Como La Flor Market at the Esplanade on Navigation | Saturday, April 12 | FREE – The recurring pet-friendly market in East Downtown offers an afternoon of cumbias, cultural, and local vendors offering handcrafted and one-of-a-kind goods, while doubling down with some special tributes to Selena. 11am to 4pm.
Selena Celebration Vendor Fair at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, April 12 | FREE – More than 40 vendors set up shop at the Pearland destination, where multiple acts will take the stage for a high-energy set that delivers the hits of Selena Quintanilla. 11am to 6pm.
La Flor: The Music of Selena at Jones Hall | Saturday, April 12 & Sunday, April 13 – Celebrate Selena’s life, music, and enduring legacy as sensational vocalist Isabel Marie Sanchez joins the Houston Symphony for your favorite Selena songs, including “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” “Como la Flor,” and “Dreaming of You.” $54+. 7:30pm Saturday; 2pm Sunday.
Selena Brunch at Alamo Drafthouse La Centerra | Sunday, April 13 – Celebrate Selena Day with a screening of the classic film (1997, PG) starring Jennifer Lopez, while enjoying a special brunch menu and classic cocktails. $11+; food and drink not included. Noon.
Monica’s Bidi Bidi Tribute at J-Bar-M Barbecue | Sunday, April 13 | No Cover – Experience the iconic hits of Selena when Monica’s Bidi Bidi Tribute brings her acclaimed homage to the Queen of Tejano to EaDo’s casually upscale barbecue headquarters. 5pm.
Celebrate Selena Day at The River Oaks Theatre | Wednesday, April 16 – Enjoy dinner and a show as a live band plays the rhythms of The Queen of Tejano and other Tejano musicians. After the live performance, stay and watch 1997 biopic film, Selena. $28. 7pm.
Selena’s Birthday Celebration at Axelrad Beer Garden | Wednesday, April 16 | FREE – This 21 and up event will feature a vibrant birthday tribute to Selena, featuring Z’maji Glamouratti performing her iconic hits all night at Midtown’s backyard. 8pm.
