- Second Saturday at Sawyer Yards | No Cover – Tour more than 350 open art studios, explore an outdoor makers market, and grab a craft brew with friends and family at the six studio buildings on the Sawyer Yards campus. Noon to 5pm.
- Drop-In Experience: Scavenger Hunt for Textures at CAMH | FREE – In conjunction with Wild Life: Elizabeth Murray & Jessi Reaves, this Contemporary Arts Museum Houston drop-in event sends visitors on a scavenger hunt for different textures, along with other activities you can do in-person or at home. 1pm to 4pm.
- Pre-Mother’s Day Cooking Class at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen – This special cooking class will cover South Texas Mexican breakfast favorites—think chilaquiles, migas, gorditas, and beans, as well as acting as a hands-on tortilla bootcamp. $65 per person, includes all materials, the class, and a meal. - Pesado at Arena Theatre – The Grammy-nominated Norteño group makes its way to the stage at Southwest Houston’s legendary Arena Theatre, performing many of their chart-topping hits from a nearly thirty year career. $75 to over $135, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8:30pm.
- Annika Chambers at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Virtual Option– The award-winning, Houston-based jazz vocalist, Annika Chambers, brings her powerful stylings that blend blues and gospel for a knockout performance at the Mucky Duck. This concert will also be broadcast on Mucky Duck’s YouTube page. $120 for a table of four; $30 virtual ticket helps support the artist. 9:30pm.

- Mother’s Day Take-Out Specials at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen – Choose from a Mother’s Day Parillada, which includes chicken and beef fajitas as well as mesquite-grilled quail, or the South Texas Mesquite BBQ Picnic Pack with mesquite ribs, potato salad, and more when Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen offers Mother’s Day Take-Out Specials, ranging from $34 to $79.95. All day.
- Mother’s Day Neighbor’s Market and Brunch at Revival Market – Revival Market and Genara have invited friends and neighbors to a Makers Market in both parking lots on this Mother’s Day. Shop the market and celebrate mom by brunching on duck confit omelets, seasonal quiche, and croissant french toast at Revival. Brunch runs 8am to 4pm.
- Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch at the 1880 Garten Verein in Galveston – Pull up a chair for the Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch at the 1880 Garten Verein, one of Galveston’s most historic buildings, held in conjunction with the 47th annual Galveston Historic Home Tour.
