- Home Opener: Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics at Minute Maid Park | Thursday to Saturday – Root, root, root for the home team when the ‘Stros step up to the plate for their Home Opener on Thursday, kicking of a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics. $25 to more than $200, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork marketplace. - Home Opener Astros Viewing Party at Lucky’s Pub West near Energy Corridor | Thursday to Saturday | No Cover – Watch all the action from jumbo screens while cheering on the ‘Stros during their opening weekend of home games while enjoying drink specials, live DJs, crawfish and more in Lucky’s Pub West’s parking lot celebration. 11am to 11pm each day.
- Lower Heights Curb Market at Sawyer Heights Lofts | Thursday, Saturday & Sunday | No Cover – In the Lower Heights area near Target, this weekly market takes place every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, bringing together food vendors, small businesses, and local artisans for visitors to peruse. Times vary.
- AIDS Walk Houston 2021: Virtual Edition | Ends Friday | Virtual – Walk, run, dance, swim, or even cook to help raise funds for ending the HIV epidemic in the final days of AIDS Foundation Houston’s 32nd annual fundraiser, which was extended through Friday, April 9, 2021.
- 6th Annual Black Restaurant Week in Houston, Galveston & Beaumont | Starts Friday – Celebrate the sixth year of Black Restaurant Week Houston during a showcase of flavors of African-American, African, and Caribbean cuisine in Houston and beyond with special menus and prices. For 2021 Black-owned restaurants and food trucks in Galveston and Beaumont have been added to the campaign, which features 103 participating restaurants. This event ends after Sunday, April 11, 2021 Times, prices and locations vary.
- College Baseball: Rice Owls vs. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at Reckling Park | Friday to Sunday – Fighting to secure a .500 record, the Owls will play four games against the LA Tech Bulldogs, including a doubleheader on Saturday, April 10. Tickets range from $8 to over $30, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. Times vary.
- The Woodlands Waterway Art Festival at Town Green Park | Saturday & Sunday – Shop for fine art from more than 150 international, national and regional artists at one of the top ranked art festivals in the U.S. Enjoy live music, local food, beer, wine and children’s art activities for a fun family experience. $17 both day, $12 single day tickets; free ages 12 and under. 9am to 6pm both days.
- Spring Breakout Aerial Adventures at Big Rivers Waterpark | Saturday & Sunday – Head to New Caney for an outdoor adventure featuring an inflatable obstacle course on the lake, climbing walls, zip lines, aerial activities, axe throwing, a petting zoo and more. $14.99 per person and most activities are available with this general admission pass. Extreme Breakout passes, which include the additional events are $59.99, but a limited number are discounted to $42 on select days. 11am to 5pm both days.
- Crawfish & Zydeco Festival at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday & Sunday | No Cover – Enjoy two days of mudbug and Zydeco fun when the Kemah Boardwalk hosts an all-day event featuring fresh-boiled crawfish and live music from Keyun & The Zydeco Masters, Zydeco Dots and more. Times vary.
- Larry Gatlin at Main Street Crossing in Tomball | Saturday & Sunday – The eldest of legendary country-gospel group The Gatlin Brothers, Larry Gatlin make a two-night appearance in Tomball for performances of his most memorable tunes. Four to a table for $340, premium tables for six are $450. Showtimes vary.
- Astrodome Conservancy presents Race for the Dome: Virtual Edition with Limited Onsite Race Option | Daily | Virtual Option – Race to promote a brighter future for the Astrodome at this in-person and virtual race benefiting the Astrodome Conservancy. Runners, walkers and strollers are encouraged to race eight laps (approximately 5K) at their own pace through Sunday, April 11. Registration starts at $30.
- Consequential Journeys Exhibition at Archway Gallery | Daily – Witness Archway’s April 2021 exhibition, Consequential Journeys, featuring new works by Becky Soria that explore the human figure, less from its familiar shapes and much more from within, in an effort to bring to life the stark perceptions of the difficult times we are living in currently. - Front Lawn Film Nights: Enter the Dragon Movie Screening at Asia Society Texas Center – The third screening of Asia Society’s outdoor film series showcasing groundbreaking filmmakers and artists brings Bruce Lee’s final film, Enter the Dragon, to the front lawn of the Museum District. This work from the legendary martial arts master remains one of the most influential kung fu films of all time. Lawn seating is available by the pod (up to 4 people) for $40; $30 for members. 8pm.
