Spy the Dome Mobile around Houston and join in to support its mission to champion the revitalization of the Astrodome in the final days leading up to the election that will decide its fate on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.
The future of Houston’s grandest and most historical modern landmark is up for a vote next week. And much of the Houston has been rallying around the proposed plan to give a new lease on life to the storied and historic one-of-a-kind building. Voting Yes on Proposition Two means voting turn the Astrodome and the space around it into a place for events and for the people of Houston to enjoy. Voting no means voting to tear the building down.
In support of Proposition Two, the Save the Dome Coalition is driving a 26-foot truck, known affectionately as the Dome Mobile, on a tour of the city. They’re aiming to get as many Dome supporters as possible to pledge their support to save and reinventing the 8th Wonder of the World.
Inside the truck, you can learn more about why this architectural icon should be preserved, write your own Astrodome memories on the story wall, and walk on actual Astroturf from inside the Dome. You’ll also find original seats and a bench once used by the Astros on display for all to see.
