Cap off the Strand Summer Series with a free local music showcase in the park

Wrap up an island summer at the big finale of the Strand Summer Series with a free live concert featuring Galvezton, India Tigers in Texas & Kevin Anthony & G-Town at Saengerfest Park in historic downtown Galveston.

Presented by Galveston Historical Foundation, the family friendly Strand Summer series has entertained island locals and visitors since the spring, with free concerts from Texas artists and outdoor movie screenings.

In keeping with the Galveston’s recognition as a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Music Office earlier this year, this edition of the strand summer series is an embrace of the island’s own emerging music scene.

Craft beer and wine will be on sale, and there will food trucks and vendors on-site.

The concert is completely free, plus a limited number of VIP tickets are available for $25 that include a reserved viewing area, artist meet and greets, and more. Order VIP access or learn more.

Galvezton

Eclectic songwriter, poet, musician and surfer Robert Kuhn was born in Houston and moved back to Galveston after bouncing around the world for 12 years. He went from Academic All-American line backer to a vagabond fisherman farmer writing the critically acclaimed songs he has carried throughout the Americas. He also founded the local cultural nonprofit La Izquierda Fest, which produces the island’s annual La Izquierda Surf & Music Festival and other local music events.

India Tigers in Texas

Since the release of their debut album, India Tigers in Texas have quickly carved a seat for them selves at the Texas psychedelic table. They’ve shared the stage with luminaries of their genre such as The Shivas, Death Valley Girls, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Acid Mothers Temple, Alex Maas, Christian Bland and the Revelators, and Bubble Puppy.

Kevin Anthony & G-Town

Mixing country, Cajun, blues, Mexican and swamp pop influences, Kevin Anthony & G-Town channels that unique Gulf Coast Sound. They play the kind of music you have on when you want to dance, drink, and have fun with friends and family.
