  • Danielle Reich’s Swing Duo in Concert at One Fifth Southern Comfort | No Cover – Tap your toes to the catchy tunes of Danielle Reich when the Houston-based jazz vocalist performs on the patio at Chef Chris Shepherd’s One Fifth in Montrose. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Sound Healing Meditation in the Cistern at Buffalo Bayou Park – Take a moment to pause and find your center in the cavernous Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern during this evening meditation session. $15. 6pm to 6:45pm.
  • Brushes & Brews at B-52 Brewing Paint your next masterpiece while enjoying a cold local brew during the two-hour Brushes & Brews event at B-52 Brewing in Conroe. $37 per person. 6pm.
  • The Fab 5 in Concert at Market Street | FREE – Hear ’60s era favorites from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more, when the Houston-based tribute band, The Fab 5, performs at Market Street in The Woodlands. 6pm to 8pm.
  • MFAH presents Virtual Lecture: Artist Guillermo Kuitca on Zoom | FREE | Virtual – Artist Guillermo Kuitca joins Latin American art curators Mari Carmen Ramírez and Rachel Mohl from the Museum of Fine Arts Houston for a discussion that explores, “What is contemporary art?” 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
  • Zumba on the Lawn at Redemption Square | FREE – Get your bod moving in Atascocita at an outdoor Zumba class on the lawn of Redemption Square, held in the evening. 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
  • Throwback Thursday at The Rink at Discovery Green  Dress in your best flashy disco fashion and strap on a pair of rollerskates at this throwback-themed event, where you’ll skate to the sounds of Diana Ross, the Bee Gees and more. $12 per person, including skate rentals. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Madam Radar in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Virtual Option – Experience Austin-based four-piece folk band Madam Radar when they take the stage at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck in Upper Kirby for a socially distanced set. This performance is also broadcast on the Mucky Duck’s YouTube page. In-person tickets are sold out, but virtual tickets start at $30 and help to support the band. 7pm.
  • Brewery Bingo at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. | No Cover –  Shout “Bingo!” while enjoying a few cold ones when Eureka Heights Brewery in the Heights hosts six rounds of brewery bingo in their taproom. 7pm to 8:30pm.
  • Astros Home Opener at Little Woodrow’s Midtown | No Cover – Throw back a pint while celebrating the return of Astros baseball with hot dogs, Cracker Jacks, and specials on Budweiser and Karbach beer at the Little Woodrow’s Midtown location. 7pm.
  • Holocaust Museum Houston presents Virtual Yom HaShoah Observance | FREE | Virtual – Observe Yom HaShoah, a day of remembrance for the 6,000,000 Jewish people who lost their lives during the Holocaust, when the Holocaust Museum Houston hosts an online event in honor of those who perished on YouTube live. 7pm to 8pm.
  • Brazos Bookstore presents Virtual Conversation with Author Natalie Standiford on Zoom | FREE | Virtual – Hear from authors Natalie Standiford and Donna Freitas during a virtual conversation where they’ll be discussing Standiford’s book Astrid Sees All in a Zoom talk hosted by Brazos Bookstore. Free, but registration is required. The book is available to purchase for $27. 7pm.
  • The Office Themed Trivia at Southern Star Brewing Co. | No Cover – Flex your knowledge of NBC’s The Office during a trivia night that has everything to do with Jim, Pam, and Michael Scott at Southern Star Brewery in Conroe. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Turtle Racing: Season 13 at Little Woodrow’s Midtown | No Cover – Watch as slow and steady wins the race during an evening of light-hearted turtle races, DJ tunes, and great drinks when Little Woodrow’s in Midtown hosts their weekly turtle races, now in its 13th year. 8pm to 1am.

  • Buffalo Soldiers National Museum presents American UnMasked on Zoom | FREE | Virtual – Listen in on a candid virtual conversation between Denver artist Terran Watkins and Buffalo Soldiers National Museum as Watkins shares his passion for photography, his new love for activism, and what the exhibition, America UnMasked, means to him. 3pm to 4pm.
  • Midtown Houston presents Virtual Text Breakers | FREE | Virtual – Take part in a virtual comedy game show where guests can enjoy trivia, drawing games, tune recognition and more when Midtown Houston hosts their Text Breakers event online. 5pm to 6pm.
  • Evelyn’s Park Conservancy presents Virtual Hot Pilates on Facebook | FREE | Virtual – Enjoy a full-body workout from home designed to strengthen muscles and improve your overall health when Evelyn’s Park Conservancy in Bellaire hosts a virtual Hot Pilates class on Facebook Live. 5pm to 6pm.
  • AIDS Walk Houston 2021: Virtual Celebration | FREE | Virtual – AIDS Foundation Houston celebrates the conclusion of its spring 2021 fundraiser with a rousing online presentation hosted by a surprise local celebrity and showcasing special performances and appearances from community leaders. 6pm.
  • 2021 Art Dash Party at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel – Kick off this weekend’s Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival at a Friday night fundraiser featuring participating artists and an option to grab your favorite original art to take home in just 60 seconds when your name is called. Tickets start at $150. 6pm.
  • Jackopierce in Concert at The Heights Theater The folk-pop duo of Jack O’Neill and Cary Pierce head to The Heights for two Friday night performances. Tickets range from $24 to $384. 6pm and 8:45pm; doors open 30 minutes prior to each show.
  • FUNomenal Fridays at The Rink at Discovery Green – Skate into the night under the Houston skyline while jamming to music by DJ Boris and taking in a light show. $12 per person, including skate rental. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Luba Dvorak and Brooklyn Twang in Concert at The Continental Club Tap your toes to the country-rock sounds of Luba Dvorak and his band Brooklyn Twang when they take the outdoor stage at The Continental Club in Midtown. $10. 7pm.
  • Opry on the Square at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE – Head to Sugar Land to enjoy an evening of country favorites when Sugar Land Town Square hosts a night for all generations of country music fans. 7:30pm.
  • Challenge Cup 2021 Opening Match: Houston Dash vs. Chicago Red Stars at BBVA Stadium H-Town’s reigning 2020 Challenge Cup champs return home for the opening game of the 2021 edition of the tournament, kicking things off with a rematch against the 2020 runners-up, Chicago Red Stars and former Dash teammate Kealia Watt. Tickets start at $10. 7:30pm.
  • Front Lawn Film Nights: Enter the Dragon Movie Screening at Asia Society Texas Center The third screening of Asia Society’s outdoor film series showcasing groundbreaking filmmakers and artists brings Bruce Lee’s final film, Enter the Dragon, to the front lawn of the Museum District. This work from the legendary martial arts master remains one of the most influential kung fu films of all time. Lawn seating is available by the pod (up to 4 people) for $40; $30 for members. 8pm.
  • The Bodyguard Movie Screening at Market Square Park | FREE – Hit Downtown with your picnic blanket to watch the 1992 romance classic, The Bodyguard, starring Whitney Houston as pop diva Rachel Marron who enlists the help of a bodyguard (Kevin Costner) to deal with a stalker. 8pm.
  • Glen Templeton in Concert at Dosey Doe: The Big Barn Tap your feet to the beat of country music singer-songwriter Glen Templeton when he takes the stage to perform his country licks at The Big Barn in The Woodlands. Jake Bush opens the show. $24; $20 for an obstructed view. 7:30pm.
  • Emo Night at Warehouse Live Get all the feels while dancing it out to all the saddest songs when DJ Afro Joe spins nothing but emo music at Warehouse Live in EaDo. $10 to $13. 10pm.
