  • Run for the Rose 5K & Family K at University of Houston – This 20th annual charity run raises funds for brain cancer research in the name of Dr. Marnie Rose, who lost her life to the disease in 2002. Those participating will follow a stroll, 1K, or 5K route snaking through a part of the University of Houston campus. $35 and up; $15 and up for ages 3 to 12. 8am.
  • Goat Yoga & Discovery Playtime at B-52 Brewing Head to Conroe and join Goat Yoga Houston for this all-levels yoga class where goats “help” you meditate and perfect your poses. All levels welcome. $36. 10am.
  • Houston BrisketU at Spindletop Brewery Up your grill game as you learn tips from accomplished pit masters. $119. Noon to 3pm.
  • Brazilian Food & Music Festival at Wildcatter Saloon Live music, vendors and authentic Brazilian food are all part of the festivities at this annual family-friendly event celebrating the culture of Brasil. $10. Noon to 6pm.
  • Taste of the Nation at the Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park – With 100% of event proceeds benefiting the No Kid Hungry campaign to end childhood hunger in Texas and across the U.S., Houston’s Taste of the Nation returns for 2023, featuring dozens of the city’s top culinary talents—including Ryan Pera, Bobby Mattos, Alba Huerta, Leonard Botello IV, Evelyn Garcia, Rebecca Masson, and more. Guests can expect an afternoon of unlimited bites, curated drinks and entertainment to the backdrop of the city skyline. $95; $35 for youth admission; $115 for early admission at noon. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Obscure Houston Oddities Market April Fools Festival at Numbers Nightclub This one-of-a-kind market features a goth boutique, taxidermy, bones and skulls, antiques, and other curiosities from local vendors. $7 in advance; $10 at the door. 1pm to 8pm.
  • Pug Social at Little Woodrow’s Midtown | FREE Bring your pug along to play with fellow canines while you chill with other pug parents at the Midtown outpost of Little Woodrow’s. 2pm.
  • Selena Day at Dan Electros | FREE – DJ Rosez spins a tribute to Selena at the Heights bar, which also screens the Queen’s iconic concert in the Astrodome. 2pm to 5pm.
