59 and up. 7pm.

• Landry’s Houston Chef Series Grand Finale at Post Oak Hotel – Capping off a summer of history-themed dining at Landry’s restaurants across Houston, this Grand Finale celebration sees participating chefs concocting courses paired with cocktails and wine for a Grand Ballroom dinner event. $200. 7pm.
• Foreigner in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The legendary ’70s rock and roll band from New York City will “Feel Like the First Time” for the last time when they bring decades of hits to the Woodlands on their The Historic Farewell Tour. $29.50 and up. 7pm.
• Houston Grunge Fest at Warehouse Live | FREE – This evening of music celebrates the genre that fused punk and heavy metal to create an alt-music style all its own. Relive your mid-’80 and ‘90s with this concert. 7:30pm.
• Sonny Landreth in Concert at the Heights Theater – The guitarist, songwriter and bandleader performs songs from his catalog, including his latest 10-song collection that stretches from hard-edged electric instrumentals to wistful acoustic ballads. NPR called him “a guitarist’s guitarist.” See why musicians and fans love his work. $24 and up. 8pm.
• Indian Performing Arts Sanskriti presents Incredible India: Rudrakshya at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – This all-male dance ensemble is known for their perfected movements, rhythmic components and sculpturesque poses as they perform traditional classical dances from the Indian state of Odisha. This night also marks two special milestones of Miller’s centennial along with the 75th anniversary of India’s founding. 8:30pm.

• Goat Yoga at Karbach Brewing – As you downward dog and flow through sun salutations at the Spring Branch brewery, goats roam among you, maybe joining in a pose or two. Following your 45-minute class, you’ll have 30 minutes to greet the goats. Stick around after for a beer. Mats are available for rent, if needed. $45 and up. 10am.
• The Black Wedding Market at Stafford Centre – Check out this curated selection of vendors committed to serving and empowering couples of diverse backgrounds. This is a chance for guests to create the wedding of their dreams, and learn more about planning for the big day. $10. 1pm.
• Obscure Houston Oddities Market at Numbers – From the fascinating to the strange, all varieties of bizarre and obscure items are available from more than 35 merchants at this unique shopping experience. Head to the Montrose nightclub for a chance to shop and chat with these vendors and artisans. $7 in advance; $10 at the door. 1pm to 7pm.
• Moving Pictures in Concert at Rise Rooftop | FREE – The Midtown bar and concert venue welcomes this Rush tribute band for an afternoon concert. This two-hour set includes classic Rush songs like “Tom Sawyer,” “The Spirit of Radio” and more. Free general admission; VIP tables start at $100. 3pm.

Fans can flock to NRG for a sneak peek at the Houston Texans squad before preseason kicks off later this month.

• Sunday Funday Drag Show at Katy Vibes – Extravagant costumes, mesmerizing dance moves and incredible lip-syncing skills are just some of what you can expect at this fabulous 21+ show. $5. 3pm.
• Curator Talk: Sophie Asakura on Nestor Topchy at the Menil Collection | FREE – Artist Nestor Topchy painted several family members and friends in a style echoing Byzantine iconography. Modern and Contemporary Art Curatorial Assistant Sophie Asakura offers insight into his work, giving guests a deeper experience of the exhibit. 3pm to 3:30pm. 
• Plant Swap at Craft Beer Cellars | No Cover – Gardeners and the gardening curious are welcome to come out to Cypress for this event, where attendees can swap plants and clippings, and talk to like-minded new friends about growing and gardening. While there, grab a brew with your new buds. 3pm to 6pm.
• H-Town Sneaker Summit at NRG Park – Buy, sell or trade rare and collectible footwear when thousands of sneakers and other streetwear and vintage apparel hits the Sneaker Summit. $20 and up. 3pm to 8pm.
• Shake, Rattle & Roll in Concert at Main Street Crossing – Rock out to the music of the 1950s and ‘60s with this tribute band that celebrates the hits of early rock and roll, Motown and more. The all-female ensemble has performed across the country and around the world, lending their harmonies to these iconic songs. $48 and up. 4pm.
• Mudvayne in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – It’s about to be an extravaganza of heavy metal when paint-clad rockers Mudvayne embark on their first tour in fourteen years with none other than Gwar, Coal Chamber, Nonpoint, and more. $35 and up. 5:30pm.
• Queen Legacy at Bernhardt Winery – Take a trip back in time with this Queen tribute band, singing the songs made iconic by Freddie Mercury. All your favorites and deep cuts are on the playlist, and you’ll dig the Plantersville winery’s atmosphere. $17 and up. 7pm.
